Kayden stood up and saw Lily writhing in pain. He knew at once that the baby was coming. Not minding the fact that he was wearing only a robe,he lifted her and carried her all the way to the Royal quarters where a place had been prepared for her delivery.
As soon as Kayden took her there, Royal mother told him to go back to his quarters until he's called upon. But Kayden lingered until he heard Lily calling him "Kayden, it's really painful". He felt uncomfortable to leave.
Kayden couldn't take it anymore and charged in. The Royal physicians were shocked. The alpha did have a weakness as well?. He doesn't even seem to remember that he was wearing a robe and still dashed in to be with the lordess?
When Royal mother came in and saw him still by Lily's bedside and holding her hands through the intermittent pain, she frowned and drew him out, reluctantly letting her hand slip off as Kayden walked out.
But rather than go to his quarters, he stayed put at the door and would not go. His mother then yelled at him and asked if he wanted to prolong her pain?. Only then did Alpha Kayden stood up and go away.
He had hardly gotten to his quarter when Lily pushed the baby out. Royal mother carried the baby and saw it's a baby boy. She was glad and excited. Finally, she has a grandson.
A servant was sent to deliver the message to Alpha Kayden. The latter just kept pacing back and forth in the sitting room. He was so worried about Lily and his baby when the servant dashed in and bowed.
"Her majesty, the lordess gave birth to his highness a Son". Before the servant could ever get to finish his statement, Kayden Diego had dashed off to the Royal parents quarters. As soon as he arrived, he saw his mother holding a baby in swaddling clothes.
Alpha Kayden drew closer to his mother and the latter carefully placed the baby in his arms. He was completely fascinated by the beautiful face he's got. He held the baby close and smiled.
This was his own child. He's and Lily's. The baby opened his eyes. He had gray eyes and seemed very hairy. He looked reddish and soon a renting cry was heard "wah waaaah".
"You bring him already. He needs to be fed" Royal mother declared and took the baby away from Kayden's hands. He watched as his baby was taken in to Lily for feeding.
"Congratulations Son," Royal father said. He has been standing for a while and Kay didn't even notice. He was completely engrossed in staring at his Son. It's always like that.
When Kayden was born, he was literally shouting and jumping for joy. Then his own father was the alpha and he was just a future alpha at the time. He couldn't even eat. He was overjoyed at the time and seeing his Son now, having that feeling he once had, he knew how sweet the feeling was.
Kayden passed a sideways glance and saw his father. He smiled and didn't know what to say or do. He was very happy. "Thank you Father, you have no idea how happy I am," Kayden said.
"Of course I know exactly how happy you are. I was also very happy when the news of your birth reached me that fateful day" Royal father replied and placed his right hand on Kayden's bicep.
"You've made me proud Kay and I've never regretted that you are my Son. Don't forget that Child is a combination of power and immortality. Please pay close attention to him" Royal father whispered.
"Yes father, and thank you" Kayden responded. His father smiled and he also smiled and both of them hugged each other. Royal mother came out again and saw father and Son just refraining from each other's embrace, she smiled.
The feelings that men have whenever their wives give birth to their children, cannot be overestimated. It's the same among the old and young alike, in all generations as well. "Kay, you can go in and see the lordess now," the Royal mother declared.
Kayden immediately went in. On the bed lay Lily. She smiled when she saw Kayden. He walked over to her and held her hand. He raised it to his mouth and kissed it. He just stared at Lily with a broad smile.
"Thank you" the word slipped out of his mouth. Very soon the news of the lordess' delivery was littering the entire clan. Everyone was happy. The young master had arrived, the future lord of the Middleton pack.
The Child was named Alvan Diego. And within a week, he had grown like a baby of several months. His growth was fast and special. He was a special child and Kayden was not surprised at all at his rapid growth.
In Imperial city, Anna Brook had written down some important facts about Lily's death and even made a voice recording. She kept the real copy with her lawyer and other copies with a journalist and a reporter friend of hers. On the instruction that if anything happens to her, or they received a sudden news of her death, the information should be brought to the air.
When she got home that day, she met her mother in law and Damian in the sitting room. They both seemed engrossed in their discussion that none of them spared her a glance.
She gave a grin. Damian hadn't seen her for a long time. The last time they saw each other was before she gave birth. Throughout the recovery period, she didn't get to see him nor did he even place a call across to her.
She's been back for over a week and she's just getting to see him. Rather than show concern towards her, he pretended not to see her and was chatting and smiling with his mother.
She couldn't endure the humiliation anymore. She stamped her feet on the floor and called out his name " Damian Cross!!". The latter reluctantly turned to look at her. His eyes were cold and carried a killing intent.
He stared at Anna Brook with pure contempt. " What do you want?" Damian Cross asked. His voice filled with irritation. "What do I want? Can you hear yourself when you talk? When was the last time you and I got to see each other?" Anna Brook inquired.
"If someone pretends not to see you, you start announcing your miserable presence" Damian Cross blurted out. He can't imagine what attracted this filth to him in the first place.
"Have you lost it Damian? You called my presence miserable? Oh!!, I didn't know my presence was miserable when you always sneaked out of your home to find me to meet you to give you a good fuck. Was I miserable when I carried your baby in my belly for a period of nine months?" She was now yelling.
She almost lost her life in that labor room all because his mother would not sign the consent form for an operation to be performed on her. Because of her negligence and his irresponsible act', she lost their child.
Damian couldn't even console her nor even asked how she's doing. Does any of them know how she got home that day? The chauffeur was not allowed to come pick her on the excuse that he was going to buy an ice cream for Damian's mother. But when she arrived, she discovered that the chauffeur went nowhere.
She went through her healing period. Healing of her broken heart on the loss of her baby and the healing of her body. Now seeing her after so many days, he said her presence was miserable.
"You were miserable back then and even to this very minute, you're still miserable to me. When next you try interrupting me when I am in the middle of a discussion, I will beat the daylight out of you" Damian threatened. Such an idiot. She was pregnant with a girl child and still lost the baby. What was she good for then?
"You want to become a wife beater? You are insane Damian. You should be asking how I sailed through the emotional torture of losing our child or how I was feeling after the operation. But no, you only know that you have a mother to always discuss with.
I dare you Damian to try and raise your hand up at me and you'll know what I am capable of doing. Don't make a mistake by thinking I am like that weakling Lily, that you murdered in cold blood" Anna Brook retorted.
"Watch your words Anna Brook" Damian warned, pointing his index finger at her. He stood up and frowned. "Or what, what can you do to me Damian? Huh.. What can you do? I am not Lily, that you silence for real and went away without being caught. If you try that with me, you will end up in the gallows" Anna Brook threatened.
Damian's mother jumped up "unfilial wife. You dare to threaten your husband? Are you in any way better than Lily? Oh my fault, I should never have supported my Son to be married to you".
Just then, Damian's father arrived. He was hearing quarrells from the house. He looked at the faces of Damian and Anna. These two were in a hot argument and contention when he came in.
"Damian, divorce this woman at once. She's become too disrespectful" Damian's mother requested. Anna bursted into an exaggerated laughter. She sank into the sofa and crossed her legs.
Stared at Damian and his mother in utmost contempt, she sneered "I am not so easy to be trampled on like Lily. Henceforth the rules in the house changes. First, the family purse comes to me! Secondly, your mother leaves this house and if she wants to stay, she bows and takes orders from me. Last and not the least, you must consult me before making or taking any decisions henceforth, either concerning the Cruz cooperation and your entire life" Anna Brook outlined.
She sat with confidence and it's now her turn to wear a grin. But hers was a wicked grin. Damian Cross and his parents just stood and glared at the woman seated. What nonsense is she sprouting?. Who the hell does she think she is?
"It looks like your butterfly has grown thick wings," Damian stated. She dares to dictate arrogantly. She wants to control the affairs of the entire house and not his alone?.
"You have overestimated yourself Damian. But you can afford to dare me and let's see what happens?" Anna Brook was daring him. He had taught her to be brutal and now, she'll become ruthless to protect herself and avenge her dead baby.
Damian's mother yelled at her son to throw Anna Brook out. As always, Damian stepped forward to do his mother's bidding. But without any slight show of fear, Anna clicked on the play button on her recorder"
Damian froze.
