As much as I wanted to see the alpha being scolded and lose Madison for everything he has done to me, I didn't want to be in the same room with him. My wolf was starting to hate his scent and everything about him. I couldn't stand to look at him anymore.
I walked away from Madison and her hand held mine not wanting me to go. I turned to look at her.
"Did you give her to The Grey Pack?" Madison's teeth tightened in anger as she asked the alpha.
The alpha walked over to the window and his head lowered.
"Did you give her to them? I want an answer now, Deucalion?!" she yelled.
Of the trauma, I've gone through and the amount of distress my body underwent. I couldn't stand to stay in the room anymore. I was starting to feel like I couldn't breathe.
I exited immediately.
I breathed heavily as I went downstairs and sat down holding my chest, trying to stay calm. I eventually did.
I tried to listen to what was going on upstairs but I heard nothing. It was for the better. All I wanted to see was the alpha coming downstairs with an extreme feeling of loss in his eyes of losing Madison. I didn't want Madison to forgive him. I wanted her to turn her back on him forever. A heartless wolf like him deserves to be alone. I now understand why the moon goddess never allowed him to have a mate. He deserves to be by himself.
Within a few minutes, I heard a loud shattering sound upstairs.
"Madison," I called as I rushed upstairs to see if she was fine.
I thought the alpha was hurting her with his uncontrollable anger but when I opened the door I was so surprised at what I saw. Madison's arms were wrapped around him as if he was the victim who went through everything. My eyes widened in disbelief at what I was seeing. Alpha Deucalion didn't deserve her treatment. He deserved to be shunned aside and left alone in the dark but I should have known better. She will always choose blood rather than someone like me who met nothing to her.
As Madison's eyes turned to mine still holding the alpha in his arms as he cried. I ran away.
"Rain," she called.
I didn't stop. I ran until I was in the forest.
I could never stay with her seeing she as chosen her heartless nephew's side after everything I told her he did to me. I thought she believed me but now I know she never did.
I shifted into my wolf behind a large tree sensing I wasn't being followed nor watched and rolled into the ground hiding my mark that revealed I am a member of the River Pack and ran into the depth of the forest. There were no more Grey Pack members, there was no need for me to be scared or to be frightened of being caught by them anymore. All I needed to do was to stay away from wolves and keep to myself. It was dangerous to trust anyone. I trusted Madison believing she would take my side but blood is thicker than water. She chose to choose her cruel nephew as much as he was wrong and the attacker of the incident.
I was back home, the place I truly belong. I walked towards the tree, the tiny home my grandmother and I used to share. I went to the hole in the tree to hide from the cruel and heartless world. A wolf, a brown she-wolf leaped before me, blocking me from entering my own home, growling at me.
I quickly stepped backward.
She slowly approached me as I walked backward wanting to make an attack.
As I was about to growl at her instructing her to stay away from me, she leaped to my right side and bite me on my neck. I whimpered and fight back as I tried to escape from her. I managed to escape alive with a bloody neck and a bloody foot. I stopped by a river and licked my wound as they slowly healed feeling a sense of safety there.
I was sick of being weak and falling victim every time I was near a wolf. Look what happened to me? I lost my mate because of the evil alpha, he made me get raped and now my home, my grandmother discovered for us and made me promise to never leave was taken from me by a single she-wolf. I stood up and I growled with rage. I was tired of being pushed around. I was not going to allow it to continue, it was going to stop and it was going to start with her.
My claw dug angrily into the ground as I walked back to my home. The strange she-wolf sensed that I was returning and ran from the tree home. I was enraged when I saw her leaving my home as if she was the one who built it. I ran to her as she approached me and I started to bite and tear apart the flesh from her neck. She fought back determined to win but every bite she gave me felt numb to the tiredness of always falling as the victim and the weakling. All I could think as I fought was to win and I planned on to.
She tried to return to the tree seeing she was losing and I shove her to the ground and clawed at her face. Blood splashes on my face and I enjoyed seeing her crying in pain. It felt good to be strong. It felt good to not be the victim for once.
"Rain, stop!" I felt Madison shove me aside, allowing me to fall onto the ground.
The she-wolf rushed into the tree home.
I got up and growled at Madison. I wanted nothing to do with her. I was angry with her, very.
"Rain, I know you're angry at me, you have every right to," she said.
I encircled her wanting to make her pay for choosing his side.
"Leave or I'll hurt you," I warned her.
"Rain, please listen to why I had to console him," Madison tried to explain to me.
"I want nothing to do with you!" I yelled at her.
I turned from her and towards the wolf that was in my home.
"Get out of my home!" I yelled at her. "Or I will kill you," I warned
I ran to the house and started clawing until a large claw was made into the tree.
"Stop this Rain, this is not you!" said Madison.
"This is me now!' I yelled back at her infuriated.
"I'm tired of being hurt and I'm not going to allow it to go on anymore!"
"Even if you have to kill a mother who is trying to protect her pup!" I heard alpha Deucalion in his human form appearing from behind the tree.
My eye went from him and to the tree and there I saw in the claw I made in the tree the she-wolf I tried to kill, shivering in blood and wrapped around two cubs, a boy, and a girl, protecting them. They were covered in her blood and in their eyes, I saw fear, which reminded me of myself.
Tears formed in my eyes. I couldn't believe what I was becoming.
"I'm just tired of being hurt," I shifted as I fell to the ground.
Madison came over to me and took off her jacket covering me.
"I know," she said.
"Why did you choose his side?" I had to ask her.
"Because he's just like you, angry, sad, lonely, and has seen the evil you have seen as well," she said.
I looked at the alpha and I saw him looking back at me with sadness in his eyes.
"One day, you'll understand," said Madison.
"But, he killed my mate," I cried to her.
The thunder rolled and rain slowly began to drip from the clouds.
"He didn't kill your mate," Madison said as she looked at her nephew.
"Then where is he?" I asked.
"He's not ready to come to you as yet."
