Fire Wolf Series

Chapter 43

Ch. 43 / 150 Sep 27, 2024

I clenched my backpack and kept walking on the cobblestone path. I felt attached to this place. I met him here. The first time, I saw him here. I looked at the wood.

'Yes! I'm hoping it will happen again. I can feel him around me. But I can't see him. We have completed the semester. I didn't see Dastien after that day. No one knows. Where's he? Alex says he must be in the Dark realm. I have asked them many times about his whereabouts. No one knows.'

I halted at the sight of Jasper, "Ready to meet your family?" He asked with a smile.

I managed to look happy. They tried hard to bring a smile to my face. I smiled everytime, not to disappoint them.

"I guess," I would have said 'Yes' a few days ago but the entire situation has changed. I have a mate. It hurts so much, waking in his room but not seeing him.

Jasper looked at me. He could understand what I was feeling. The werewolf could smell emotions. I wanted to cry right now.

He embraced me curling his arm around my shoulder, "Everything is going to be alright, Em." He said in his British accent.

He's the future Alpha of the British pack. I don't know his pack's name. I never asked.

"Can you tell him? I'm missing him. Silver told me he can talk to you all in your heads." My eyes turned glassy. I wasn't upset with him for punishing Samantha. Definitely, I felt bad for her. She couldn't kill anyone.

"I can feel him through the Alpha-mate bond. That's all. His powers are like an impenetrable barrier. I can't reach him. But he can reach us, you. His mate." Jasper said,

"I can feel him. It's torturing me not to see him." I told him. Jasper was the first person who extended his hand to help me. When no one wanted to talk to me. He offered me to sit with him and his friends.

He hugged me, using his alpha power to calm me. Nothing could help me.

'What kind of a person Dastien is? He knows the consequences of leaving his mate. I'm sliding into depression.'

I drew myself back, "I'm fine," I wiped my cheeks.

"Just a week. Enjoy with your family. In the Alphas meeting, we will try to know the reasons, find him out. You have my words. " He said.

"I trust you. You don't need to make words. Silver said it's impossible. We can not contact him until he wants." I sighed.

"Pretty true. We're going to try. Okay?" He asked.

"Can I come with you?" I looked at him with beseeching eyes.

'Dastien is my priority. I can't think of anything beyond him. I'm losing my mind with every passing day.'

"Of course, " He nodded.

I smiled. This time, it was genuine. I was looking at the positive side.

"Are you crying?" Daniel scowled at Jasper.

"Mr. Wolfe, how are you?" I asked to avert the matter. He was looking perfect and healthy exactly the way I saw him last time.

"I'm fine, Miss Nelson." He smiled in my way and nodded silently at Jasper.

Jasper suddenly looked more mature than his age when he nodded back with a serious expression on his face.

I felt the tension in the air when they met.

' Silver and Elizabeth aren't sharing anything with me. Their eyes tell me everything. I'm not spending a week with my family. Elizabeth has promised me to find a way to reach him. He's not on the earth.'

I looked up at the sky. I had seen him once looking up. I didn't know how can I reach there, perhaps a plane could help me? I'm not certain.

"Are you ready, child?" Mr. Wolfe asked, his eyes were holding a strange kind of glint. I couldn't decipher.

"Yes," I nodded.

"This way," Daniel walked ahead on the cobblestone path.

Jasper gripped the strap of his bag. He gestured for me to walk first. Nodding, I began to pace along with Daniel and Jasper. They were acting like my bodyguards. My eyes swept up to meet Daniel's gaze when he stopped at the end of the cobblestone path. We were staring at the wall. Daniel looked back at his father as he was going to ride the bicycle for the first time. I stopped myself from jumping back when I looked into his eyes. They're darker, full of something I don't recognize.

Mr. Wolfe nodded his head. Daniel placed his hand on the wall. When Daniel withdrew his hand, the wall turned into transparent imagery of running water.

My eyes dilated in shock, "What's that? It isn't a waterfall?" I asked, wondering. I haven't seen magic in my life before.

"Dastien has set the portals for Alphas. So we could travel from one place to another quickly," Mr. Wolfe said and walked ahead.

I didn't know this. He can do anything.

I gasped when he disappeared into the wall.

"I'm not sure," I didn't know what would be waiting for me on the next side of the portal.

"We're doing this together." Jasper talked to me as I was a kid and was scared of crossing the road by myself alone.

Genuinely, I didn't want to do it again. I nodded my head and walked along with them toward it.

I felt goosebumps on my entire body and a white light blinding me. I shut my eyes tight to block it.

"Don't stop. Keep walking, Emma." I heard Daniel.

I kept walking. I couldn't open my eyes against the blinding lights.

"We have reached. You can open them now," Daniel said.

I frowned when I opened them. I was staring at the cobblestone path, "Are you sure? We have reached London? " I asked.

"See it yourself," Jasper gestured with his chin to pace on the path.

"I'll see the headmaster first. She's your reliability." Mr. Wolfe said with a soft smile, but stern gaze at his son.

"Let's go, Em. " Assurance was palpable in Daniel's voice.

Shrugging, I strutted behind them. I peered over my shoulder. The wall was back in view.

With every step forward, my doubt began to disappear. The architecture of the academy was the same but strange faces were staring at us. All were bowing their heads at the sight of two members of Seven-Alphas and a senior Alpha. Their eyes turned curious when they turned to me. Strange part! The students were in uniforms.

"Why do they give me such a curious look?" I said out loud so they could hear me that I knew. I wasn't comfortable.

"They know who you are." Daniel said in a deep voice. His dark gaze roamed over the faces as he was finding a particular face.

They took this as a warning and lowered their heads. We hardly plucked ten steps when I heard a loud familiar voice.

"Emma! Emma! I can't believe it. Finally, I'm seeing you." Two arms tightened around me.

"Avelyn," I hugged her tightly, "I missed you." I controlled my tears.

"I missed you, too." She pulled back, jumping on her feet, "They are my friends, Saddie and Connor." She giggled.

A thin, not so tall but beautiful girl waved shyly at me, "Welcome to our Academy, " She made eye contact with us and bowed her head humbly.

I giggled, "Hi, Saddie. You don't need to do that."

Saddie's eyes widened in fear as she looked behind me.

"Oh! Royal members." I giggled again, "Of course, they deserve best,"

Jasper and Daniel did not mind. They smiled.

"Hello Lord Jasper. Sir Daniel. Miss Nelson." Connor hesitated while addressing me as she bowed her head to us.

Ava bowed her head too. I spun and arched my eyebrows at them. This was getting over.

"We'll be going then, " Jasper engulfed me.

"You know your promise," I asked.

He pulled back and kissed my cheek, " Yes. I'll text you." He smiled and assured me.

"You'll be fine with your family. But call me if you need anything," Daniel said.

I took a tread forward and hugged him, "Betty is waiting for him and she needs your help. She cancelled the plans. Tell Edward."

He hugged back but his expression was confused, "Okay. Train every day." He patted my back softly.

"Okay," I nodded and they strutted toward the parking lot.

When I looked at my sister she was looking at me with shock and three sets of big eyes were staring at me.

"Did they really hug you, " Ava yelled in amazement.

I narrowed my eyes at her, "What are you doing here?" I demanded.

" Surprise! Werewolf academy is the coolest thing. Oxford is mega boring." Her smile was reaching her eyes but she seemed frightened too. Her chin was held high, reminding me of Samantha.

"Ava!" I glared at her.

"See you in the library, Ava" Saddie said and her friends slipped away.

"Please, don't get mad at me. I really love it here. Can't you see?" She asked, making a super sad face.

"I'm leaving this topic for. Now. I want an explanation. Why was I kept under dark? " I demanded, feeling angry suddenly.

"Yes, queen. " She bowed her head

I gasped. She couldn't know this, "You know everything?" My gaze turned annoyed. Dastien's absent did a number on me. If I'm not sad, then I'm angry.

She smirked boastfully and nodded her head, "Everyone talks about SevenA" She whispered.

"You must not have used my position for your benefit?" I flattened my lips.

"Of course, not! They know. I'm your sister." She rolled her eyes. She acted as if this conversation was boring.

"Ava!" I warned her. She shouldn't try my patience.

She held her hands up, "Mom is waiting for you." She forced a smile, hoping to calm me down. I wasn't the same anymore.

Curtly, I nodded, "We're going to talk. This topic isn't over." I told her.

"Alright! Alright! I have given you my reason, sis." She rolled her eyes again.

"It ain't convincing me."I shook my head, flattening my lips. It was getting hard to rein in my anger.

She shrugged her shoulders, ignoring me. We made our way through the crowd, " Everyone is here to see you." She whispered in my ear.

I ducked my head down, "Why would they do this?" My teeth pressed together in annoyance.

"You're The Dastien King's mate," She smiled, tugging me away at the parking lot with long steps.

"And you know this?" I asked again.
