When Lily took her bath and stepped out, she felt perfectly well. All the tiredness and weakness suddenly seemed to flee away.
Royal mother had prepared a dress for her. She wore it and looked herself up in the mirror. She looked splendid and could tell the dress looked good on her.
She combed her hair to the back and applied a little make-up before stepping out of the door. Her personal maids were waiting and as soon as they saw her, they bowed before her.
Those maids have a special reverence to her now. She's the lordess and later became the best female warrior. But today, She single handedly saved the life of the Royal parents and spared the entire clan from falling into the hands of invaders. They had never seen such a warrior before and to say the least, this powerful warrior is a female, the lordess herself.
They wished they could compliment her by saying she looked great but they are unqualified to compliment his highness' woman. They led the way and Lily simply followed.
When she stepped into the Royal Court, all heads turned towards her. She looked great. Her dress was long, down to her feet with an overflow behind. Her skin seemed to be glittering making her look like a celestial in full splendor.
Her face was void of any traces of smile. Her head raised up with a high shoulder as she took elegant and graceful steps towards her seat beside the alpha.
When Kayden Diego saw her, he looked her over and over from her head to her toes. He can't help but commend the fact that she's beautiful and the most attractive woman he had ever seen.
But he was having a furious temper already. He was waiting for her arrival before summoning the prisoners to be brought out for interrogation and that begins with Envy.
That slut dares to ask men to rape his wife? He had been insulted and humiliated. It wasn't about Lily alone, it's about him. Which man would be happy to know that his wife had been raped by other men, even taking turns?. And he's not an exception.
If Lily hadn't been a supernaturally gifted one, she would have been raped right in the kingdom where she's the lordess. What about him, where will he hide his face? Lily arrived and stood before Kayden Diego. She bowed slightly before him and took her seat. She almost shivered at the sight of Kayden Diego's fury. He looked like a vengeful king who's ready to execute an instant judgment.
Royal parents were seated at Kayden's left. Lily was at his right. They saw their beautiful daughter in-law and felt grateful to her. She had arrived on time and salvaged the situation otherwise, they didn't know what would have befallen them and the entire clan.
Kayden Diego raised his hand and the ever ready servants brought the prisoners out. They were about fifty in numbers though badly wounded. Envy was flung onto the floor with her hands tied to her back. Her hair was disheveled and she looked untidy.
She bowed her head. She didn't know this is what would befall her when Joe Bidder sent an emissary to her with the promise of helping her become the first female alpha of the Middleton pack. He told her that his spy in the kingdom had informed him that she was punished and sent to the Ravens cage. He implored her to take revenge and he was willing to help do it.
He had planned with her that her part was to capture the Royal parents and have them abducted. He would send enough soldiers to help her declare herself as the alpha.
Before Kayden Diego would arrive, his trusted warriors would all have been killed and he would join forces with her and kill Kayden Diego. Then she'll reduce Luna to a prisoner for the rest of her life or execute her if she so pleases.
She conspired with Joe Bidder because the latter was avenging his daughter's death. After her rejection of Kayden Diego, she fell ill and in a couple of days, she died. Joe Bidder promised her to make Kay Diego pay with his life for sending her to her death.
She wasn't pleased initially with Joe Bidder's suggestion to terminate Kay Diego's life but knowing that the enemy of an enemy is a friend, she gave in. She then went into creating an alliance with a former traitor. She vows to pay Kayden and Lily for allowing her to end up in the Ravens cage. She was completely molested and her blood almost sucked dry by the crazy vampires who had been held hostage for long.
She didn't even know how she came out but only opened her eyes and saw herself in her room. She decided to find a convenient time and deal with the couple. But she didn't know that Lily was mysterious.
"Tell this royal court what part you played in the invasion of the enemies into this clan?" Kayden Diego roared. He was full of contempt for this lady he had once treated like a sister. He didn't know she was a wolf in sheep's clothing all those while he treated her like a royal one.
Rather than speak, Envy spat out and aimed at his highness. She would die whether she talked or not. She would rather provoke him and hasten the execution.
"Someone come, wipe her with a scorpion wipe until she's ready to speak up, only then will you stop" Kayden Diego ordered.
Everyone held their breath. The Scorpion wipe is the hardest punishment to someone whose fate was yet undetermined. It's a magical cane whose tips were embedded in the deadliest scorpion poison. Each wipe can make the most stubborn criminal start confessing his errors and even call the names of his or her co accomplices in the act.
Envy's eyes were wide open. She had forgotten that there's a punishment called 'scorpion wipe'. It's really pathetic to suffer a scorpion wipe and still experience execution.
Two soldiers came forward. Each holding a wipe that looked tangled together with its tips like the tail of a scorpion.
Lily narrowed her brow. Is this what the scorpion wipe looked like? She threw a sideways glance at Kayden Diego and saw his cold stare that was full of the facial expression of his indignation.
One of the soldiers pushed Envy down making her go face flat before the lord and lordess. The first wipe landed on her back and Envy jerked up in pain.
When the second landed she was already withering on the floor. Each of the wipes penetrated through her clothes into her skin. It tore her clothes and exposed her skin.
Suddenly Lily saw a vision in which Envy opened the door, looked both sideways and seemed to be beckoning on someone to come out.
"Envy has hands in the death of Xena"Lily declared like a whisper. Kayden Diego squinted and asked telepathically "Explain"
"She was the one who opened the door for Xena to escape from the confinement" Lily answered this time telepathically too.
No wonder, he thought she wanted to say something by mistake the day she came into his study before covering her mouth with her palm. He also had been wondering how Xena was able to get away if there was no one who aided her.
"Spare me, spare me. I will speak!!"Envy cried out in pain. Her entire body was covered in wounds. Her skin had been turned several places not to say the least about her clothes.
Blood was oozing out and she's so weak and ashamed to raise her head. The soldiers stopped as she cried out her willingness to speak.
When Lily saw Envy, she almost mistook her for someone else looking at her from a distance. She was still writhing in pain and kept turning and rolling on the floor.
"Speak!!"Kayden Diego thundered. His hatred towards this Envy of a girl is almost making him descend on her and rip her flesh off her bones. She actually aided Xena back then and kept pretending and lying that she didn't know when Xena left.
"I joined hands with rogue Joe Bidder to invade our clan. I was responsible for the sudden slumbering of the Royal parents and their bodyguards. Please spare me!"Envy was saying and kept rolling on the floor. The scorpion venom was circulating her entire body and she felt like the pain was moving and circulating her entire body.
"What other offense did you commit?" Royal mother now interrogates. She had told Kay to let her handle that matter for him. Since this slut said nothing about it, it implies she wants to sweep it under the carpet.
"I.. also..I .. nothing else your majesty royal mother" Envy stammered. How can she say she instructed those empty barrel to rape the lordess.
Lily chuckled silently. This girl will not learn until she sees the coffin. Royal mother asked if she asked her men to molest the lordess? Envy rather than answer started pleading. Her sins were becoming unpardonable.
Kayden Diego's fingers clenched into a fist. She dares to trespass and connive with a rogue to invade the clan. As if that was not bad enough, she conceived the thoughts of disrespecting the lordess?
"You will be punished for the sin of treason and for your inhumane behavior towards the lordess" Kayden Diego declared.
The other prisoners were interrogated and they all confessed to be hired by Joe Bidder in revenge for his daughter Jane Bidder's death.
Kayden Diego wondered if it was his fault that she died. Didn't she know the consequences of rejecting one's mate? But through it all, he is indeed grateful otherwise, he wouldn't have been gifted with Lily as his mate.
Envy was sentenced to death at the gallows but the Royal father instructed that she be turned upside down and left to die slowly and not quickly by beheading like the other prisoners.
Hardly had the order been given when a servant arrived and reported that Envy's father had hanged himself. Without a single word of sympathy, Kayden Diego ordered that he be thrown into the deep forest to rot away.
Having concluded, Kayden double positioned warriors at the borders before announcing to his parents that he was returning back to the human world. But of course he said this after they left the Royal Court.
His parents asked if he would be appointing another Beta in place of Envy's father. But Kayden replied that if ever the need arises, he would find a worthy clan member to take the position.
Royal mother removed a golden bracelet and gave it to Lily as a gift of a 'well done' for saving her Royal parents and the entire clan.
Kayden Diego squinted at the bracelet. This was an asset passed from generations of mothers. He remembered seeing his grandma wearing it and giving it to his mother long before her death.
Lily bowed before the Royal parents in appreciation. Before they left, the royal mother urged Lily not to forget about their previous discussion the last time they were here. Lily nodded before turning to glance at Kayden briefly. The latter wore a poker face and pretended not to know a thing.
When the couple teleported back, it was already night.
