I ended my class with Sisily soon today. walking back to my room, I strode toward the SevenA. I just wanted to make sure. I wasn't dreaming that night. I blew out the breath through my mouth.
'You should bring back his blanket.' My head shook. The voice was always weak but I understood it clearly.
'And said what?' I frowned.
My gaze rested at the back side of the beautiful houses of the Alphas. I took a deep breath, inhaling the flower-scented in the air.
I strode toward them without giving a second thought. It could be a restricted area or a private garden of SevenA.
I walked deeper and sat on the bench. I smiled at the sight of a well-taken care garden, hundreds of flowers. It could be herbs or some magical flowers. I hadn't read about it yet. It fell silent except for the occasional chirping songbird and soft blowing air. I smiled.
"Students aren't allowed here," Someone snapped, sounding irritated.
I got on my feet with a jerk. A set of icy blue eyes was glaring down at me.
"I didn't know," I said, feeling a little scared
"I can..." He clamped his mouth shut, his irritating gaze turned impassive.
"Emma, we're finding you on the entire campus," Elizabeth's voice came, sending the feeling of relief through my body.
I walked around the bench and threw my arms around her, "You guys are so careless." I pulled myself immediately back and stared at her.
She gave me an apologetic look, "I'm sorry. We were in hurry,"
I shook my head. I wasn't going to accept her apology this time, "You didn't leave any note. So cruel." My lips flattened.
My heart began to race when I saw Dastien walking our way with Silver and Alessandro. I looked away instantly. My cheeks turned crimson. A part of me relaxed feeling extremely happy found him around.
He brought me home last night. After hot chocolate, he ignored me as I was the one invading his privacy.
"See you soon." I turned to the icy blue, "I truly didn't know this is a private place. You can complain against me. The headmaster is here." I waited for a second. Then began to walk away.
"Emma, stop," Silver began to pace toward me.
"You guys are not my friends," It hurt to say but I said. I wanted to walk away as far as I could. Things were getting complicated.
"Emma," I heard his soft voice.
I quickened my pace. I was feeling hurt, going away. I heard whispers behind me but I wasn't fully concentrating to understand anything. I kept my gaze on the path.
I hit my shoulder and stumbled back. The grip on my shoulders stopped me from falling. I looked up and Max's face was blurry.
"What happened?" His thumb swiped on my cheek as he stepped so close that I felt his hot breath on my face. He could kiss me easily. His every exhale was hitting hard on my face. His breath was so hot. His gaze suspiciously looked at me to answer.
Someone growled behind me. I trembled.
I gasped when Max was peeled off from me and yanked away harshly. He rolled away from me and hit his back with the trunk of a tree with such force that the tree broke, falling to the opposite side.
I didn't need to turn to look at him. I felt him around me, "He was just helping me, Dastien." I rushed forward. My heart was beating in my throat. Colours drained from my face. I lifted my foot to help Max. Silver and Elizabeth stopped me immediately.
Dastien was so swift and agile. He launched forward, exasperated, reaching in front of him. Max was curled into a ball, holding his stomach with both hands where Dastien kicked him.
"Elle est à moi," His roar plus howl echoed in the entire campus, making the birds fly in the air because of dread. I moved closer to Silver and Elizabeth in dread. I couldn't see his face, his body language was only speaking violence.
"Take her to her room," Alessandro said, looking down at my shivering hands.
"No," Icy blue said, "She can calm his beast."
I spun, horror clenching my features, "What do you mean by beast. He's a werewolf." I muttered.
"Go closer to him. He won't harm you. Place your hands on his chest and look into his eyes. It's very simple." Elizabeth whispered hurriedly in my ears.
My dilated eyes turned to her. I shook my head.
"You have to. Before he burns everything down." Silver's voice was full of fear.
"Oh No!" I scurried forward without fearing the result, "Dastien, your hands are burning." I removed my jacket. I tried to quench the fire. It was burning around his hands, I could clearly see his fisted hands through the crystal clear burning fire.
My jacket burnt to ashes when it connected with the fire. I panicked and stumbled back, big eyes staring at his hands.
' Beast! I have to calm him.' The voice rose inside me.
I placed my hands over his chest. His head jerked down at me. His gaze, hard expression, everything was speaking rage. I didn't flinch and looked into his fire glowing eyes. His eyes were of burning fire's colour not green anymore. I looked into his eyes.
After staring at me with a cold expression for never-ending minutes. He blinked swiftly and his eyes returned to the forest green colour.
The twist in his jaw explained his anger. His eyes moved behind me where Max was still curled into a ball.
"Merde!" He cursed and ran his hand in his hair and strode toward Max.
I looked at him in shock and fear holding me. He held out his hand. I couldn't hear them exchanging words.
"What has just happened?" I spun, demanding answers.
"Professor Donovan is back," Elizabeth said with a smile.
I arched my brows and looked at Alessandro. He shrugged his shoulders.
"You smell like anxiety, fear and..." I spun to Silver, gave her a look, "Angry, " she smiled.
"I'm talking to you both, Now," I muttered.
"We can't say anything," Elizabeth moved closer, moving her gaze around, "Not here," She rubbed my arm, sending positive energy.
"It always works with her," Silver told Alessandro when his brows shot up.
"Did I hurt you?" Suddenly his soft voice came from behind. I jumped on my feet, pivoting on my heels when his fingers brushed my back. I thought to escape, but he caged his arms around me, "Cherie," His voice was soft, caressing inside me.
"No, I..." I lowered my eyes. Didn't know how to take what I was feeling, affection, love.
He took my chin between his fingers and tilted, "Confused," Was he smelling my emotions too. Couldn't they act like humans around me? He smiled, shaking his head as he was answering my question.
"Max?" I asked,
"He's fine." He slipped his hand away.
"What is it?" I crossed my arms, mouth pressed in a thin line, "Are you jealous? Why?" I demanded.
"Go to your room." He said, commanding.
"No," I shook my head.
He stepped back from me and began to run to the opposite side. He leapt in the air and landed on the ground in wolf form.
' I have seen many wolves. He's the most beautiful. '
He looked back at me. His eyes glowed like fire. It was amazingly beautiful. I walked forward. I couldn't stop the pull I felt toward him.
Throwing his head back, he howled louder. I froze.
My heart began to pound in my chest. He spun and ran away. I felt pain in my chest. I wanted to wrap my arms around him.
I strode to the dormitory without looking back, "Don't follow me if you can't answer me," I said to them.
Silver curled her arms around me, making me stop, "We'll talk, promise," she said.
I saw Alessandro looking at Silver, his eyes explained his all emotions.
"Go, Elizabeth is with me," I said.
Elizabeth nodded but her eyes were on Icy-blue.
"Sure?" She asked.
I nodded. She walked toward Alessandro. He tugged her to his side and turned to the parking lot.
"You can go with him, too," I told Elizabeth.
"No," She squealed, looking between us, "I need to talk to you both." She said,
"Sure," They look at each other like no one else matters to them, "Well, I'm Edward David," He extended his hand at me.
"Emma Nelson," I took his hand and shook it.
"I guess, my place," Edward said, withdrawing his hand.
"Yes, I need privacy," Elizabeth said.
I couldn't look away from the wood where he disappeared. Elizabeth pulled me toward the SevenA.
I wondered when I entered. I took a deep, shuddering breath. It was the same as in Dastien' place, but not decorated as it was completely changed. I could see more colours.
"You should sit. It's warm here," Elizabeth pushed me toward the couch and they stayed on their feet near the table.
"Are you sure guys? I'm not disturbing you." I asked, looking at them.
They were behaving awkwardly as they didn't know what to do.
"Please, sit down," Elizabeth said, but her eyes were on him.
"Are you guys dating?" I didn't know but I hadn't seen this tradition here.
"H... he's my mate," Elizabeth said in a rush.
Edward let out a slow breath, looking at only one person in the room.
I say down without further question. They need to work on their relationship. They behaved like strangers around each other but the spark of something special couldn't be ignored.
Elizabeth sat on the next seat, "Are you sure you want me here?" I whispered, drawing my lips closer to her ear.
She nodded and drifted her gaze from me to Edward, "Yes," she spoke, fighting the blush.
Clearing his throat, Edward sat on the couch, adjusting his coat.
"Is he a businessman?" I whispered again.
"I can hear you, Emma." He said, with a slightly tilted head.
I toyed with my fingers nervously.
"Don't scare her," Elizabeth said, thinning her lips.
"What do you want to tell us?" He asked, directly coming to the point.
"My fae magic is blocked." She blurted.
"Oh!" I didn't know what that meant. It didn't sound good.
"What? Who did this to you?" Edward asked, getting angry. His eyes glowed amber, his hand fisted.
I slithered toward Elizabeth. She patted my shoulder, "I don't know. I have to go fae land," she said
' Fae Land? I'll ask later.'
Before I could ask anything, "You're not going anywhere, Beth. It's dangerous. I'm not letting you go again." Edward said, his forehead creased.
The tension in the air could cut the ice. I pushed myself up. Elizabeth clenched my wrist and pushed me down.
"You let me go. You couldn't accept us." She whispered- yelled at him.
"That's not true," He growled.
I patted on her hand to leave before she gave me a bruise.
"I came to you. But you don't care," Elizabeth yelled again.
"I do care. You're not going to that f****** place ever," He ordered.
It went dead silent. They stared at each other. I looked at the burning fire. I shouldn't be here. I could feel the pain starting where she was clenching my arm.
"You care?" She drew her face closer to mine, but it was actually to Edward as I was sitting between them.
"You're my mate," his voice was low and soft.
I yanked hard on her arm. She narrowed her eyes at me. They flashed amber, "My arm," I gestured down at her hand with my index finger, gulping in fear.
She pulled her hand immediately. I yanked myself up and hurried to the door. I rubbed my hand over the light bruise. I kept pacing.
"What are you doing alone here?" Silver returned, she was alone.
"Edward and Elizabeth are mate," I gestured back with my thumb.
"I know," She held my arm, "Elizabeth?" She asked.
" Busy. Is she fae?" I asked.
She led me toward another door. Perhaps, Alessandro's residence. I didn't ask. She unlocked the door. We walked in. I sat on the couch but there was no fire in the hearth.
"She can do magic. She's a full werewolf, and half fae." Silver opened the drawer and took out a box
My eyes widened, "Is it possible?" I asked.
"Yes," Sitting on the second solo couch she took hold of my arm.
"It's not worse," I tried to pull back, looking at my palm.
"You need to take care of yourself, Emma. Learn important things. You can't ignore it all the time. Things are going to change." Silver muttered, her shoulders sagging as she was worried about something.
"What are you saying?" My eyebrows furrowed.
"Girls!" Elizabeth walked in, her lips swollen, eyes were sad, "He won't let me go there." She trudged toward the couch and sat on the arm next to Silver. She gasped as she gazed down, "I'm so sorry."
"It's okay. You look upset." I muttered.
"I don't know what to do," Elizabeth sadly said.
I glanced down at Silver's fingers rubbing ointment against my skin, "It will go soon." She told me.
I nodded. Elizabeth held my second hand. I felt her magic running through me, suppressing the pain.
"If your fae side is blocked? How do you do this?" I asked her.
Silver stopped rubbing and looked at her.
"I don't know. My healing power isn't as strong as it used to be before. It works only on you." She muttered, sounding confused.
"Me? Why?" I asked in shock.
"Perhaps you're a human. Or I should say, a pure soul." She smiled at me,
"Pure soul! I don't think so. I'll go with 'human'." I smiled back.
They giggled, " I have to go alone there. " Elizabeth said.
"No way," Silver denied immediately.
"I'm coming with you too." I invited myself too.
"No, it can be dangerous. I can't do this to you." Elizabeth shook her head.
I pressed my lips, feeling irritated, "I'm telling Edward." I threatened her.
"What?" Elizabeth shouted in shock. Silver grinned. I giggled, "You're blackmailing me," she was looking perplexed.
I nodded, "I know,"
"Fine, we have to walk out of campus leaving our scent behind because you can't shift." Elizabeth stared at me,
"We can use perfume to distract them," I suggested.
"Not happening. We are going after dinner," Silver said.
"Why that?" Elizabeth asked, sounding annoyed.
"Their meeting with elders related to recent attacks. Remember?" Silver wiggled her eyebrows at her.
"Yeah, they'll be busy." Elizabeth nodded.
"Okay, we need to pack some clothes and food," I said excitedly, getting on my feet.
They looked at me, "Dastien is going to kill us." Elizabeth said.
I snorted, "What has he to do with me and my life?" I hated to say it but I said.
"Nothing, we should go. Let's go, Betty," She said, already tugging me toward the door, drawing her arm around my shoulder.
