I woke up early today. I took a quick shower and changed into a black lagging and a black tee. I sat on the bed with my book, waiting for the knock to echo in the silence. I wanted to stay inconspicuous but that seemed impossible when I was surrounded by werewolves with incredible strength and powers. I wanted to finish the book as soon as possible, but the fat book always challenged me.
I couldn't concentrate on the book. I didn't know. Where is Dastien? Indeed, I don't know anything about him, his business. Is he a student or a professor or just a residency here like Mr Wolfe? I shouldn't... I couldn't even bring it on the tip of my tongue. Emotions have died inside me after seeing my mother. She is still crazily in love with him. It took me years to build myself, never let anything affect him. Dastien broke into my heart easily, more easily than easy. I act like a crazy pup around him.
I was unexpectedly annoyed at myself. I should control my feelings.
A soft knock came. I opened the door immediately. I was hoping for him outside my door.
When I turned the doorknob and pulled it open. Daniel was looking down at his wrist.
"Good morning, Dan." I smiled.
He looked up and arched his brows. The creaking of the doors got my attention. Silver and Elizabeth walked out of their rooms at the same time, dolled up from a photoshoot in the gym. They are gorgeous.
"Dan!" Elizabeth clicked her tongue with a smirk. She turned to me, "Good morning, Emma."
"Morning, Betty," I turned to Silver, "Morning, Silver, " I offered my best smile.
"Morning, girls." She threw her arm around my shoulder and tugged me toward the stairs.
I looked over my shoulder at Daniel. He shook his head and began to walk behind us.
"Den. Why didn't I think this?" It suited his personality. " Elizabeth giggled. There was a kind of glint in her eyes. I couldn't understand. Perhaps she likes him. I don't know.
"I'm hearing," Daniel said from behind in his usual tone, deep voice.
"Oh! So sweet, Den," Silver giggled.
I was expecting a glare from him but I saw his lips curling slightly.
We strode toward the gym. Silver and Elizabeth were discussing their schedule.
I stepped into the gym.
A smile broke over my face when I saw him sitting on the bench with dumb-bell. They were looking heavy. I could see his veins bulging out, showing his strength. His head snapped at the door. His smile was visible from this corner, though, it was a slight twitch.
My heart thudded as I kept looking at him. I held my breath when I saw Samantha sitting next to him on the bench. She was wearing shorts like Silver and Elizabeth, but her blouse was short with a deep cut neck. She placed her hand on his biceps. I swallowing hard as if something was stuck in my throat,
The room felt airless, making my breathing difficult. I stood there with shaking hands.
"Hi," I heard Carlos.
I forced myself to look away and smiled at him, "Good morning," I said what came to mind first.
Carlos looked at Dastien. His face wasn't showing any sign, "Dastien or me?" He asked with a smirk.
"Hi, girls!" Samantha waved at Silver and Elizabeth. Her lips thinned when she looked at me. She couldn't hide her disgust.
"Of course, you," I said and walked toward Daniel.
"King," Samantha called to Dastien.
Her words from the cafeteria hit me. They know each other. She looks so close to him.
My chest was painfully tight as I made my way toward Daniel at the other end of the hall.
"Let's start from walking. Follow us, Em." Daniel used my short name. My attention was on Samantha and Dastien. It'd be better if I'd gone somewhere else. Their closeness. It's choking me.
"Hm," I sauntered behind him, out of the gym.
I hadn't completed the first round of the building when the guy with Rare eyes joined us. I slowed my speed. They were faster than me. It must be their fourth or fifth round.
"Drake, she's Emma. Our proclaimed doll." Carlos chuckled.
I felt a strong desire to punch him. But it would only hurt my hand. So I dropped it.
"Emma, Drake." Carlos continued.
"Hi," I smiled. Daniel didn't introduce us last night. I didn't know the reason. Perhaps he didn't think I'm worthy. Or he wouldn't be a good person. I don't know.
He nodded dryly and began his run. Now I had a reason for - not the introduction by Daniel. I shrugged my shoulders to myself and began my second round. I began to run again with the determination to complete them.
After completing five rounds, I sat on the last step and took deep breaths, my chest going up and down in a rhythm.
"Here," Drake said, holding out his water bottle.
I stared at him for a moment. Reluctantly, I grabbed the bottle, "Thank you," I took a long sip immediately. I closed my eyes. I was so thirsty.
My eyes opened and my head jerked. Samantha was walking leisurely with Dastien, a hug grin tugged over her face. I caught his gaze on me. I clenched my jaw when she placed her hand on his arm, leaning closer to him. Her cleavage on display.
"Can't you wear decent clothes," I shivered, hearing the angry voice of Drake.
Samantha's face crumbled in anger, "Mind your business, Drake. We're werewolves."
"That doesn't mean you'll wander like this in front of your brother," Daniel stepped next to him, "You can have your romantic life somewhere in private." Daniel looked between them.
A low growl left Dastien's throat. I didn't want to look at him. He was with me a few days ago and now he was hanging around with his girlfriend. He must be thinking of me as a psycho, trailing behind him. Not anymore, I had learnt my lesson.
"Mind your own business, Daniel and dear brother." her voice was taunting.
Drake glared at her, his eyes glowed, "Don't forget to whom you're talking." His voice was impossibly dangerous.
I heard her feet stomping away. I couldn't stop the tears gathering in my eyes. He was looking at me with his green eyes shamelessly.
What kind of a jerk he is? His girlfriend stomped away and he's looking at me. I hold myself from popping out my tongue at him.
Drake cleared his throat. I broke the gaze and looked up at him, "You look drained, kiddo. Let's eat." Drake said, ruffling my hair. That was something new. It didn't feel odd. But it astounded me.
"I'm starving too," Carlos said, stopping at my side. He bent slightly and held my arm to pull me to my feet.
A wave of heat hit me, making my skin goosebumps, it also followed by a loud predatory growl. I shivered, my head jerked at him. His eyes glowed burning flames.
Carlos withdrew his hand and say something I couldn't understand, "Calme toi, mon frère,"
The tense air felt enclosing us. I got on my feet and held out my hand giving back the bottle. Drake grasped it immediately.
I stormed away from them, my heart pounding furiously in my chest. They could handle their issues. I didn't wanna witness anything.
I clenched my hands. I wasn't sure why I was so angry. It was all of a sudden. Samantha's hand on his arm, it was nagging me. I was in a constant battle with myself. I had to stop thinking about him.
A hand grabbed me from behind and pulled me into the dark corner. I opened my mouth to yell. A strong hand clamped over my mouth. I panicked and began to pull him away with full force.
"Hi," I couldn't recognize the voice. He was a stranger for sure.
I screamed, trying to see his face. Tears split down my eyes.
"Who's there?" I heard a female voice full of authority.
I tried to scream again. My voice was muffled behind his hand. He was smelling worse as something rotten. I tried to bite his hand.
His loud laughter made the air more horrible. Something hard collided with us. The man flew away from me. I fell on the floor under the impact of a strong hit.
I looked at the Silver beautiful wolf, "Silver," I Inhaled in relief. Tears washed my cheeks. She threw her head back and howled loudly.
Dread flared through my body. I didn't know what was happening. I looked at my capture. He was handsome, tall and lean, wearing a full-length black coat. His eyes were red as he smirked at us, darkly, showing two fangs.
She bared her teeth at him. She could tear him into pieces.
"Emma, let's go," I screamed when two hands landed on my shoulders. My head jerked up. Elizabeth was looking down at me.
"Silver,"
"She's fine. She'll be fine." Elizabeth said. She was looking unbelievably calm. My hands were shivering.
"She's not alone," I followed Elizabeth's gaze. I gulped seeing the black wolf and grey wolf with rare eyes was Drake, Brown wolf with amber eyes was Carlos, dark grey wolf was Daniel. I recognized them with their eyes. Their eyes turned amber.
My body was trembling under her hands. I didn't protest when she led me away from them toward our dorm.
My top was drenched with sweat, I was feeling cold and the next moment I felt my body on fire. My hands were trembling badly.
Elizabeth was walking fast back and forth, her forehead was wrinkled, anger could be seen in her eyes.
I was a bundle of dread and nervousness. I wanted to shoot on my feet and rushed out. Elizabeth was also looking uneasy. She kept on pacing, biting her nail.
"I saw his fangs," A shuddering breath left my body.
"Me too. I don't know. How did he breach the security." Her pace quickened.
"Betty!" She stopped to look at me, "Silver! And others?" I couldn't complete my words. Tears streamed down my face.
She stopped at me and smiled, "You're talking about the Alphas. They are unmatched."
I believe her but I can't control the fear brewing inside me.
The door of the washroom opened. I got on my feet as Silver walked in. My gaze was inspecting for any sign of injury. She was looking fine.
"Why are you crying?" Her lips pressed together.
"See! Nothing to worry about." Elizabeth said, offering a soft smile.
"Why are you crying? Did he hurt you?" she was angry suddenly.
"No," I shook my head.
Another shiver ran down her body when the door opened with a thud. All heads turned to them. Dastien, Carlos, Daniel walked in.
I sniffed back fresh tears at the sight of him. I looked at Dastien for any sight of injury, he was also running his gaze on me.
I let out a deep breath when he was fine. I glanced at Carlos and Daniel, "No harm. Right?" I asked.
"No harm," Carlos replied.
"Drake" I looked at the door.
"He's out to inform Alessandro and check the security," Daniel said.
Forcing all my worries aside, I sat down again. My body was feeling heavy to me. One moment I was feeling cold and the next hot. I was angry at him for confusing me, things were really complicated. I didn't understand. From where should I start to correct them?
"Boys are not allowed in the girls' dormitory," I said, looking at them.
They looked back. Dastien stepped ahead, "Are you alright?" He asked, his gaze and eyes softened.
"Why do you care? Pay attention to your girlfriend. Good for your future, you know." I said, shrugging my one shoulder, avoiding to glance his way. I got a feeling in the pit of my stomach that I shouldn't say so. What did he expect? That wasn't a proper kiss but... I shook my head. He took advantage of my feelings for him, make fun of me.
He must be used to walking in a room and being the centre of attention. Girls like him. He isn't getting any special treatment from me.
He jammed his fisted hand at the wall, making a loud thud echoing in the room. I was hoping for a hole in the wall.
"Concrete walls!" Carlos chuckled.
Glancing over at him, I let out a sigh. It was bothering me to see him in a sour mood. He made me cry. He could have said hello to me. My eyes looked at his white knuckles. Werewolves' healing power repaired the bruises over his knuckles. I hadn't done anything to earn this. My heart hurt to see him with Samantha. I gained a lot of feelings for him in a short period. Too impossible but it's true.
"Emma," His gaze was holding a warning.
"That's too much," I returned the stare.
A wave of heat hit me hard, making me stumble back. I looked at my friends. Their expressions were horrible near my expression when I saw a vampire attacking me.
He growled at me. I waited to see the fire in his eyes. It appeared, burning fire. I smiled. He let out a harsh breath, "Show me your arm," He asked, extending his hand.
My brows furrowed in confusion, "Why? I'm not offering you myself as your breakfast," My attention divided. I felt pain and burning again. I stared at him and then down at my inner wrist. There were scratches of nails, "What are you?" I hadn't read anything about his powers yet. Indeed, there was nothing related to him, kings of shifters. Only a mate could know in case his mate would be in trouble or they were connected in any way, like this group of seven alphas. They could speak to each other without speaking. I wasn't from their group. His powers aren't limited to his kind.
His lips pressed together. He grabbed my arm and turned.
Elizabeth and Silver gasped, looking at the scratches. It was looking ugly against my skin - dark purples turning black.
"Vampire's poison. We should take her to Mrs Grey." Elizabeth rushed to my side.
"I'm perfectly fine," I said, trying to free my wrist.
"Are you?" His voice was low, his lips barely moved, eyes glowed fire.
I felt nauseated. My head swayed. His arm curled around me. I placed my head on his chest, "What are you doing?" my body felt three times heavier to me. His arm was holding me.
"He's helping you," Silver said.
He scooped me up. I closed my eyes as the world around me began to revolve. I covered my mouth, "I'm going to be sick."
"Keep your eyes close," His voice was commanding, but saccharine.
I couldn't think of anything to go against. I kept my eyes closed, drifting toward the dark.
