After my amazing time with Sisily, I sprinted to the dormitory. Sisily was the only person who reminded me of being human. He didn't allow me to go with them.
' I don't think they would go against him. But I can try. My brain just shuts off around him. And my body is a damn traitor. Why couldn't I win the battle of argument with him? I want to cry. '
I unlocked the door and pushed it. I wasn't surprised to see Elizabeth and Silver already waiting for me.
"What did he say?" Elizabeth asked, getting on her feet. They already knew the answer. Still....! Asked me.
"He must have denied. Her face is telling everything, Betty." Silver laid back and covered her face with her hands.
"But I can come with you, right?" I asked, closing the door behind me.
"No, I can't put your life in danger again. He's the king, all-powered. We can't go against him. " Elizabeth said, sadly.
"You're not putting my life in danger," I told her.
They shook their heads, "We should pack things." Silver said.
"Yeah, sorry, Em." Elizabeth
"It's okay," I forced a smile.
They returned to their room. I felt tears piercing in the back of my eyes. I grabbed the glass of water and downed it. I felt silent tears in my eyes. I was feeling helpless.
I actually concentrated in my classes to not think about them in the woods and to enjoy the adventure. They came to say goodbye to me. It was a good thing. We're friends.
My feet carried me to the last class before lunch break.
"You're late,"
I spun with my heart in my throat. I glared at him. What was he doing here? A gust of wind swept over my face, filling my nostrils with his scent. My body lit up like fireworks. I shook the thoughts.
' Don't go there. You can like him but this arrogant man gives you nothing but orders to follow. '
'That's not true. He cares for you,' A part of me chided.
"What are you doing here?" I was wandering alone on this entire campus because of him. My friends were out on an adventure trip. Max was injured and hospitalised, his werewolf healing power couldn't help him because it was given by the king.
Huh!
"I'm training you today," He said softly.
I raised my brows. When I felt he wasn't kidding. I rubbed my fingers on my forehead, "You won. Can you please stop this?" I asked.
He arched his brows, lips thinned slightly, "Wait there. I'll be back." He said, gesturing to me to stand next to Jerry.
I ignored Samantha's excitement and her scowl that she sent my way.
I wasn't certain it was a good idea. He's Max's best friend. He must be hating me for putting his friend in such a worse situation. People respect Dastien but they also fear him.
My entire body tingled with electricity when he patted my arm, encouraging me. I did not move an inch where he left me. Heat rushed through my body. He was doing things to my body without my permission. His gorgeous gaze flicked to me then back to other students.
'I don't know what to do? Hate him or....'
I walked over to the place. Jerry was already looking at me, "I'm sorry. How's Max?" Would he talk to me? I don't know Dastien would do all this. But I couldn't blame him entirely. I wasn't the creator of the mess. But I was.
"Are you kidding me? That was super cool. Tell me." Jerry turned to me. His stupid but innocent grin played over his strong features, "King didn't ask you to stay away from us. Believe me. We're harmless." He showed his palms, lifting his hands.
I snorted, "Why would he decide it? Max and you helped me when some people just wanted to bully me." I turned to look at Samantha who was ogling at Dastien. She was making me just irritated.
To my relief, Dastien was standing far away from her, talking to the first row's students.
"Is Max fine?" I asked, averting my attention somewhere else.
"More than perfect, Queen." he grinned.
I snorted at the nickname he just had given me. I hope it has nothing to do with his role model King.
"Max also wants to thank you. But he's unable. Thanks for being our friend." His grin didn't waver, he was looking at Dastien as he was some sort of king.
It was useless to get angry with him, "Yeah," I nodded.
"Hi," I spun, hearing a soft voice. She was taller than me and lean, beautiful like a doll, but the muscles of her arms described her totally different personality from a doll.
"Hi, Grace," Jerry waved at her.
"Hi, Jerry." Her blue gaze turned to me, "I'm Grace, Max's mate." She extended her hand at me.
My eyes widened again. Through the corners of my eyes, I saw Dastien's eyes on me, "Are you here to..." I gulped, "He was just helping me. Nothing else."
Grace giggled, "I'm here to invite you to the ceremony and dinner tonight with my family." She said.
I gave her a perplexed look, "I didn't get it. Family? We are living in a dormitory."
She shook her head, "I live with my family downtown. It's a full moon today. "
"I don't know, what are you talking about?" I muttered nervously.
"She's coming, Miss White. You can take your seat." Dastien said,
"Oh!" Grace's face flushed, giggling, she nodded and walked over to her place.
"How could..."
"Warm-up," He said, cutting me off.
I shrugged my shoulders and began jumping jacks and other warm-up exercises. After thirty minutes, he led me to the punching bag.
"Here," I spun as his voice reached my ears. He was holding a white cloth, "Your hands," He said.
I don't know what he is going to do but he won't hurt me. I lifted my palm. He looked into my eyes. Butterflies began to swirl in my stomach. He wrapped the cloth. I watched him wrapping my wrists, "Make a fist," He said softly.
I did. It felt like I was going into a ring to fight. He nodded, satisfied with his work. He took my left hand and began to wrap it. I fisted again as he asked in a soft voice again. He checked to make sure the fabric covered my knuckles, then he helped me, putting on gloves.
I looked at other students. They weren't wearing any gloves. Oh! Then it hit me. I'm human. But I couldn't shut my mouth when I was confused, "What is this for?"
"You're learning to fight," He said and turned. He wasn't wearing gloves.
It was going to be different from what Max has taught me. My heart did that stupid flutter thing, I felt his hand brushing the side of my waist. From the heat of my face, I guessed I was blushing. He was gorgeous, his smile made him more gorgeous.
His lips curved into a sexy little smirk as he stood in front of me. He shifted on his feet in a rhythm, I had seen the fighters in the ring, " To learn to fight, you have to learn breathing at an exact time and footwork," He said.
He's teaching me techniques. That's why all praised him, like him and only frightened from his wrath.
He kneed the punching bag, it trembled. He could shatter it easily. He rolled his shoulders and jabbed a punch. I stopped breathing. He punched the bag a few times in a row, I was watching him with a hanging jaw, and all his chiselled muscles flexed and tightened. My pulse skipped.
He's so strong. Da**! He's perfect.
"I'll pick you up at seven," He said, punching the bag.
Dumbfounded, I stared at him, still lost in the beautiful view, "I didn't get it," I said.
"Grace and Max's ceremony," He said.
"They've invited you, too?" I was shocked. Why was Max not attending the class when Grace was his mate?
"I attend every ceremony." He said.
"Of course, you're their king." I softly punched the bag. It was hard like rock. How was he doing this? When he punched it, it looked effortless from his calmness. It was totally contrary for me.
He shrugged and motioned me to start. My heart did a weird thing when his eyes met mine. I didn't understand how my heart was taking all tons of emotions at the same time. Under his sharp, heated gaze, I hit my fisted-gloved-hand. It didn't budge but I kept trying when he didn't say anything. I was also concentrating on my breathing, keeping my elbow back so I could hit with more power.
The bell rang and all stopped. I looked around, "Why can't I hear the bell?" I asked.
He smiled and grabbed a towel and rubbed it around his neck, "Don't get late?" He said.
I wiped the sweat from my forehead with my arm and nodded, "Ceremony? Okay. See you later." I grabbed my backpack. I glanced at the v of his body. I spun on my heels and walked out of the gym.
