The Hidden She-Wolf

Chapter 45

Ch. 46 / 63 Mar 24, 2026

Rain's P.O.V

Arkane had become very strict with everyone after the unwelcome visit from a pack I thought was entirely killed by Alpha Deucalion. He was upset that some of the men had chosen to join the new Alpha of The Grey Pack. Arkane felt betrayed. I understand and feel for him.

For almost a month I have been dwelling with Arkane and his new pack. I felt much at home here dwelling among wolves who had a tough life. However, I felt I'd grown closer to Arkane. I guess I've never met a man who seemed to suffer as much as I did. Though I still didn't know the painful story of his life. Every time when he takes off his sweaty shirt from training with his men. I couldn't help being curious about the deep scars. Tears would form in my eyes knowing how painful it must have been for him when the one gave him those scars. I would know for I have not one scar but many on my back leading to both sides from the lashes the cruel alpha, Alpha Deucalion gave me and a word he wrote on my forehead deep into my flesh, 'nothing'. Which says I was nothing. Back there I felt like nothing but here with this pack, mostly because of Arkane, I felt like someone. Arkane made me feel so.

Knowing I was raped by a Grey Pack Member, Arkane would come to visit me once his training was through to see how I was doing, and he would never pressure me as Jane would to have an abortion but would always say something to cheer me or bring me wild grapes from the hoods. I was starting to develop a feeling I'd never felt for anyone. I didn't know much about this world, but I knew what this feeling was. I knew it must have been a feeling my mom once felt for my dad.

"Alpha," one of his fighters called him.

"I'll see you soon," Arkane said with a bright smile as he left me.

I would feel my heart skip a few beats every time he did.

I didn't know much about the relationship between a male wolf and a female wolf, but I was interested to learn. How does a she-wolf allow another wolf who wasn't his fated mate to love her?

I wished Madison and I was on the good side so she could tell me.

Discovering that The Grey Pack still exists. I wanted to run to Madison many times and warn her about their plan knowing the type of wolves the pack was after what had happened to my Pack. The Grey Pack seemed to like to secretly attack a pack when they least expect them to. But I was afraid to do it, I was even more worried that if I should try to warn Madison I may never return. The angry alpha will surely kill me after what I did to his sister, Cali. Also, I doubt Madison will want to listen to me.

"Rain," I heard Jane call me.

I knew what she was calling me for.

"Jane, I understand that you want to help me, but I don't want to kill my pup," I told her as a hand ran over my belly while I sat under a tree.

My belly had grown over the month that Jane feared I would be having twins.

I had made up my mind to keep the baby and no one was going to change my mind.

I was the only member of my Pack, and I couldn't help thinking what if my pup becomes more like me as I did with my mom and not his rapist father.

I know there's a negative side to my thought, but I was trying not to think about it. After all, I got nothing from my dad instead of my mom, so I guess there's a strong possibility for a new River Pack to be born.

She approached me.

"I know, Rain, I just want you to help me with something quickly," she said.

I felt embarrassed believing she wanted to convince me again of abortion, but I was wrong.

I followed her into the health area and watched her while she placed some towels into a black bag.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"You'll soon find out," she retorted.

I began to worry. Deep down I felt as if something didn't feel right.

I nervously followed her until we were at another small building. I heard a loud sound of a female; she sounded in pain. I stopped not wanting to enter the building with Jane.

"Please come, I'm going to need your help," she told me.

I refused to go afraid of what I might see happening to the she-wolf who was crying in pain.

Recollecting the horrible image of my dad, I didn't want to ever be in that position again.

I backed away.

"Rain," Jane called seeing I was.

I shook my head repeatedly informing her I wasn't interested to enter where the she-wolf was in pain.

"I need you to be by my side and give me the necessary thing in helping her deliver her pup," she said.

"Pup," I repeated frightened. I had no idea that pregnancy came in such pain. I was terrified.

One pulled, and Jane made me enter the building with her.

My heart raced and my eyes widened seeing the pregnant she-wolf I had once seen eating with her little girl. They both had a black eye.

She was lying on her bed with her legs spread apart and she was in unbearable pain.

"Come get this baby out of me!" she screamed at Jane.

I froze. I felt as if I couldn't move as I saw Jane run towards her and went between her legs. She lifted her long dress.

"I see a head, push," said Jane.

I felt like I was going to pass out. I couldn't stay in the room anymore.

I ran from the room.

"Rain," I heard Jane call. I didn't stop.

I ran from the pack, and I fell to the ground near a river hurting my right foot.

I was petrified after seeing the birth of a pup. It was the most horrible and painful thing to see. The pup was tearing her vagina apart. A hand went under my thigh, afraid. I wasn't ready to have a baby. It was too scary.

"Madison," I cried afraid.
