Alpha Deucalion P.O.V
My fingers traced the marks on both hands. They weren't healing. I had managed to stop it from bleeding but the wounds weren't closing as they would during the healing process.
They stung as I touched them. These were bites I obtained from my fated mate, Rain.
"They still aren't healing?" I heard Madison.
I immediately pulled down the long sleeves of my shirt hiding them.
Madison approached me and sat before my desk.
"It, has been hours, and still your wounds, look fresh," she said concerned.
"If they don't heal quickly, they could get infected.
"I know," I retorted too worried about them.
I know why my wounds were taking such a long time to heal. I had hurt my fated mate badly. I had caused her so much misery when she did nothing wrong to me. I blamed myself for being unable to control my anger.
"Let me see it," said Madison.
I placed my hand on my lap not wanting her to.
"How's she doing?" I asked ignoring her request.
Madison takes a deep breath in and exhales heavily before answering me.
"She hates me for taking away her pup."
"You did the right thing," I told her.
"I wish this had never happened to her," Madison began to cry.
I reached for one of her hands taking it into my hands.
"Don't blame yourself for anything. Everything that had happened to her is my fault," I told her.
She took a long look at me as if she were reading me.
"I see why your wounds are not healing now," she figured it out. "Your strong emotions are hindering the healing process."
I got up from around the desk and walked to a window, turning my back towards her.
"What have I become, Madison?"
I heard Madison approach me from behind. My eyes closed as she rested one of her hands against my back.
"All the anger you've shown towards me, I've never blamed you for any of it, for I know you were hurt and were only wrongly dealing with it," she said.
I slowly turned to look at her.
"What I'm relieved about is that you've realized all the terrible actions you've done of coping with your anger were having an effect on everyone." "It's just sad you had to discover this way," she said.
My head returned before me.
"If Red was to see as how Rain has, she would hate me just as she," I said sadly.
"Red is not here now, you have Rain, your Luna to take care of," retorted Madison.
"I doubt she'll ever take me as her mate," I responded
"Fight for her and make her love you," said Madison.
"How can I after everything I've done to her? She hates me Madison and I doubt she'll want me as her mate."
Madison looked at me sadly. She knew it would be impossible for me to gain her love or her trust.
"Madison," we both heard someone at the door.
"Come in," I ordered.
"She's gone," a she-wolf told us.
Madison and I quickly went to the room she was staying in. I discovered she had escaped through the window.
"How she managed to escape from these ropes?" I heard Madison
I went over to the ropes and saw they were destroyed.
How did she manage to find such strength to burst the thick ropes?
"What are we going to do now?" asked Madison concerned.
"Tomorrow, we'll return to the Pain Pack to retrieve her," I told Madison gravely.
