"You're weak. We will go some other day," Silver said. Worry covered her face.
' Why does it happen to me when I want to leave the academy? It feels academy is my safe shell or it's Dastien. '
"Please," I needed to see if Max was fine." I said.
"You don't need to be so stubborn." He laid me on the passenger seat.
I tried to move myself. My body felt in pain as I was beaten badly. I pushed myself in a sitting position.
' Am I cursed?' I kept the question to myself.
"Dastien, I wanna..." Sadness was expressive from my features.
"We'll go tomorrow, promise." Elizabeth smiled down at him.
"I'm seriously not going to talk to anyone, please. I'll be fine," I told them. I needed to go out.
His eyes reflected anger, "You're not fine," He gritted his teeth.
Igniting the car, he drove back to the academy. He got out of the car and walked around. I didn't agree to jump out of his car. He opened the door. His brows frowned. I refused to look at him. He scooped me up, "You can hang out at our place with your friends," He whispered.
"Yes, SevenA is a private place. No ears to hear us," Elizabeth tried to cheer my mood up.
"I wanna go out." Tears welled in my eyes.
"We can skip our classes today. We can shop online." Silver suggested.
Alessandro and Edward stayed behind. Dastien carried me to his home. Silver and Elizabeth were walking boxing us.
"No," I said without mulling over the offer.
"You're not going to hear us," Silver asked.
"Put me down. All are staring." I lowered my lashes as the first tear rolled down.
Dastien growled and used his speed, leaving Silver and Elizabeth behind with shocked expressions.
When he stopped we were in his room. I dared to look at him when he reclined me down on the king-size bed. Rage filled his beautiful features. I should be scared but he seemed me se**. His aggressive sight made me suppress the sigh aching to escape my lips.
"I'm feeling better. Please." I pleaded with watery eyes.
"It ain't getting you anywhere," He growled again but his eyes turned soft.
"I am seriously not talking to you." I said, pushing myself against the headboard.
He arched his brows, "You and me. We're going out for a walk in the evening," He said, lowering himself and looking in my eyes. His deep and rich and odd voice sent shivers down my spine.
It was tempting, "No," I wasn't going to hear.
"You're angry now. We'll talk later," He kissed my head.
My stomach rumbled that moment to remind me it was empty too.
"Knock! Knock!" Elizabeth said, her eyes closed.
I rolled my eyes. Silver giggled, "I'm hungry," She said.
"Me too," I added.
"We'll be back soon." Elizabeth hauled Silver out of the room.
I started to panic all the time and I couldn't understand why. He looked at me and blinked as he hadn't expected it. Well! Me too.
"See you soon," I wanted time to understand what had just happened. I should be in the hospital if I was sick. I was feeling better now, in fact as nothing had happened.
My questioning eyes met his. He could understand me more than anyone, "We'll talk," His words were promising. Showing his back he strode toward the door.
Silver and Elizabeth walked in immediately. Silver placed the tray on the nightstand. They slid under the sheet with me.
"Are you feeling better?" Elizabeth asked.
I nodded, "They never allowed me to go out. Only with Dastien, just once when he attended Max's wedding."
"You're safe in here," Silver held my hand.
"There's no one out there. Who can hurt me." I said, a little harshly. But it wasn't for Silver.
"What do you want to know?" Elizabeth asked.
"Humans can be our mate. It happens rarely." Silver replied.
"Will he..." I gulped, "I have seen the moon ceremony."
"And that scares you?" Elizabeth asked, swivelling her neck.
"Yes," I admitted.
They exchanged looks but didn't stretch the topic for a moment, "It's beautiful as a wedding. You need to strengthen your bond with him." Silver said, her icy blue eyes never left me.
Strong my bond! Ok! They're talking about s**.
"I'm not ready for that. But I love to be around him. A large part of me wants that too. Though, I'm not ready," I said in the most innocent tone.
"It's the bond. Here," Elizabeth patted her chest, blushing.
"Why didn't you tell me first Edward is your mate?" I pretended to glare at them.
"I wasn't certain because my magic was blocked." Elizabeth exhaled, looking suddenly very tired.
"Hi! I want to know everything. everything," I demanded.
Silver yawned, "I can't believe we are in King's bedroom. I shouldn't be feeling sleepy."
I giggled, "It's not his bedroom. It's at the end of the hallway." The room was showing some colours, red carpets, white couches, white walls.
"I'll explain everything to her. Go to sleep," Elizabeth patted her shoulder, encouraging her.
"Yeah, thanks," Silver closed her eyes, sliding deeper under the sheet.
I gave her a warm smile before she closed her eyes. Elizabeth began by telling me the beautiful view of the jungle. She kept talking and I heard her mostly holding my breath.
My stomach made a greedy noise again, "Wait," I pushed myself out, careful not to wake her up.
I grabbed the tray and crept up to the bed and snuggled myself underneath. I grabbed the sandwich and pushed the tray at her. She grabbed the bowl of salad. I moaned as I took a big bite. I motioned her to start. I finished it quickly and laid back against the pillows. She kept me on my toes telling me about demons and creatures, vampires and wild wolves.
"My magic is suppressed," Elizabeth said.
I bolted up in a sitting position, "Suppressed magic? What's that mean?" I asked. My gaze landed on Silver. They were tired after their long trip and Silver nodded off.
" Jones said, something's amiss."
"Jones! The fae? " She nodded immediately. My eyebrows furrowed more, bending I tried to think. Nothing was making sense these days.
"Amiss?" I asked, when I couldn't come up with the best answer,
"Something is preventing my magic from coming out." She said.
I felt the hair on my arms rising in unknown dread. "What could be so powerful to prevent the magic? How?" My eyes were big when I looked at her. My heart was drumming.
She giggled and showed me her palm. I gasped when there was light blue smoke in her palm, "He unlocked my magic." She giggled.
I smiled, "Would that I could see it too."
"It was a spell. But it wasn't that strong. He was about to break through it to release my power."
I curled my arms around her, taking her in a tight embrace. When I pulled back. Her eyes were watered, "What happened?" I asked.
"Samantha is bullying you?"
I snorted, "That isn't a big deal."
"I was so worried about you today. We didn't wanna leave you behind. But your health is important to us."
"Yeah! I acted stupidly." I admitted.
"You're just stubborn. That you don't hesitate to show it to King either," Silver said, her eyes were still closed.
"Hey! You're not sleeping." I muttered.
She shot up in a sitting position and grabbed the plate from us and put it aside. She hurried over to wrap me in one of her bear hugs, "No one would bully you." Her anger could be felt from her voice.
Elizabeth flitched a cookie and began to nibble on it, "Girls, try these chocolate cookies. They are yummy."
We pulled back and looked at her, "There are still a lot of questions." I said.
"Hit them," Silver said, holding a cookie for me.
"Thanks," I took it from her.
"Emma, I strongly believe you should read the book. That would help you a lot." Elizabeth suggested.
"I'm almost done. Only a few pages left." I smiled.
"I guess you know everything about werewolves." Silver smiled.
I placed the cookie back and twisted my hands nervously, "You're just nervous. That's all." Elizabeth muttered.
I let out a little sigh, "I'm worried about Max and Grace too."
"Who are they?" Elizabeth asked.
"I know Max," Silver thinned her lips.
"Grace is his mate. They were helping me, answering my query but Dastien came from nowhere and he asked Max to meet him with his father. " I said.
"When Dastien is involved. I can understand you. Werewolf never hurts their mate," A grin breaks out across her face.
My grin matched her, "Can we sleep or go out?" I gave them options.
"Let's go out for a run," Silver climbed out of the bed.
I nodded excitedly and jumped out of bed behind them.
I sat up and rubbed my bleary eyes. Silver and Elizabeth were boxing me. I glanced at the clock. It was five o'clock in the evening. I began to hear the heartbeat. It wasn't mine. Mine was running on the treadmill. I looked at my friends. Their hearts were beating in a soft rhythm. I wasn't a werewolf. I shouldn't hear voices from afar.
I followed the soft sound and it carried me to the living room. The room where I drank hot chocolate with Dastien. I was also frightened as it was new.
My fear faded and a smile broke on my face, "You're home."
The corners of his lips curled up fully. I shouldn't say so. But I wouldn't be able to see him smiling then.
"Yes, I'm home." He smirked.
With more strides closer to him, let me know it was his soft heart beat with my erotic heartbeat that I heard a few seconds ago. A smile tugged at my lips. He made things easy.
"I may sound crazy. But I can hear your softly beating heart," Hesitated, frightened of his reaction, I lifted my hand and placed it over his heart. My smile stretched when its speed was matching what I was hearing, "Is it a mate thing?" I asked, glancing up at him.
My smile faded when there was no expression on his face. I withdrew my hand, feeling nervous and frightened not seeing a smile on his face.
He grabbed my hand, "There are a lot of things for you to learn." He said.
"I'll still be human if...." I batted my lashes.
(We'll go through the moon ceremony. If we get close?) My eyes dilated. I didn't think so. It wasn't a normal thing to hear a heartbeat from so far away.
I pulled myself back. His hand squeezed my hand stopping me from going away, "Bloodlines, born with the gift, bitten and there are many reasons a human could be turned." He said.
"You're born with a gift," I knew this.
He smiled, "More than just that. It's not a bad thing." He tugged me to his lap and curled his arms around me.
"I don't wanna think about this." I wasn't prepared. It wasn't in my mind. His forehead creased a little but he didn't complain, "Are we going out for a walk?" I asked, smiling.
His smile, happiness is everything to me. If he wants it I will. But just right now, I'm not ready. It gives me goosebumps.
He tugged me up on my feet. Elizabeth and Silver walked ahead of us.
