Her grace the Alpha Queen

Suspicious

Ch. 7 / 55 Jan 26, 2026

The Cruz cooperation was shut down momentarily. All the employees were asked to return home and mourn their deceased boss. A large portrait of Lily Cruz was placed at the gate of the company.

The Cruz castle where Lily and her husband lived was opened for as many as are interested to stop and leave their condolences.

Damian Cross was heart broken. The butler and Lily's chauffeur were the ones that held him down. Once he had hit his head against the wall and would have continued if it weren't for the quick intervention of the butler who stopped him by holding him in a tight hug.

Several times he had pleaded with them to let him be. He would stab himself to death so that he would be with his darling wife Lily. He can't live without her, she was his everything and the light that brightens his life.

Damian Cross' parents sat with the guests and sobbed. They said wonderful words about their daughter in law. She's such a pure, perfect and loving daughter in law anyone could ever wish for.

Of course they were telling the truth about Lily's personality but they were insincere about their mourning, they knew exactly how Lily had disappeared. In fact, they planned everything with their son Damian.

Damian's mother vowed before everyone seated that she would spend the rest of her life in Buddhism, praying for the soul of her daughter in-law.

Many high placed and prominent people in the society and members of the aristocratic families came to pass their condolences to Damian Cross and his parents on the death of Lily Cruz. Many of such people were friends to Lily's parents and also business partners.

A large portrait picture of the smiling Lily Cruz was placed at a conspicuous part of the sitting room. People went to write a few lines on the condolence register.

The government of Imperial city gave an eulogy of the late daughter of the late Analdo Cruz. A man well recognized as a patriot and a philanthropist.

Flowers were coming in and placed around the house, an empty tomb was erected at the Cruz's burial place. A tomb that contains only Lily Cruz's wedding ring.

But someone's watching. Lily's assistant Harold Aaron didn't believe his boss was dead. He has this uneasy feeling that tells him Mrs Lily was still alive. She looked too happy and lively when she left that afternoon.

She hardly goes out for lunch, rather she'll order a takeout or better still have the servants bring her lunch. But on this particular day, she left earlier than the usual lunch hour and told him she'll be back soon.

That 'soon' had turned into days and finally ended with the news of her death. To worsen it, she was said to have died by suicide. His boss was looking too cheerful for one to ever think suicide was anything close to her thoughts.

How can someone die and the conclusion was that her body had been consumed by wolves. Not even a piece of flesh, a strand of hair, no bones nor toes, nothing left of Mrs Lily?

That's very unbelievable. Others might be deceived by the cock and bull story but definitely not him. She's not dead! That's his conclusion and if she's really dead, then she must have been murdered! And the first suspect is that adulterous husband of hers.

Once Mrs Lily had sent him to drop a surprise package to her friend Anna Brook on her birthday. He was given the spare key to Anna Brook's apartment to prepare a surprise party for her. When he got to her apartment, the door was locked from within and he couldn't access the door. He then tried the back door and fortunately, the back door was left unlocked.

Hardly had he gotten in when he started hearing a moan from the sitting room. He paused and tiptoed to be sure someone was not raping miss Anna or why else would she leave the back door opened.

When he came closer he was greeted with a terrible scene. Two bodies were intertwined with each other on the sofa deeply engrossed in a rigorous love making that they didn't even notice that someone entered.

What baffled him that day was that the man involved with Miss Anna was none other than Mr Damian Cross, his boss Lily Cruz's husband. Then and there he knew that his boss' life would be in danger someday.

He gently tiptoed backwards and returned the spare key to his boss saying he would call an organizer to arrange for the surprise party with an excuse that his mother was not feeling well and he had to visit her at home.

And today her shameless, brainless husband claimed he loved his wife and cannot live without her. He was simply deceiving others and possibly himself but not him, Harold Aaron.

He would watch from the sidelines as an observer and see what would unfold. He would try as much as he can to stall for time and see if his boss will return or if he can help Mrs Lily by preventing the Cruz cooperation from falling into the hands of this stupid gold digger.

Kayden Diego and Justin Stone went out by noon that day, leaving Lily and the servants alone in the mansion. Lily spent her day in her room. She's bored and feels lonely.

She doesn't want to step out of the mansion for fear of being recognized. She had lost her memory and can't even remember the people in her life. If someone sees her and recognizes her, how will she relate with such a person?

She felt stuck up in the mansion. As she lay on the bed, she rehearsed the little she now knew about herself. But the most tragic part of her life now was not about her suffering from amnesia, but the fact that she's become a hybrid:partly human and partly a werewolf. At least that's what Kayden Diego told her.

Will she one day transform into some scary, fierce looking wolf? She'll become a she-wolf? or no..maybe a male wolf since it's a 'he' that made her into a wolf.

Will her life henceforth remain as a werewolf or it's just for some time before she transforms back to a full human. She doesn't ever want to be a werewolf if it was her choice to make, let alone remaining one for the rest of her life.

If one day, she wakes up and recovers her memory, she will not spare those who tried to murder her. They were the ones who pushed her to the point where she now ended up becoming half a human and beast.

Who were her parents and family, would they be worried about her, possibly searching for her. Had she caused them to get scared unnecessarily?

In the evening, Lily came downstairs to have dinner. She was the only one seated at the dinning. She felt empty and deserted. Why would Kayden Diego leave the mansion for so long knowing she's a guest who knows no one else but him.

She wished he were there to share dinner with her. Even if he chose not to say a word to her. His presence was enough company for her. As her food was served, she narrowed her brow;

Why are there only male servants in the mansion? She's not sure of spotting any female since she regained consciousness yesterday. Are there no females in this entire mansion?

Who does the cooking? A male chef? This is really ridiculous. Lily was very uncomfortable with Kayden Diego's choice of servants. If he had a problem with the female folks, all he had to do was streamline his relationship with them and not to have a complete phobia for them.

Wasn't he going to get married someday? Anyways, he can choose to become a priest as practiced by some religions. She wasn't going to be the only odd one in this mansion, for the few days or perhaps weeks she'll be staying here, she needed a female companion.

Could it be, what Justin Stone said earlier was really true? Now she understands why he felt irritated at seeing her and took it out on her by yelling at her.

Though the servants were respectful to her, it made her feel they were according her a certain kind of respect meant for a madam or for Kayden Diego's woman to her. She wasn't their master's woman, she was just his mansion mate for the time being.

Lily felt a cold shiver at the thought of being Kayden Diego's woman. She shrugged and felt an inner repulsion. Why this feeling, she was indeed nothing better than a guest in this mansion.

She told the servants not to bother serving her anymore, she would henceforth serve herself and possibly prepare the meals. They should concentrate on doing other work in the mansion but leave all the work in the kitchen for her to do.

But they immediately shook their heads in disagreement that president Diego would not take it likely with them.

President? Lily asked herself quietly. He's President Diego, not Lord Kayden Diego? Looks like these servants are not werewolves. But she couldn't ask them the name of the company Kayden Diego was presiding over. That would be too nosy on her part.

She smiled at them in a friendly manner. They bowed and instinctively retired. Lily ate her dinner silently and wondered what kind of man Kayden Diego was. He really looked mysterious and scary, especially when he's not putting on a friendly expression. This man almost got her scared every wit when he angrily yelled at her this morning.

But looked extremely handsome and charming at first sight. He really is handsome with his typical poker face.

She finished her dinner and sat in the sitting room watching movies. She remained there for a few hours before she heard a car honking.

She suddenly felt excited that Kayden Diego was back. And was anticipating his entering into the mansion.

When Kayden eventually turned the door knob, he was greeted by the smiling Lily who held the door for him to enter. When he saw her, he was not furious like he was in the morning.

Only he knew how much he endured his conscience torturing him over how he reacted to her in the morning. He had to promise himself not to yell at her anymore, at least not for something as simple as asking him a question.

"Hi" Lily chimed and stepped aside for him to Walk in. Kayden nodded and walked in. Before he could think of changing into a slippers before taking proper steps into the sitting room, Lily already bent down and helped him remove his shoes.

Kayden Diego just stood there and glanced down on the woman. No one had ever helped him with his shoes before. He allowed her to help him remove his shoes and placed the slippers before him.

He kept his eyes fixed on her. Her long hair had poured over her back and some falling across her shoulder. It was beautiful to behold.

Lily still remained squatted before him but obviously admired his feet. He was wearing a stocking though but she could see through it that his toes were long and would definitely be beautiful.
