I had obtained an ugly and deep wound on my right foot by a sharp pointed rock nearby the riverside. I was scared seeing the amount of blood I was losing. I tried to get up to wash the blood from my foot into the nearby river but with every attempt I made, I fell right back to the ground.
"Rain!" I heard Arkane shout my name.
He sounded worried, very worried.
"Arkane," I answered. "I'm near the river," I gave him my location, happy he had somehow found me.
As Arkane saw me bleeding on the ground he quickly took me up and placed me to sit on the bank of the river, carefully, placing my right foot into the water.
I watched him as he slowly washed the blood from my foot. My eyes were comforted by every touch of his warm hands.
The blood running from my foot soon stopped but the scar I could still see it.
"Your foot will heal soon," he said.
I nodded.
Ever since I left the depth of the forest and been through a lot the wolf part of me was taking a long time to heal. My body was under a lot of stress.
With one foot still in the water, I watched Arkane as he sat closely next to me.
His elbow brushes against mine and I feel myself becoming relaxed, unworried about what I had seen. His head held away from mine.
My eyes paused at his face which was pleasing to look at. I was admiring his masculine physical feature. Arkane was handsome. He was the only man beauty I had taken full notice of. Why? I guess because he understands pain, my pain.
His lips carefully moved, and I found my eyes now staring at his pink lips. They looked soft, very soft. My teeth gently bite my bottom lips assuming his lips must feel as soft as mine, probably much softer. I felt a sudden urge to touch them with mine, I didn't know why. I didn't understand the strange feeling he was giving me.
"I'm sorry, Jane made you see that," he apologized.
His dark eyes turned to me, staring deep into mine. I felt a sharp pain in both cheeks and immediately lower my head, shyly.
"Jane, wanted you to see what you're getting yourself into that's why she brought you to that pregnant lady," explained Arkane. "She should have first warned you," he then complained.
It felt good he was taking my side.
A hand gently touched my belly and worries swept over me. I wasn't ready to have a baby, I was scared to after seeing a she-wolf giving birth.
"Is an abortion too painful?" I asked.
I had now made up my mind to not carry the baby.
"I don't know, Jane would be of good help."
I nodded.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Arkane asked.
My eyes went to his tearfully.
I nodded.
"I'll be there with you if you want me to," he said holding my right hand.
I looked down at his hand holding mine tightly.
"Thank you," I retorted.
"Can I tell you something I've never told anyone?" I heard Arkane.
My head quickly went to his, eager to know.
"What is it?" I asked curiously.
"The reason I chose this land for us, it once belongs to the wolves with the most beautiful and strangest ability. They were called the River Pack," he said with his head held away from mine.
My heart felt like it skipped a beat and my hand quickly motioned from his.
"Are you okay?" Arkane asked fearing something might be wrong with me.
"I'm okay," I tried to hide how surprised and uncomfortable I was being mentioned about my pack.
"The river pack had strange abilities that were connected to the water and the Luna, I heard she could heal with the smallest droplet of water," Arkane continued about my pack.
"Probably if she was here, she would help me remove my scars," Arkane said sadly.
A hand sadly touched his right shoulder. He slowly looked at me as I did.
We both stared into each other eyes as if we didn't want to stop.
"Arkane," I heard someone call, allowing us to stop staring at each other.
"I'll be right back," Arkane gently touched my right cheek and left.
I felt a sharp feeling against my cheek as he did. I watched him as he left, and my head lowered to the river to examine my foot to see if it was healed. It wasn't half finished yet. I looked away disappointed and around the land stunned this is where my pack came from. It was hard to believe.
My eyes closed trying to somehow find a connection with the land and re-opened by a strange feeling against my injured foot. I was surprised to see a bright blue light against my foot. I quickly removed my foot from the water, frightened. What was happening?
I thought it was the water causing it, but it wasn't, the light was still against my wound went I got out of the water. I lowered myself to touch it. The strange light left, and I no longer saw the wound. It healed me.
Did I heal myself with water? I thought curiously.
My mom could heal with water. Was this how it happened? I thought curiously even more.
The blue light again appeared this time I saw it through my apparel, I lift my dress and I saw my belly glowing.
At that moment I knew the pup I was carrying was in fact like me. My pup was a River Pack.
I smiled and gently touched my belly. My mom must have gone through the same thing when she was carrying me, I thought playing with the blue light covering my belly.
"Rain," I heard Arkane coming back.
I quickly lowered my dress and the blue light disappeared.
"Yes," I answered as I saw him approach me.
On his face that once looked always delighted to see me, wasn't. He looked at me seriously, like I did something wrong. He was now giving the look Alpha Deucalion would, a look that says he didn't trust me.
Did I do something wrong? I was going to ask but his words stopped me.
"Why didn't you tell me you were not a rogue?" he asked.
I looked at him confused.
"I am," I said.
"There's no need to lie anymore Rain, the alpha and Madison of The Dark Blood Pack are here to see you."
My eyes widened at the news.
