Arkane looked at me with the saddest look I've ever seen at what Alpha Deucalion had said. It pains me to see him look at me in such a way.
"It's a lie," I told him. "He's lying," I kept saying not wanting him to believe his lies.
Alpha Deucalion was lying for sure. He could not be trusted.
"Why do you keep lying to me, Rain," Alpha Arkane said upset as he backed away from me.
Within his dark eyes, I could see more pain adding to all the pain he had undergone.
I reached out to him determined to make him believe that Alpha Deucalion wasn't my mate, he was only tricking him into taking me back to his pack.
"You're a liar!" I yelled angrily at Alpha Deucalion.
"Why do you keep making my life so miserable," I said with tears in my voice.
I couldn't cry now. I cried so much that I now hated the rain. I hated being wet and cold. It made me feel as how my life has been from the day I left the forest, miserable.
Alpha Deucalion said nothing, instead, he lowered his head as if he was afraid to look me in the eyes.
"What have I ever done to you?" I fought hard to hold back my tears.
"Rain," Madison reached out to me with tears in her eyes.
"Leave me alone!" I yelled at her.
Her body jumped hurt by my words.
My hand folded into a fist and my nails sunk into the palm of my hand, trying hard to keep myself from crying.
"Take her away from here," I heard Alpha Arkane.
There was no way I could hold back my tears anymore as I looked at the one who understand me and understand being hurt, walking away.
"Arkane," I called.
He stopped. He didn't turn to look at me as he did.
I ran to him and stood before me.
He didn't look at me. I tried to touch his face as he would touch mine, but he held my hand so hard and shoved it away that I winced in pain.
I look at my hand and saw not only blood marks from my nails in the palms of my hand but his as well.
"I'm tired of being lied to," Arkane finally looked at me.
Within his eyes, I saw no more love that he had for me but hatred.
The rain came pouring down, slowly soaking our clothes.
"How could you believe his lies?" I couldn't help asking.
"I know him because he's my cousin, a most hated one," said Alpha Arkane as he glanced at Alpha Deucalion angrily.
I was stunned they were relative. They were so different. Alpha Arkane was the nicest man I've ever crossed paths with but Alpha Deucalion was the opposite.
"And he's not a liar," he completed his sentences and quickly began to walk away.
"Arkane," I called but he ignore me.
I ran to him but Alpha Deucalion grabbed me, carrying me away.
I fought to be free from him but he was too strong. I clawed and bit his arms, but still, he won't let me go.
I couldn't use my lightning power at him. I was now alone, Arkane was no longer in my life. Whose protection will I be assured of when my secret has been revealed?
"Madison, Madison," I called believing she will reveal Alpha Deucalion's lies.
"Please tell Arkane, he's lying," I begged her as Arkane slowly disappeared from my life.
"He's not lying," I heard Madison.
I froze within Alpha Deucalion's arms as he held me from behind.
"He was the one you saw under the full moon," explained Madison.
At that moment I hated Madison. She was no better than her nephew.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you," she apologized.
I screamed the loudest I could.
I felt a hit on my head. My head raised and I saw Alpha Deucalion lowering back his hand to me.
Soon the entire place began to darken as I felt my body being carried away.
"Arkane," I softly called.
