I was waiting for Max and Grace. I haven't seen them since Dastien ordered him to meet with his father. I didn't want them in any trouble because of me. I had looked at every coming face in the cafeteria.
"Hi," Suddenly Silver's voice came from behind me. Pulling me out of my thoughts.
My head jerked to the door. Silver and Elizabeth were coming toward me, holding a broad smile, looking relieved. I jumped out of my seat and rushed at them. My eyes brimmed with tears. I missed them.
I hugged them. They curled their arms around me. I felt warm. Hot tears rolled down my skin.
"How are you doing?" Elizabeth asked softly, yet her tone indicated her worry.
They glanced at my face when I pulled back, "Oh! I hate you both." I wasn't supposed to show happiness at their arrival. They didn't call me nor send any messages.
"Emma," Silver embraced me again, "I know we're horrible friends. We can't risk losing you. It was adventure-less and a pain in the ass-more. You're brave but not powerful to face the danger of the dark world. Don't be upset with us." She said,
I pulled back, "No use, " I took a step away from her.
"We missed you. We have a lot to tell you," Elizabeth took me in a teddy bear hug.
I deflated, "You're cruel friends. You know that."
Silver nodded her head. Her eyes glistened with tears, "Sorry, you know Dastien." She engulfed us both.
"You knew. I'm his mate. You could have at least warned me. I could have seduced him. " I giggled at my own joke.
"She's kidding," Silver rolled her eyes.
"You know," Elizabeth squealed.
Walking to the table. I waved my hand to tell them to join, "Last night. Now I'm hearing slut from some high society." Sadness engulfed me.
Elizabeth arched her brows, taking the next seat.
Silver thinned her lips, "Samantha?" Her eyes glowed amber.
I giggled, "Your eyes change colour."
"Are you removing cruel words from our friendship," Silver asked.
"No,'' I nodded my head, opposite to my words.
Silver hugged me again, " Thank you. You saved us."
"What are you talking about?" She was never concerned about anything. Her behaviour was giving me tension
"Dastien said you're missing us. So he came and saved us." Elizabeth said.
"I didn't get it," I blinked,
"You don't need to. " They hugged me again.
"I'm going to catch diabetes with so much love." I chuckled.
"We werewolves don't get sick." Elizabeth said, smiling.
"I'm human.'' I said breathlessly. I was tired of repeating it again and again.
" You're part of our family now." Silver chirped.
"Nothing is helping but creating a lot more confusion," I said.
They glanced at me, "You look serious,"
"I'm pretty serious and pretty confused," I admitted.
"Let's bunk the classes," Elizabeth suggested.
"Really? "I exclaimed, my excitement resonating in my sentence,
"Um... hm," They nodded with a giant smile. Their smiles were mischievous.
"Let's get downtown." I said in a pleading tone.
They exchanged looks, " King won't allow it."
"Oh! Please! There will be a way." I wanted some time out of this academy or I was going to turn into a lunatic person.
"Silver!" Betty wiggled her eyebrows, "Only you can fulfil her wish,"
Silver bit her lower lip and nodded her head, "Give me five minutes,"
"We should grab something to eat, " Elizabeth hauled me up to my feet.
"Will they allow us to pack?" I asked. Her strides were fast and made me fall behind pace.
"Of course," She flipped her dark hair over her shoulder, "We're princesses!" She giggled.
I caught Samantha's murderous glare at me and I shivered, "She's going to kill me,"
Elizabeth followed my gaze and she glared at Samantha until she looked away, "She can't. You need to tell us everything we missed," She demanded, reaching the counter.
"Hi, Rhett. Can you pack some sandwiches and salads?" She asked humbly.
"Yes, miss." He bowed and scurried to the door.
She turned to face me, "We attended a wedding... um, moon ceremony."
"We?" She asked. A smile crawled over their faces.
My cheeks reddened, my smile doubled the size of my cheeks. I looked around. When I was sure it was safe to reveal, "Dastien and me! We attended Max's wedding with his family. His mate, Grace, invited me." I told them.
Her mouth opened in shock, "You're not joking?" She asked.
"Why are you looking so shocked?" I frowned and gazed at the door then my gaze travelled to Silver. Her phone was hoisted up to her ear.
"King never attends functions." She said, "You're a bundle of surprises. I knew it,"
Rhett came back with our packed food., "Thank you," I thanked him. I wasn't expecting gratitude from Elizabeth. They were royals you knew. It just bothered me to be so far from him. But I wasn't going there. I wasn't sure about many things.
Elizabeth grabbed the bag and strutted out of the cafeteria without a word.
I thanked him again and rushed behind her.
"Thank you! Just two words won't hurt you," I told her.
"Don't do this. Your mate would kill him. Have you seen Silver thanking anyone?" She asked.
"I haven't seen you and Silver thanking anyone. Who's your mate?" I asked, though I knew.
She sighed, "Edward," She breathed.
I pretended. My jaw dropped, eyes huge, "You never told me."
She smirked, "You never asked. Come! I hope Silver has a good thing to say to us."
My feet barely stoop reaching near Silver when Alessandro, Edward and to my surprise Dastien strode toward us.
"In your classroom, right now." Alessandro said, grimacing.
"No, we're going out." I said. My gaze turned to my friends for support but they shook their heads.
"Elizabeth!" Edward said in his deep voice.
"Of course, we were just going. Stay for some food," She lifted the bag in her hand, "Come, girls," She whispered to us.
Silver advanced her step at her, "No, we're not going," I said immediately and sat on the lawn.
Silver and Elizabeth's eyes were as wide as saucers. They could back off. I would not. I snorted at them.
Using his speed, he crouched down, coming face to face that I gasped in fear. I swallowed hard, "What do you want to do?" He asked.
"I wanna go downtown and chat with my friends." I blurted absentmindedly. I blinked many times, recalling what I had just said.
He rubbed his fingers on his jaw, "We're
heading to town. After returning you're joining your classes," He said.
I smiled and nodded, "Thank you," I curled my arms around his neck. His warmth enveloped me. His hand landed on my back hugging me. I felt pleasure at his touch
"Hm, let's go," He pulled me up with him.
I jumped on the ground immediately. They were already looking at me with an open mouth.
I hurried to the parking lot. I wanted to know about Max and Grace but not now. I would find them in town.
Dastien opened the door for me and I hopped in happily.
"We're coming in a second car," Silver said. The shock was still part of her beautiful face. I would ask her the reason later. .
Alessandro placed his hand on her lower back. I nodded immediately getting the hint. I glanced at Elizabeth and she was already walking toward Edward's car.
"They're behaving oddly. But why?" I asked with a frown.
Dastien seemed to hear but he didn't say anything and ignited the car.
My sight turned blurry. I rubbed my eyes but my hands dropped as it felt heavy, "Dastien," I whispered in a weak voice.
He pulled over the car immediately. His blurred face came in front of me.
"Tu sens le poison," he growled out angrily.
"I can't see properly," I forced the words out of my mouth.
The door opened of my sight. A lot of words reached my ears but I couldn't understand anything. I tried to concentrate instead of strange and sickening feelings inside me
"Old spell..." Elizabeth said in a panic tone.
"Do it..." Dastien's voice was crude, full of authority
I felt pain in my chest. I screamed out as it became unbearable. My seatbelt was ripped off, and I found myself beings captured by two strong arms and warm circled me,
Gradually, the pain began to fade away. I blinked. Tears were already running down my cheeks. The view was clear. Though, I felt the pain only for a minute but it seemed hours to me.
"Dastien," My voice was weak, my head was ducked under his chin, his arms were possessively locked around me.
"Just be quiet," He said, breathing in and out as he was going through the pain.
My gaze darted to the door. Silver and Elizabeth stood frozen, fear gripped them. I placed my hands on his chest, and I felt his heart erotically beating against my hand.
I glanced up. He kissed my head, "What happened to me?" I asked, eyes getting heavy.
"Go to sleep," He ordered.
"No, I wanna go out," Words faded in my mouth as my eyes turned to shut, my body sagged in his arms. I nodded off.
