The Hidden She-Wolf

Chapter 55

Ch. 56 / 63 Mar 24, 2026

Salem's P.O.V

The day I returned with Alpha Arkane. I spent my day at the river healing majority of the pack members, helping them get rid of their deep scars. It felt good to help them with the scars that remind them of the one who hurt them.

"You need rest, this is the last wolf I'll allow you to heal for today," Alpha Arkane approached me at the river bank as I healed a little wolf who had an awful scar given to her by her mom's boyfriend.

I smiled at him and then informed the little wolf I was through healing her.

She smile, thanked me, and ran away.

"So, will you obey me, though you're a Luna without an alpha," Alpha Arkane teased me.

"No," I teased back with a chuckle.

He gave me a sad face pouting his lips. He looked so cute.

"Will you do now?" he asked.

"Only if you allow me to heal one more."

"Okay, Luna Salem," he called my real name.

I smiled. It felt good not to be able to keep any more secrets of who I was.

"Where is that one wolf you need to heal?" Alpha Arkane began to look around confused.

I got out of the river and held his hand. His hand was now wet by mine.

His eyes paused at me and we both stared lost into each other eyes.

A sad look appeared into his eyes and he slowly pulled his hand from mine.

I was confused by his action.

"Don't you want me to heal you as well to get rid of those marks?" I asked.

His back turned to mine.

"No, Salem," he retorted sadly.

I felt down by his response. I hate that I had upset him.

"I'm sorry," I apologized lowering my head.

Alpha Arkane spun around and lifted my head to his by my chin.

"I would be happy for you to heal me Salem," he said. "These scars not only reminds me of the pain like the other who were happy to remove them. Instead, they remind me of a 6-year-old who was brave enough to protect his mom from his abusive father," he slowly lifted the end of his white shirt allowing me to see a section of his scars on his belly.

Tears slowly ran from my eyes, now knowing how he had obtained them.

The rain soon came pouring down.

Alpha Arkane smiled and slowly lifted his head to the sky, enjoying the rain.

He then began to wipe away my tears.

"Don't cry for me, Salem" he told me.

I nodded and held his hand against my face not wanting to stop feeling his comforting touch.

At that moment I now knew that scars didn't remind you of the pain you've gone through it also reminded you of the brave person you once were.

I smiled.

"That's what I want to see on that pretty face of yours, Salem Harpen of The River Pack," said Alpha Arkane.

I smiled proudly.

"Our moms would be proud of us. If they were alive," he told me.

I slowly walked up to him wanting to kiss him but before I could he spun around by a member of his.

"Alpha Arkane, someone is here to see you."

I felt ashamed of my action.

"Let's go," said Alpha Arkane as he held my hand.

I was happy he didn't realize what I wanted to do.

I nodded and followed him.

As I did I was surprised to see Alaric was there. A member of the cruel alpha Pack. Alpha Deucalion.

"Rain, we need your help," he looked me terrified in the eyes.

He ran over to me and kneel on his knees before me.

"The alpha is dying and our packs are being attacked by the Grey pack for they've discovered that our alpha is no longer a threat to them. Please help us."

I looked into his eyes.

"If you don't help us, many of our pack members including children will die."
