The Hidden She-Wolf

Chapter 48

Ch. 49 / 63 Mar 24, 2026

Alpha Deucalion P.O.V

Madison laid her hand on my shoulder trying to solace me. She knew it was not easy for me to see the son of a wolf who murdered my parents.

"I can't stay in this dreadful place anymore," I walked from a small building that was made from straw.

Madison and I were sheltering from the heavy rain but it had finally calmed down, which was good. I felt like I was suffocating in the unpleasant, shabby building.

A blond and green eyes she-wolf exited the building as well. She was left to watch over us.

"Get your so-called Alpha," I harshly described Arkane to her.

The title of alpha was unsuitable for him just like his father. His father wanted to be the ruler of my pack but was unsuccessfully to do so. And now Arkane decided to be the ruler of thieves and murderers. Wolves no one wanted a part of their pack. I laughed at him being the ruler of the low-life wolves.

I loathed that Arkane and I were related, mostly because of his cruel and heartless father.

"The alpha will be here soon," she informed me as she looked at me gravely.

My teeth tightened in my mouth hating the way a low-life wolf was speaking toward me. If I haven't come for Rain I would have pulled her tiny head from her body.

Madison blocked me away from her seeing I was boiling with anger.

"Arkane is coming," said Madison.

I looked at an image of the wolf that continuously reminded me of the murderer coming toward me.

His dark eyes that are as thirsty for a kill as his father's stared into mine.

"Where is Rain?" Madison asked seeing he was alone.

His eyes never left mine as he stood at Madison.

"You both should leave," he said instead of answering her question.

Both hands tightened into a fist as I walked straight to him.

Madison's hand immediately went to my chest as I growled ready for a fight.

"Keep calm, Alpha Deucaliom, we are not here for a fight but to carry Rain back home with us," she said as her eyes slowly return to Arkane.

His eyes finally left mine.

"Rain is safe here, and I will not let her return with that demon," he told Madison as his eyes went back to mine with pure hatred.

"It's you who is a demon!"I growled at him not being able to control my temper.

How dear he described me in such a way. He had no right, after all, I didn't come from a wolf who killed his own brother along with my mother.

Our claw emerged from underneath our fingers ready for a fight. Madison tried to stop me but this time I shoved her away.

"Stop it!" I heard a loud shout that made us both stop.

My head turned to where the voice came from and I felt everything around me stop in astonishment.

"No," Madison cried out. "How could I not know?"

I didn't know how to react to what my eyes were seeing. My mate was carrying the pup of a rapist and it was my fault to blame.

I wanted to turn my eyes away from her ashamed of my action as she looked at me but I felt like my body wasn't my own. I had lost control.

"You're a sick wolf," I heard Arkane at my right.

I lowered my head.

What have I done? What have I allowed to happen to my mate? I couldn't stop thinking.

My head lowered and I felt my chest tightening now finding it difficult to breathe.

I couldn't bear what I was seeing.

"You call yourself an alpha when you allow your own member to be raped," Arkane cursed me.

I ran away.

"Deucalion!" I heard Madison call.

I kept on running.

"I hope your disgusting action kills you!" Arkane yelled from behind.

I fought hard to breathe as my chest kept on tightening.

I still could hear Madison calling me. I couldn't look at my mate anymore knowing what had happened to her was my fault.

I've never run from a war or a life-threatening situation for I believed I was strong and powerful enough to overcome anything until now. Seeing my little mate with a large belly before her was the most difficult thing to see knowing I was the monster who caused it.
