I jumped up and I found myself in a strange room.
"Lay back down, your body is still weak," a strange lady who seemed the same age as Madison said to me as she tried to gently pushed me back to lie down.
"Who are you and where I'm I?" I asked scared.
"I'm Marcy and you're at the alpha's home," she retorted.
I laid back down instantly in pain.
"I want Madison," I told her.
"I'll tell the alpha you've awake," she said as she hurriedly left the room, closing the door behind her.
It felt quite weird that the alpha was willing to take me to his home and allow someone to take care of me.
I observed the clean white apparel I was in, a nightgown I'd see Madison wear preparing for bed.
I tried to get off the bed to get to Madison's, but the pain was too much it was hard for me to get up. My hand lowered between my thigh and my face grimaced in pain.
The door opened and my hand quickly moved from between my thigh, but not in time before the alpha could see me.
I watched the alpha as he entered the room and I noticed something different about him. His blood-red eyes never looked at me, even when he stood next to my bed.
"I want Madison," I told him.
"I'll get Madison for you soon," he retorted.
I was surprised by his comment, he was so calm and gentle towards me as if he truly did care about what had happened.
"Thank you," I acknowledged him.
"How are you feeling?" he asked concerned.
Still surprised by his change of behavior towards me, I was speechless for a minute before I could respond to him.
"I'm still in pain," I told him.
I could still feel the throbbing pain as if the wolf was still moving between my thigh.
I held my lower body, trying to bear the pain.
"I've sent my made to get you something for the pain," said the alpha with his eyes still kept away from me.
"Yes, thank you, alpha."
"It's the least I could do for you," he said and walked away from me. Soon he paused at the door as if he wanted to say something else to me but was having a hard time too.
I cried out and held my head as a flash of memory played in my head. I was remembering what had happened before the Grey Pack had captured me. I wasn't alone the night after the full moon, the mating ceremony. I recollected a man, coming towards me, saying, mate. His face was blurry I couldn't see his face.
Alpha Deucalion quickly approached me. His blood-red eye had finally met mine.
"What is happening?" he asked worriedly.
"They killed my mate, before they took me away," I cried.
Alpha Deucalion stared at me surprisingly.
"They took him from me and I never get to know him" I wept.
Alpha Deucalion just kept staring into my eyes, surprisingly.
The grey pack killed my mom, my dad, and my entire pack, and now they've taken my mate before I could get to know him. They had taken everything from me and gave my body an awful feeling in my thigh, I'll never forget.
The alpha tried to touch me to calm me down but as soon as Macy returned he quickly moved from me as if he didn't want to be seen so close to me.
"Give her the pain reliever and I'll get Madison," he told her and immediately went off.
Macy gave me the pain reliever, I felt dizzy and so I went off to sleep. When I got up it was almost night.
"Rain," I heard Madison beside me.
It seemed she had been sitting for hours waiting on me to get up. Her eyes were swollen and red as if she was crying.
I sat up and hugged her.
"I'm sorry what happened to you," she told me as she held me tightly in her arms.
I cried.
"They will pay for what they have done to you," she told me as she held me in tears as well.
"The alpha has plotted to take them down tomorrow," she said.
I nodded and held her hands resting against my face.
"What they have done to you Rain, you don't deserve it, no one does."
"They've killed my mate Madison before we could know each other," I told her sadly.
Madison hugged me again tightly in her arms, my head rested on her shoulder.
"I'm so sorry Rain," she again apologized.
"Tomorrow the alpha will put an end to their pack not only for what they had done to you but also for causing so much pain in others' life."
I nodded, wiping away my tears.
"Take me home with you now, please," I told her.
"I'll get the alpha to help me," she said.
"No," I stopped her.
Though the alpha's cruel attitude towards me had somehow changed, I didn't feel comfortable around him or in his place.
Madison paused staring at me.
"I want Alaric to help me instead," I told her.
"Rain, I know that the alpha has hurt you so much, but you don't have to be afraid of him anymore, after what happened to you, he decided to take you as a member of the pack."
I was so surprised at what Madison had said but still, I wanted Alaric's help.
"Okay, I'll go and look for him," she said.
I laid back down and watched her as she left the room.
As she did I couldn't stop thinking about my mate. If only I'd known to use my strange lightning abilities I was clueless about I could have safe him. Instead, I was too weak to. I cried.
Madison returned with Alaric. Alaric looked at me sadly as she saw me lying in bed.
"Let us carry her home before the rain starts again," Madison urged Alaric.
Alaric's hand went behind my back and under my legs lifting me gently from the bed. I growled in pain.
"Shhh..... everything is going to be okay," he softly told me.
He carried me towards the door while Madison followed from behind.
As he was about to carry me from the room, The alpha approached us, stopping us.
"Where are you carrying her?" he asked Alaric.
His voice was so stern and powerful.
I felt Alaric's body begin to shiver frightened. Before Alaric could respond, Madison did.
"I'm taking her home," she said.
The alpha took me from Alaric hand.
"What did I tell you to do?" he asked him.
"I'll get right on it alpha," Alaric immediately ran downstairs.
I lay quietly in the alpha's arm, my eyes never left his dark short beard.
"I'll take her," his lips slowly moved as he spoke.
The alpha carried me straight to Madison's home. My eyes never left his as he did. I couldn't believe how nice he was to me now.
As we arrived, the alpha placed me down on the bed. Madison thanked him.
He nodded.
"Let me know if you need anything," he told Madison.
"Yes," retorted Madison.
He then left, holding his head straight away from me as always.
"I'm happy his attitude towards you has changed," said Madison as she sat beside me.
"You need it after everything you've been through." Her right hand gently brushed my forehead.
"Those Grey Pack members will be extinct tomorrow, as alpha Deucalion had said," said Madison.
My hand clutches the sheet around me tightly in anger, I could not wait for them to be no more either. They all deserved it. It's sad I couldn't see them as they all took their last breath.
