Linda closed her eyes and exhaled audibly. Justin narrowed his brow at this warrior woman who is his lord's mate. Lily definitely has a lot of gifts they're yet to know about, or better still, she might not even know she's so gifted.
Kayden Diego smiled and deliberately let the glass in his hand fall off. The noise of it brought others back to their senses. Without being instructed, the clapping started from one end and the other end picked it up from there as the whole arena was filled with applause.
Finally! Yeah so finally, this high shoulder walking Envy has been reduced to a puppy. Lost pride. The applause continued as Kayden stepped down from the podium and started walking towards the duo.
Envy was too ashamed to even say anything. She just laid on the ground there not ready to ever stand up. She has been defeated, she has lost face before everyone who held her in high esteem. But the shameful part of it is not that she lost to Lily, but because she was going to be sent to the Ravens cage!!.
Envy let her sword drop off her hand and spread both of her hands in total before Lily surrendered. On seeing that, Lily withdrew and shields her sword.
That was when she heard the applause. "Long live the lordess!, Long live the lordess!!" Was renting the air. Kayden Diego finally walked to her.
He cupped her face in full admiration. His mate hadn't failed him, he had lost no face before his subjects. He looked her eyes from one to the other and smiled at her.
Unable to express how excited he was feeling, he started kissing her publicly as the applause intensified. "Long live his highness, long live her majesty".
Kissing her to his satisfaction, he left her pink but slightly swollen lips and turned to face the spectators. "Who is the newest best female warrior?"
"Her Majesty lordess Lily!!!" The yelling was loud and clear. Kayden raised her hand up and declared her the best female warrior and a member of the Royal Court.
Kayden now talked about handling Envy. She made the request and he cannot decline now not to make his subjects feel his mate was unworthy.
But Envy started pleading. Asking lord Diego to spare her for old times sake. But Kayden didn't even spare her a glance but told the warriors present to tie her up and deliver her to the Ravens cage.
Lily looked at the tear stained eyes of Envy and felt pity for her. It's all her fault. She shouldn't have tried creating a feud. She wanted to humiliate her, but see what she gots herself into.
Kayden Diego lifted Lily princessly and took her away. Envy tried to run after him but she was restrained. Soon the news of Envy's defeat fell into the ears of royal parents.
VAMPIRE WORLD
Vampire lord was pacing back and forth, stamping his feet a million times. He had sent his most worthy subject as a spy to dig out any information about the special one.
Since they couldn't find her in the human world and she's not in the vampire world. Where else can she possibly be if not the werewolves world?
Looks like they've lost out on this special opportunity that would have changed their Vampire world forever. If that fellow known as the alpha of the Middleton pack gets hold of this special one, then he's become formidable and unconquerable.
Finally, someone got an answer for him."Lord, the spy you sent to the werewolf clan had been captured. I am afraid he might end up spilling the beans" one of the servants of the vampire lord declared.
"He won't dare do it in his life. I will execute his wife and children if he dares, "the Vampire lord declared, too confident of what he said. He would wait until sunset tomorrow, if he doesn't see him, he would have to launch an attack on the werewolf clan.
WEREWOLF WORLD
Envy's father went to plead with the Royal parents to spare his daughter. He can't watch and see his daughter in the Ravens cage. What kind of life would he and her be living after the experience of the Ravens cage? He fell on his knees and pleaded.
This stupid daughter of his should have used her head. Why would she challenge someone to a contest without knowing that person's strength of war? What kind of overconfidence had led her into making such a request to his highness. She thought she was going to be the winner and the lordess the loser.
But even if her majesty loses to her, what audacity does she have to request that she be thrown into the Ravens cage? Has she lost her mind to have thought of something so devastating?.
Royal parents were furious with Envy's father. How dare he have the face to make such a demand. His daughter had bargained for what she couldn't chew. So how does that concern the Royal parents? Did she consult with anybody before making such a bold confrontation?
But Envy's father pleaded the more. Saying his highness can punish her anyhow he deem fit but spare her from the Ravens cage. Envy was still a maiden and anything awful can befall her before dawn if she goes into that cage.
Meanwhile Kayden Diego and Lily had returned into their chambers.
At this time, they were both just stepping out of the bathroom. Kayden had insisted they bathe together. He doesn't feel like taking his eyes off her.
She had impressed him greatly. Just that day, she had given him surprises, one after the other. First, she exposed the hidden agenda of the vampire spy, next she talked senses into him and this evening, she proved her worth to the entire werewolf clan and made him proud.
He didn't lose face; rather she made him respected the most and earned the respect of everyone in the entire clan for herself. He was so proud of her and he felt happy that she's his Luna.
"How did you fight with Envy and even win the contest? I am the only one in the entire clan that has an advantage over her" Kayden asked out of curiosity. He still can't fathom how strong Lily was to have overpowered that girl.
"I can't explain myself. I only remember that I was acting under instincts. I found myself being driven by an inner force. But I would prefer to assume that the willingness to conquer my rival that's been the power driving me" Lily responded with a chuckle.
Kayden Diego pouted. The first part of her statement implies an inner force controlling her, that's the special power within her. But her latter statement left him speechless.
"Oh she's your rival? Tell me sweetheart who you both are in rivalry over?" Kayden asked with an innocent look on his face. He's trying hard to hold back his laughter.
Lily was surprised that he called her 'sweetheart'. The word sounded romantic to her ears. She smiled.
"Yes , she's my rival, she has eyes for my man" Lily declared as a matter of fact. She had her back to Kayden and hence does not see his looks that indicate he's having a broad grin.
"You are my choice, Lily," Kayden confessed. He came to her and circled his hands around her waist. Robbing his chin on her hair, he whispered " Are you ready to know everything you want to know about my sister?"
Lily loosened his hands gently and turned to look at his eyes. His eyes were domineering. " Yes, Kayden, '' Lily replied.
"Can't you call me something more romantic?" Kayden asked. Lily blushed and looked away. Kayden tickled her by the side and tucked her "call me something romantic that would be pleasant to my ears"
She tried to prove unyielding, but when Kayden intensified the tickling, she couldn't take it anymore "ok darling". "Good girl" Kayden felt satisfied.
He brought her to sit on the sofa but Lily laid down and placed her head on his thighs. Kayden Diego's cheerful countenance became cold and Lily saw him closed his eyes and took a deep sigh.
"Xena was my little sister. We were both the only children by our parents. She's pretty younger, far younger than I. She spent most of her life in the werewolf world and only got to go to the human world once at her pleadings and cries, which I couldn't endure anymore.
Finally I brought her with me to the human world once and since then, she seemed to prefer the human world to her real clan. She fell in love with a human and wanted to get married.
Mum and dad objected. They won't have their daughter marry a human they're not even sure was her mate. But Xena would not listen but went headbent on marrying her lover. On her last birthday, after a party was held for her, courtesy of dad, we got to know that Xena was pregnant. My parents were mad at her. Why would she get pregnant outside wedlock? She had brought a dent on the royal family. Dad and mum then decided to lock her up in confinement in the clan, never to step her feet outside until the child was born.
She cried and begged me to help her talk to our parents. She had to return to the human world and tell her baby's papa about the child. She can then return to be confined if that's her punishment from Dad and mum.
I told her to wait for my final verdict. I told my parents to let her be with the man she likes, especially since they were expecting a baby. But when I went to find Xena, to tell her my verdict and conclusion, she had escaped and gone away to the human world.
She found her boyfriend and they were escaping trying to get out of my reach when they had an accident. She died at the spot and her boyfriend also died two days later after complications arising from a severe head injury" Kayden concluded and felt a deep burden lifted off his shoulders.
Since the death of his sister, he hadn't said a word about it to anyone. He had been in a state of grief and agony since then.
Lily listened without interrupting him. She saw his looks, heard his voice that carried so much pain and knew he had stilled his heart to have been able to talk about it to her. She touched his torso before consoling him.
"Don't try to blame yourself anymore for Xena's death. What has happened has happened, we can't change the past, but we can make sure the future is free of mistakes. You've mourned, grieved and even spent sleepless nights if I guess correctly, but it's time to let go and plead with her to reincarnate as your sister again in your next life. I am here for you kay..no darling, yes darling" Lily said as they both started giggling.
