The Hidden She-Wolf

Chapter 41

Ch. 42 / 63 Mar 24, 2026

Discovering I was pregnant all I could think about was Madison. She would know what to do to help me get through this. I was certain she would.

Jane and the male who saved my name I didn't know went to help a wolf that needed their help.

I was alone curled up in bed, wishing what was happening to me was just a nightmare. I pinched myself many times wanting to wake up from the horrible nightmare I wanted to believe I was having but I wasn't for what I was dealing with now, was true.

My head lifted from my knees as I heard someone enter the small building.

It was him. The one who saved me. He was tall and looked as young as I was.

"Jane and I will help you deal with that thing inside of you," he told me.

His voice sounds smooth and soft.

I looked down at my swollen belly I thought was just from eating too much food and a dislike feeling ran through me hating what he said about the pup that was inside of me. As much as I didn't want to be a mother now I didn't want anyone talking about a pup that was a part of me in, such a way. I knew how it felt to be talked about so badly and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone.

Recollecting how Madison described me in front of her niece, made me cry even more.

He quickly came over to me and tried to touch me, but I dodged his touch.

"I'm not going to hurt you," he informed me.

My head lowered back to my knees.

"I'm Arkane," He told me his name.

"Remember I'm the one who saved you, I'll never try to hurt you as he did," he said.

I slowly looked at him and he smiled.

He had the most beautiful smile, one that reassured you he'll never try to hurt you, and pearly white teeth.

"You're with us now and all rogues are family," he told me.

I didn't answer.

Jane had come back inside.

"This rain seems like it's going to be a night rain," I heard her say.

"His she calmed now?" Jane asked Arkane.

"I think so," he replied.

"I'm going to check if everyone is okay, keep your eyes on her," Arkane told Jane as he motioned from me and touched her hand.

"Try not to be in the rain too long," Jane told him with a smile.

He smiled back at her and then he left.

Jane watched him as he did, and soon her eyes turned to me.

"Almost every week a new she-wolf has joined us with the same issue as yours," Jane told me as she approached me.

"How did they deal with it?" I asked scared wanting to know how.

"Some managed to successfully kill themself like you almost did and the others thought about abortion right away," said Jane.

"Abortion?" I repeated not understanding what she meant.

"Killing it before it's born," she explained.

I was surprised at what she had said.

I didn't know if I could do such a thing.

"How old are you?" she asked.

"Eighteen," I responded.

"Same age as me," she said.

"I can help you kill that baby," said Jane.

I came off the bed right away.

"I can't kill a pup that's wrong," I said as I stood distant away from her.

"That thing inside of you is not even fully a pup as yet, it's just blood and tissue which is not too late to get rid of it for good," she said.

I shook my head not wanting to.

"It's okay, it's your choice no one will force you to," she said calmly to me. "But just think about it before it is too late to get rid of it."

I looked down at my belly and I touched it. I didn't have the heart to do such a thing.

"Do you have any family out there?" Jane then asked.

"No, I have no one," I replied sadly.

"Majority of us rogues, don't either," I heard her.

My attention went to her.

"We're you lucky of knowing you're real parents?" she asked, in her eyes, I saw sadness.

"Just my dad," I retorted.

My head lowered and again I began to cry remembering the painful memory of him.

"What had happened to him?" Jane asked curiously.

I got up not wanting to be reminded again about my dad. It was too painful.

"It's okay, I won't question you any more about your life," Jane told me as she stopped me.

I sat back down.

"You know I never know my parents," said Jane sadly.

I looked at her. Her head kept away from mine.

"I thought the persons I dwelled with were my true parents but when I was ten I later found out they weren't," said Jane.

"The day the kidnapper I thought was my birth mother mate left her discovering I wasn't his real pup and she was dead. She later confessed to me that she stole me and replaced me to fool her mate into believing I was his daughter in saving their relationship."

Jane's hands tightened into a fist in anger.

"I'm sorry," I apologized.

"You're not the one to apologize," she said. "She should when she robbed me of a life I could have had and for throwing me from the house like garbage."

The sad stories of our lives were different, but still, I could feel her pain.

"Though life is not easy for us rogues, I'm happy I have Arkane. He's like a brother I never had and he's always there for me," she spun around with a smile.

"Every wolf here has a sad story about being raped, abused, stolen from their true lives, grieving over lost one who was murdered before them, and many more but Arkane has the saddest story. His painful stories are written under his apparel like words in a book only a language he and his oppressor can understand," Jane's green eyes stared into mine sadly.

Arkane returned. Jane and I attention went to him. He was soaked in the rain.

I watched Jane as she ran to him.

"We cannot afford you to get sick now, not when we rogue look at you as the new leader and alpha of this new pack," Jane told him as she helped him remove his wet shirt.

My eyes widened as she did. There were so many scars on his back and around his belly.

Jane looked at me as if she was making sure I was seeing his scars.

I was frightened by his scars.
