I woke up, my forehead covered with sweat, my breathing was deep. I was dreaming about the black wolf, his forest-green eyes never leaving me.
I rubbed my fingers, closing my eyes. I felt my heart pounding. It felt as real as I was standing in front of him and he was watching me. He howled, I wanted to howl with him.
"I don't even know. What does he look like?"
I pushed myself out of the bed. I needed to shower first. There was no uniform code.
I jerked my top-down and pushed my hair back. I gathered them in my hand and rolled them in a bun above my head. My chest was hurting but it wasn't that bad.
I took the schedule in my hand, "Maths, chem, English, Latin. Yoga? Martial arts? History of the Were?" Some subjects were completely weird.
I headed out. Every other girl and boy in here looked like they could be models. They're werewolves with strength and freaking minds. I was judging it after seeing Silver's action.
I pressed the button of the elevator. The twin sisters were wearing blue today. They looked at me with no expression. I was waiting for them to come and stop me. They just stayed there, looking at me.
The elevator opened, emerging Silver. She smiled at me.
Oh! No! I wanted to run back to my room. Her smile was friendly. I had chores to do. I just couldn't skip it because of her or I could call it my fear.
My eyes widened in fear. I lifted my feet to recoil back. Her slender hand already grabbed my wrist and tugged me in, "Why are you holding your books?" She grabbed them from me, "It's your first day, right?"
"Why are you doing this? Trying to be so nice to me?" She was holding my wrist. Instead of pulling back, I was waiting for her nails to draw blood, her to claw at me.
She spun, her expressions were serious, "I'm sorry what I did. I really wanna be your friend. Can you give me a chance?" She asked, batting her long lashes.
I glanced at her in disbelief, "It's not a trick to trap me." I swallowed, "To kill me," My voice turned into a whisper.
She scowled, "You are not a threat. And you need strong friends like me," She said, smiling double this time.
"Really?" I folded my arms, frowning at her.
She arched her brows, copying my style. I deflated and flattened my lips, "Yeah! Don't be my friend if you're not feeling it from the core of your heart,"
A smile broke across her face and she curled her arm around my shoulder, "You won't regret our friendship." She cooed.
The door opened, "Why did it take so much time?" I frowned at the elevator's door, "Did you enchant?" I asked. I wasn't certain about it.
"No, you have better things to think about, Emma." She tugged me out, slinging my bag over her second shoulder. My old bag was looking strange over her shoulder. She was doped with costly clothes.
"Why are we going into the cafeteria? We'll get late?" I told her, trying to match my steps with her graceful pace.
She looked at her wrist, "We have a lot of time," She muttered.
"You should give my bag to me," I asked.
She shook her head, "It's not heavy."
"You've been here for a long time," I asked.
"Yes, my dad is alpha." She said, proudly.
"Alpha?" I asked dumbfoundedly. Now I was wishing to read the werewolf book.
"Like a king in the human world." She flashed a big grin over her shoulder at me.
"Are you a princess?" My feet halted.
She giggled, "Every girl is her father's princess. You must be too."
My face fell. She didn't need to know about my family. I shook off my thoughts, "Are you really my friend?" I asked.
Her icy blue eyes narrowed at me, "What do you want me to do?" She asked.
I shrugged my shoulders, gazing around. No one was paying attention to us, "Nothing much, just want to know something,"
"You're also a student. I will tell you everything. You don't worry." she began her pace again.
I made a face and stood my ground, "Who's the black werewolf?" I wanted to know about him, see him. I hugged him last night. If he was a boy, it would be my first hug.
She left my wrist and faced me, "Why do you want to know about him?" She asked, her tone turned suspicious.
"I saw him last night." My voice was hesitating. I wasn't good at lying.
She folded her arms and her gaze was penetrating on me, "And? Weren't you supposed to go to your room directly?" She asked.
I shrugged my shoulders again and began to walk. She spun to me and shook her head, "You need to tell me. If you want to know."
'I don't know. I should trust her with my secret. She tried to kill me. I shouldn't forget this.'
"Nothing," I sighed.
"It's okay if you don't wanna tell. You're not good at lying anyway." Her lips pressed slightly.
"Yeah!" I cast my eyes low, entering the cafeteria, "People will call me crazy for walking with my death," I hid myself behind her.
"No one is saying anything to you." She glared at the students.
She scared me the most. How would we be friends? No one would bully me. Hope so!
"At least, you can tell me a little about him," I said.
She tilted her head slowly and a smile appeared on her face, "You really like him. I can smell." She sniffed the air around me with curled lips.
My eyes widened, "I don't know. What are you talking about?"
She tugged me toward the table, "You were scared a few minutes ago. We can smell emotions too." She winked at me and placed the backpacks on the table and took the chair.
"You're kidding me," I took the next chair and tried to stop my emotions from showing on my face. Shock!
She giggled, "You can't hide them." She glanced into my eyes for a second, "I'll tell you a little. But I'll tell you everything when you'll trust me like a true friend." She said,
I scratched the side of my head and nodded, "Ok,"
"He's the strongest alpha in the world," She said and got on her feet.
I stayed still in my seat, waiting for her to tell me more. Pushing myself up, I scurried behind her, "And?" I demanded. A smile appeared on my face.
She stopped behind a few students, "We shouldn't be late for our classes. Come, the queue isn't that long." She said loudly and male students looked back at us. They moved aside, making way for us to the counter, "Thanks, boys." She smiled but it was for show.
Boys bowed their heads and stood behind me. That was strange.
"Why were they bowing to you?" I asked
"Because, I'm Alpha's mate." She said, proudly and affection flashing in her eyes.
It put me into deep thoughts, "Alessandro," I murmured, fearfully. Last time, she almost killed me for saying his name.
"Yes," She shoved the plate in my hands. She piled it on mashed potatoes with gravy and rice, rolls, pasta and everything else within reach onto my plate until my tray was fully loaded down.
"I can't finish this alone," I said, looking at the pile.
"You're joining, martial art. You need to eat more. You'll be on the ground in a few seconds." She shook her head in disapproval.
"You won't tell me about him," I asked again.
Smiling, she shook her head, "I'm really sorry. You have to wait until you trust me, Emma Nelson," she patted the side of my arm.
We were alone at the table. Silver didn't wait for me to begin and she attacked her food. I looked at her. She didn't seem to notice me, "Where are your friends?" I asked her.
"I have no friends." She kept on eating.
"You're kidding," I leaned over my plate.
She looked up at me, "There was one. She stayed for a week and then left." Her voice was saddened.
"And you didn't try to befriend anyone. Because it hurts." I asked.
"I love her like my sister." Her shoulders sagged.
I nodded in understanding and grabbed the fork.
After attending three classes continuously, I was feeling tired. I wasn't paying attention. I wanted to skip Latin class. I was excited to learn a new language. Professor called it the language of dead people. I didn't know the specific reason yet. Soon I would.
While walking toward the door, my eyes squeezed shut in pain as my shoulder collided with someone.
"Are you okay? "
When I opened my eyes, dark green eyes were looking at me. For one second, I hoped they belonged to the black wolf. Her eyes were dark, his eyes were forest green, giving me the feeling of being in the jungle. I wasn't feeling the tug in my heart. So it wasn't him.
I placed my hand over my chest to stop the pain from spreading in my body. I nodded.
Her dark hair is straight, an oval face, red lips, she's the prettiest girl I have ever seen. She walked into the classroom.
I dropped my backpack from my shoulder. I leaned against the wall, I was waiting for Silver. We have the same classes after three classes.
"What are you doing outside?" Silver asked, frowning.
My shoulder was paining, "Waiting for you," I said and hauled the bag with me inside.
"That's so sweet of you, " I heard her cheerful voice from behind, "Why are you carrying...." Her voice was cut off when another cheerful tone called her name.
I spun. The same girl who hit me was engulfing Silver, "I missed you like hell." She shouted in excitement.
"I can't believe it's you, Betty." Silver pulled back and looked at her with pure joy over her face.
"I wanna give you a surprise," She said.
"Emma, she's my friend. I was telling you about her in the cafeteria." Silver smiled the broadest one.
I smiled and nodded. Someone cleared the throat behind us.
"Oh, good afternoon, professor." Silver said, happily. She held my hand and pulled me with her.
My face contorted in pain. 'Gosh! I won't survive in this world.'
We sat on the last bench. I was enclosed by Silver and Elizabeth. They were talking non-stop, but I could still clearly hear the professor's voice.
