Alpha Deucalion P. O.V
I stood on top of a hill looking down. My eyes searched the surrounding.
"Alpha Deucalion," I quickly spun around hearing one of my men call.
"We can't find her anywhere," he said.
"Are you sure you checked everywhere?" I asked firmly.
"Yes, your alpha, every land nearby that belongs to a pack and doesn't," he retorted.
I gave him a grave look.
His head lowered.
I steadily approached him towering above him like a tall, strong tree.
"The men and I refused to search among the rogues," he explained himself, nervously while his head lowered.
My teeth tightened in my mouth. I hated being disappointed by any member of my pack.
"Didn't I tell you to search every place?" I asked trying to control my temper.
I've allowed my anger to get the best of me and have caused her to suffer when she did nothing wrong.
"Yes, your alpha," he answered submissively.
"Then why did you choose to disobey me?" I asked.
He was silent. It was better that way.
"I am sorry alpha, I and the other will search among the rogues now," he said.
"Go....," I commanded.
He immediately turned around and ran.
A hand ran through my hair. I was becoming fed up with who I'd become.
I was never like this; I was once a happy wolf until something horrible happened in my life that changed me. I blamed my evil uncle Bazaar. He killed his brother, my father, and my mom and lied about their death. It happened sometime after when I was taken by a bolt of lightning to another world that consist of humans that had no powers nor great strength.
Getting revenge and putting a stop to him with a help of a red-headed human, named Red. I had fallen in love with her. I was learning to become the true me again, but the strange lightning returned and took me away from her, steal, I sometime would like to think.
For years I have been trying to find a way to get back to my love but no were-witches are were-wizards were able to help. My heart hardened and I became angry at the world for allowing another hurtful situation with my life and now look what I've become. I've turned into a monster and the wolf I was created to take care of and share my life with physically and spiritually, I physically and emotionally hurt her, my one true mate, Rain. All because I'd lost trust in everyone, and I didn't want anyone but, Red in my life though she wasn't, my fated mate and just a young, human girl who had stolen my heart.
I made a member of a pack I hated the most raped my fated mate, I thought angrily.
My head turned away angrily, and I stooped down to the ground. The thought was painful, too painful.
Madison, will my mate take me after what happened to me? Will he see me as a ruined wolf?
I remembered Rain saying at the event.
The thoughts were too unbearable, and my head began to hurt. I felt like I was going crazy. I didn't want to be alone.
I shifted into my wolf, allowing my clothes to burst and fly everywhere into the air, and ran home.
As I was dressing. I heard a knock on my bedroom door.
"Have you found her," I asked as I immediately open the door.
I thought it was one of my men, but it was Madison.
"I see you still have no luck in finding her as well," she said sadly as she entered my room and sat down on a chair next to an open window.
I looked at her sadly.
Madison blamed herself for allowing her to leave.
"Will we ever find her?" she asked with tears as she turned to me.
I didn't know what to say.
"What if she hanged herself like Thomas," Madison said worriedly.
I went to solace her.
Madison was under a lot of stress. She was still grieving over her lost daughter, now her mate who had killed himself, and now Rain.
"Let's try to think positively," I told her.
I too was worried. I didn't want her to do something stupid. I would never forgive myself if something bad should ever happen to her. Her death too would have been my fault. What I had allowed to happen to her would cause anyone to commit suicide.
"It's almost a month and we can't find her anywhere, where is she," Madison cried hard.
"She has a mind of a child and I'm very worried about her, Alpha Deucalion." "What if she's with someone who will take advantage of her?"
I looked through the window at the sky, very worried.
The bright blue sky had started to make me remember her eyes.
It was the first time in many years I'd admired another female eye other than my first love, Red.
Red had eyes that remind me of the forest, it was green. But, Rain, her eyes say a lot more. It not only resembles the endless sky or the ocean. It says more, more I couldn't figure out or think of now.
The door opened and Madison and I looked simultaneously.
It was Cali.
"Brother, please don't tell me you too are worried about some wild she-wolf that we don't know anything about," she complained.
"Why are you still here?" I asked.
After Madison came crying to me that she had caused Rain to leave. I knew it had to do something with my sister. Cali did later confess to us, knowing she could never hide a lie from me.
"Deucalion, lets us just forget her," she walked into the room and stopped before me.
"How can I when she's my mate," I told her.
Her eyes widened shocked by the news.
Cali was now the second person who knew about Rain, my fated mate, other from Madison.
I thought my sister would have somehow taken the news happily and sincerely apologized for being the cause of her leaving but she didn't.
"What about Red?" she asked seeming to be upset.
Red didn't only steal my heart, within her world, but Cali's too. After Cali found out that Red was the one who saved me when I was a little boy from being killed. Cali had come to love her and so seeing me with someone else other than Red would be a problem for her.
"Red is not here," I answered.
"Remember how much you love Red, please don't forget your love for her," she pleaded.
My head turned away from her.
"There's no way I can go back to her, it's better to forget her," I retorted.
"No, brother," said Cali. "I thought your love for her would be stronger than a fated mate," she muttered.
I tried to ignore her.
I soon heard one of my men at the door, calling.
"Come," I instructed him immediately.
The door opened.
"I've found her, Deucalion," he said.
Madison quickly moves from me at the news.
"Where is she?" she asked before I could.
"She's among a new pack formed by rogues, I heard called, The Pain pack created by your cousin, Arkane, 54 miles from here," he told me.
My head turned away loathing I'll have to look at the face again that resembled the beast who killed my parents.
"Let us find her now," Madison urged me to.
I looked at her.
I was ready to find Rain and try to fix all the mistakes I'd made that happened to her, but I wasn't ready to see Arkane's face again.
