"Rain, you got to get used to this new life. And quit eating the raw sausages!" yelled Madison.
The raw sausages that were now half-eaten dropped from my mouth. I could feel them, the wetness of them as they fall to my bare feet. My eyes never left the alpha as they did nor did his, as he held two bags of groceries in his hand.
I was frozen by his unexpected present.
"My sausages!" Madison run to the pot smelling they had been burned.
I've regained motion over my body and I ran past the alpha running upstairs.
What was he doing here? I thought as I closed the door behind me.
I walked over to my window and looked out wanting to see him leave.
Within a few minutes, I heard a knock on the door.
"Rain," I heard Madison call.
I went to open the door. In her hands, I saw grapes. I remembered seeing them in a bag the alpha was carrying.
"Sorry, I have burned the sausages, eat on these two bunch of grapes until I've fried some more," said Madison as she gave me the grapes.
"No, I don't want them," I look at them gravely.
I walked away and went to sit on the bed, turning my back to her.
"Rain..," I heard her call.
I didn't answer. I was upset the alpha was here. I hated seeing his face.
"Do you don't want these grapes because of him?" she asked, figuring out.
Again, I didn't feel like replying to her. I was too angry to.
I felt her motion to me and sat beside me.
"Rain, I understand your anger at the alpha, but seeing that he's not the type of wolf that would go to the supermarket and purchase things for us, makes me see that he's very much sorry for what he allowed to happen to you."
"Are you finished?" my head turned to her with questionable eyes.
"I'll be downstairs when you need me," said Madison upset by my rude response.
I hated that I had offended her in any way, but I couldn't bear that the alpha was here and downstairs. I watched Madison sadly as she placed the grapes on the bedside table and hurriedly left the room closing the door behind her.
I threw myself backward hating what I have done. I had to apologize to her.
I anxiously waited in my room until it felt like the alpha was gone. I went downstairs with the bunch of grapes.
"Madison," I called as I went towards the kitchen.
I was soon surprised to see that the alpha was still here. He was around the dining table with Madison. Before him was an empty plate and he had a half cup of drink held to his face.
He placed it down and his head turned to me sensing I was there.
"Rain," Madison called as she spun in her chair facing me.
"I don't want this grape," I told her upset that the alpha was still here. I gave the alpha a grave look as I placed the bunch of grapes before him and hurriedly began to return upstairs.
"Rain," Madison stopped me before I could exit the dining room.
I slowly turned to her and my head kept straight not wanting to look at the alpha who was sitting on my right side of the dining table.
"Since you're downstairs why not have something to eat?" said Madison.
"I'm not hungry," I told her.
My belly churns allowing them both to know I was lying. I felt so ashamed I secretly glanced at the alpha at my side and I saw he was still staring at me. I felt like I wanted to crawl into a hole. I wanted to run upstairs but I didn't want them to know how embarrassed I was.
"Well, your belly is saying another thing," said Madison.
"Please sit and let me share a plate."
"I'll eat in my room," I told Madison.
Madison gave me a disappointed look.
"I'll be leaving now," I heard the alpha powerful voice at my side.
I was happy he was. As I heard him get up from his chair. I went to sit around the dining table. Madison finished sharing my plate and place it before me walking the alpha to the door.
"I hope to see you again for another meal," I heard Madison.
My face made angrily and I took a hard bite at the fried sausage.
"I hope not," I found myself saying.
It was out loud, my head turned to Madison and the alpha who was almost out of the dining room hoping they didn't hear what I had said. They did.
Within Madison's eyes, I could see sadness. My head turned away quickly.
As the alpha left Madison returned to the dining room.
"What my nephew did was wrong and he's very sorry for it but when he's in my house, I'm not going to allow you to torment him with the horrible mistake he had made," Madison complained.
I couldn't believe what she had said. I dropped the piece of sausage back onto the plate.
"So, I see that's why you were so quick to forgive him no matter how wrong he was and that's because he's your family," I got up and walked from the dining room.
"Rain, please don't say that," Madison said.
I stopped. My back turned towards her.
"I may not know a lot of stuff but I'm not a fool," I retorted.
"One day you'll understand the reason for my action toward him," she said.
"Then tell me now and quit telling me one day," I got angry with her as I faced her.
"Sorry, I can't," she said as she lowered her head.
I ran upstairs having enough of her and her evil nephew. I just wanted to be left alone.
