Lily gently raised herself and saw Kayden Diego staring at her. He didn't look angry at all. On the contrary, he looked appreciative. Lily became shy and looked away . She shyly walked away until she heard him call her.
"Lily!" Kayden Diego called in a tone that's best described as a whisper. Lily paused but didn't look back at him.
"Thank you. But don't do it next time" He instructed in a domineering voice. Without waiting for Lily to reply, he walked past her.
She was surprised at his words. He thanked her which implies that he appreciated what she did but immediately also asked her not to do it again. He's so unpredictable.
Lily, recovering her wits, ran after him "Mr Kayden Diego" she called as she saw he was almost done climbing the stairs. She had to ask him a favor.
Kayden Diego paused in his steps and turned to glance at her expressionlessly. He could spare and say a few words to her. He hoped she wasn't going to take advantage of the fact that she was given an inch and take ten yards instead.
"I need a favor"Lily requested and felt her voice choke. This facial expression of he's makes her scared. How will she tell him to get her a female companion? She immediately regretted why she called him back.
"What favor?" Kayden Diego asked. Why was she suddenly quiet? Wasn't she the one who stopped him and requested a favor? Why is she suddenly unable to talk to him about it?
"I am sorry, I've changed my mind," Lily blurted out. She was going to slap herself for being stupid.
Kayden Diego squinted. He wondered why she changed her mind after starting the conversation. Perhaps he was looking too hostile and that might get her fidgeting.
He carefully descended the stairs and stood in front of the woman. He looked at her shy bowed head and asked telepathically, "What do you want?"
He felt an inner magnetic pull towards her and had to suppress his feelings. He felt like having a taste of her lips but tried very hard holding himself back.
Lily felt her mind was asking her a question. "I don't know how to tell him that I am uncomfortable being the only female in this house. I wish I could get a companion. But he looked too scary and I am afraid of him" She was talking to herself and completely turned her back to him and quietly went towards her room.
Kayden Diego smiled quietly. She wanted a friend and she couldn't bring herself to ask him. She could just say it. Was he really looking so lofty and scary?
Kayden Diego became affected by her sullen mood. He stretched his hand to stop her but quickly cautioned himself. When had he been so affected by a woman's mood before?
Only his mother had made him feel responsible for a woman. She's the only woman that matters to him and non else. He heard her thoughts. She might be thinking she was talking to herself but in reality, she was only answering his question.
Why is she scared of him? Was he looking so mysterious? If he was really looking like that, why does he have a lot of admirers and among the ladies the most?
Wasn't he handsome and charming enough to eradicate any form of scary looks? He went to his room. That was his last encounter with Lily that day.
When he got to his room, he was preoccupied with her thoughts. Her posture when helping him remove his shoes, her smiles, her sullen appearance and the thoughts of her hearts made him have a wiry smile.
He likes her Charisma. As he went into his study, he decided he was going to grant her the favor she couldn't bring herself to ask him. This was her first request and he was definitely going to grant her.
He worked until midnight before going to sleep. He had that feeling again that Lily is being disturbed again. She wasn't sleeping yet and he was not interested in checking on her.
He didn't know when he slept off, but was soon awoken by Lily's screams. Like the previous night, she was probably having nightmares.
Kayden Diego was worried for her. Why is she suffering from nightmares? Suffering from amnesia was bad, but suffering from nightmares was worse.
He would have Ning to check on her the next day. He doesn't want her to suffer anything more than her present state. He couldn't sleep and didn't want to go to her. He's never been in a tight position like this before.
Next morning, when Lily woke up, she felt fatigued. Isn't one supposed to feel strong and hearty in the morning? But why was she feeling the opposite?.
She dragged herself into the bathroom for a shower. She soaked herself for some time in the bath before stepping out.
Picking one of the beautiful dresses she found in the wardrobe, she slipped it on. She would like to go shopping and buy herself some things. But where was she going to get money? She didn't want to ask Kayden Diego for money and she doesn't have any on her.
Maybe she'll find a job to do. After all, she can't stay up at home all day. Going out there was going to help her regain her memory faster. That's what she's going to do. She'll talk things over with Kayden and ask him to help her get a job
She came downstairs for breakfast and didn't meet anyone in the sitting room nor at the dinning. Had Kayden already eaten and left or was he still in his room?
As she sat down, she heard footsteps from the opposite direction. The guest room was located in that direction and often, that's the direction where the servants come from.
She looked towards the sounds of the footsteps and saw a middle aged woman coming towards her direction.
Lily froze when she saw the woman. She stared at the approaching woman who wore a beautiful sky blue pipelon and a straight black skirt. She looked beautiful and must be between the ages of forty and forty five.
Who was this woman?
"Hello, Lily" the woman greeted with a broad smile. Lily felt puzzled. This woman know her name? She stared at her. The woman looked elegant and graceful and could not pass for a maid. Is she Kayden Diego's mother or a close relative?
"Hi" Lily replied and smiled as well. Smile is truly contagious and one receives it when you give it. The woman introduced herself as Ms Gracey and said she'll be staying in the mansion with her for the time being.
Lily was super excited. So there'll be someone who will keep her company henceforth? Just what she'd been thinking last night and couldn't bring herself to voice it out. Mr Kayden Diego is really mysterious. He knew her thoughts again?
But even at that, she was glad at last that she will not be the only female in the mansion anymore. Oh the feeling of excitement.
Ms Gracey saw her happy appearance at just her mentioning that she would be staying with her and immediately liked her. This girl is a lovable person. She felt at ease seeing she's a friendly type. She had refused to come to the human world when Kayden summoned her. If he hadn't used his power as an Alpha, she would have insisted not coming.
But seeing Lily now, she liked her already and thought she had no more regrets coming. Soon they both started chatting like old school friends.
Lily, accord the respect of an elder to Ms Gracey. This woman can go for her mother or at the least, her aunt. Ms Gracey smiled and agreed that what her nephew said was true. He had told her that Lily is friendly and easy to interact with.
She must have been blessed by her ancestors to have gained so much attention from Kayden. Such a man that detest female folks.
Ning Jones arrived. He was happy to see that Lily was cheerful. This woman would have died if it weren't for the power of the Alpha that resuscitated her.
He even spares to give her his blood. What a rare thing from a powerful Alpha like Kayden Diego.
He examined Lily and asked her some questions. The latter answered appropriately and also made a complaint of her insomnia. Ning told her it's because of the trauma she went through but she shouldn't be worried, he was going to prescribe some medicines for her.
She didn't tell Ning about the nightmares. But the latter took the initiative to ask her. Kayden Diego had already told him about her insomnia and nightmares but only wanted to hear it from her.
Lily replied that she had no nightmares. Ning nodded but Ms Gracey narrowed her brow. She didn't know about her nightmares? How could that be?
Ning felt it's absurd. Kayden Diego would definitely not be assuming it and here is Lily, who doesn't seem to know about her nightmares. All the same, he prescribed drugs that will help enhance her sleeping and possibly reduce the nightmares. But of course he didn't tell her the function of those drugs.
When Ning left, Ms Gracey gave the prescription to one of the servants to go and get the drugs. That was when she remembered that Kayden left a credit card to her to give to Lily.
"Mr Kayden asked me to give you this," Ms Gracey said, stretching the card to her. Lily reluctantly accepted it with a polite thanks.
She would definitely return it back to him when he comes back. She would appreciate his kind gesture first and then give him his credit card.
Looking at what was written on the card, she realized that it's a limitless card. Lily was surprised. Such a card was what Mr Kayden Diego easily parted away?
This man must be really wealthy because giving her the card meant nothing to him. Had he trusted her that much already? She can keep spending the money without the fear of running out of cash.
"Kayden must have thought highly of you to have gifted you that card" Ms Gracey words interrupted her thoughts. "Thank you Ms Gracey. I feel that I own him too much in this present life and wonder if I'll be able to pay him back" Lily's emotions were expressed.
"Silly girl, Kayden is kind hearted and would not even accept your payment even if you want to" Ms Gracey teased her. Lily was touched and stood up giving her a long hug.
Ms Gracey really felt happy that day. She would have something real good to tell her sister. Kayden's mother is her sister. Her sister had been worried about her Son's inability to love a woman.
She even consulted the wise one about it and was told that he was yet to meet the right woman that would break through the embargo he placed on his emotions. It's his doing, he doesn't just want to be with any woman.
Offcourse Kayden must not know about it or that his mother had visited the Wise one. After all, his mother had pleaded with him to find a woman that would carry his child. She really longed to see her grandchild.
Kayden had told her that he's not interested in women. she should take her mind off having any grandchild from him. He could adopt a child just to please her and nothing more.
Letting Lily go from the embrace, they went outside the mansion for a stroll. This was her first time stepping out of the house. The yard was beautified with flowers and everywhere looked green and glistering.
There's a swimming pool at a far end of the mansion and there seemed to be an underground basement used as the garage.
They talked about a lot of things until Lily asked a question. She paused and looked at Ms Gracey "Tell me, Ms Gracey, how long have you known Kayden Diego?"
Resuming her stroll, she folded her arms across her chest and walked in parallel to Ms Gracey. She smiled with a corner of her lips "How about I say I've known him as long as he'd been living!"
What? Lily was alarmed!!
