Kayden Diego frowned. What's the meaning of this? What audacity? "Are you alright?" Kayden inquired. He's feeling she's not alright to have deliberately stood on his path.
"I can only be alright if you take back your card. If you don't want to help me find a job, that's alright but you can't stop me from getting a job and meeting my needs" Lily snapped at him.
"What are your needs that this card is not enough to pay for? I gave you the card to buy whatever you need. So you'll keep it. That's my verdict" Kayden Diego thundered. This woman is stubborn and he must subdue her pride.
"I don't want to have it. On what grounds am I supposed to keep it?. I am not your girlfriend neither am I your woman" Lily retorted back. How can she keep someone else's limitless card when she's not his girlfriend. What are her qualifications to have it in her possession? She was really getting infuriated.
Kayden Diego glared at her with pure contempt and disdain " You are not qualified to be my girlfriend! The class you belong to does not fit into that position. So stop filling your head with the impossible" Kayden humiliated her.
He was right but she may not understand what he meant. She's his mate and not a mere girlfriend. She belongs to the class of the Luna and not in the position of a girlfriend.
Lily felt humiliated. How dare he insult her! She will give him a piece of tongue lashing "Do you even have a woman? Do you count yourself man enough to have one? I guess you should check your sexual orientation first before talking about class and or choice of a woman" Lily provoked him.
Kayden Diego was angered. He had tolerated her senseless behavior in the past. He had never been talked down so low before in his entire life. How dare Lily question his sexual orientation? And had the guts to say it before his very eyes. A woman he did all he could to save and gave a chance to live again spoke so arrogantly at him?
"You!..how dare you Lily, to talk to me like that. Have you suddenly forgotten whom you are talking to?" Kayden Diego's eyes had turned full black. The beast in him was provoked.
Lily saw his eyes and quickly turned her face away. She became terrified and regretted saying what she said. She felt the atmosphere become tense and hot. She wanted to run and hide herself from his terrifying looks but felt stuck to a spot.
"You have no idea how much I endured your presence in this house! And I will be more than happy if you take your damn fucking ass out of my house"Kayden Diego thundered in a domineering tone and shoved her aside angrily.
Lily shivered at Kayden Diego's outburst. But because she least expected him to shove her, she fell down painfully. Her face flushed red and her displeasure was visibly felt.
Without turning back to spare her a glance, Kayden Diego took large strides and walked out of the mansion. He didn't even care about having his breakfast. Thinking back to what happened earlier, he felt guilty. He shouldn't have shoved her aside that way, perhaps he applied too much of a force that made her fall down.
He was tempted to call Ms Gracey, but his ego would not. She had witnessed his fury and how he shoved her. If he calls her now, the latter will feel that perhaps he has worried for her. He stilled his heart and started working on his laptop.
In Imperial city, Anna Brook went to see a doctor and registered for antenatal care. She did an Ultrasound and she was told the baby was fine and healthy.
As she stepped out of the hospital, she put on a spectacle and walked out carefully. She was being conscious of who she was and tried to be sure no one was following or knew she visited the hospital.
She chose a distant hospital to go for fear of being recognized. She was still unmarried and until Damian Cross decides to get them registered at the bureau, she'll have to keep her pregnancy a secret.
As she stepped out of the hospital, Harold Aaron's private investigator took pictures and went into the hospital as soon as Anna Brook drove off.
Harold Aaron had hired a private investigator to look into Lily Cruz's death. He wants to dig out any information that might be associated with Lily's sudden disappearance. The thing the police and media concluded as suicide. Suicide without a corpse to test for autopsy.
He was initially Mr Cruz's assistant. His boss' death looked fishy to him and barely two years plus his daughter also died mysteriously. He can't let everything go down just like that. He will try until he gets a satisfactory answer.
In Singapore, Kayden Diego opened his door to Justin. He had arrived and came straight to find his boss in his room. As soon as he entered, he bowed his head in respect but Kayden Diego ignored him and went back to work on his laptop.
"I am sorry Lord Diego," Justin pleaded. He calls him Lord when they are alone but boss in front of others.
"What really happened Justin? This is unlike you" Kayden Diego asked. He's never been late to any agreed meeting or flight before. If he hadn't called his phone and Linda answered he would have concluded that something terrible had happened.
"I was drunk and overslept," Justin said. He was drunk might be an excuse to others who don't know what he did overnight.
"This isn't the first time you got drunk. Why is it different this time? Was it because the drunkenness led you to sleep in Linda's place? Kayden asked with a smirk.
Justin was speechless.
He doesn't know how to answer Kayden Diego's question. It's true he's prone to always getting drunk, especially whenever he goes to parties. In fact there was a party he went to that Kayden Diego had to order the bodyguards to help him home and yet he was the first to report to the office the next morning.
He couldn't say anything in defense but just stood there looking down. While he was speechless trying to get a good excuse to answer his boss' question, his phone started ringing.
"Can I please answer the phone?" He asked and Kayden gave a shrug. He excused himself and went to the extreme end of the room.
Kayden was wondering, why would someone sleep off when he knows he has a flight early the next morning? He was drunk like he claimed but he was able to drive himself to Linda's place.
Anyways, that's his own issue. He was going to visit the werewolves world and see how his parents were doing. Perhaps he would go there as soon as he returned back to Z-country.
He eavesdropped on Justin's conversation" Ms Gracey...yeah..will inform the President" Justin hung up and came over to Kayden with heavy footsteps.
How was he going to break the news to him? He feels his boss has something for Lily and doesn't know what his reactions would be. "Something terrible has happened, boss! Lily is missing!!"
Kayden, who was reaching his hand to take the glass of wine in front of him before Justin announced the news of Lily's disappearance, became suspended mid-air and gradually clenched into a fist.
His complexion became ashen and his eyes were shooting out daggers and turned black. The temperature of the room became extremely high and suffocating. The aura Kayden was emitting contains a killing intent.
Justin became scared. Kayden Diego hadn't felt so pressed out with rage like this for a long time. The last time he felt like this was when his then mate rejected him. The news of Lily's disappearance had infuriated him and knew there would be grave consequences to everyone in the mansion.
Gently, Kayden Diego withdrew his hand to himself and would have Shifted into his wolf form if he hadn't controlled himself. As he turned to look at Justin, what he saw was his beast face with eyes burning red.
"Calm down Lord, we'll find Lily that I can promise you. I'll call the bodyguards at once and assign them to a thorough search"Justin coaxed.
Without another word, Justin called the chief among the bodyguards to search for Miss Lily but unfortunately, they had no idea who she was nor what she looked like.
Only a few people working in the mansion had seen Lily. Others don't even know if there's anyone who answers that name in that mansion. They checked the surveillance cameras and saw her sneaking away.
When Justin turned to give a feedback to Kayden, he was already putting his things in the suitcase. "Book an emergency flight to Z-country immediately. If you have to book for the entire seat, do it!"
It's an order and Justin quickly did as he was told. He returned and informed his boss that there's a private jet they can charter and he had already paid for it.
"Cancel every meeting and conference until further notice" another order. Justin obeyed without complaints and did as he was told. This meeting was important for the expansion of the starlight group and they were supposed to spend two weeks before returning back to Z-country but alas, they were returning in less than 24 hours after their arrival.
It was already getting dark and yet Kayden Diego took the flight and a few hours later, they arrived at the Mansion. Kayden, without stepping in through the door of the mansion, called the securities. It was midnight already but none of them could sleep. Someone was Missing and the boss wasn't going to take it with them.
As soon as the servants and securities in the mansion assembled Kayden declared "I hired you all to protect everyone and everything in this Mansion. You all were in this Mansion and didn't see when Lily Left? (Looked at the faces of all the servants and security with a chilly stare,he threatened) If after 24 hours Lily is not found, you'll all spend the rest of your lives in the dungeon!!" Kayden thundered.
"I saw Miss Lily when she was going out of the mansion and before I could ask her where she was going without using a car, she told me she was just strolling in the neighborhood and would be back soon. I didn't know she wasn't going to come back" the butler hurriedly explained.
But what Kayden said next sent the old man rolling on the floor.
