Fire Wolf Series

Chapter 20

Ch. 20 / 150 Sep 27, 2024

They always looked confident, so I tried to channel some of that confidence in me too. I shook my head. I could never gain swiftness and speed like them. Only in dreams!

Professor Megan thinned her lips, "It's a simple move." She encouraged me. But it wasn't going to work.

I can't learn until I show interest in it.

I was going to run out of the class as my friend or nothing else was at stake.

"It's just a punch," She said, her expression turned annoyed, eyes hard on me.

My gaze turned to my beautiful nail, painted blue. I didn't want them to break. I shook my head again.

Frustrated, she glared at me, "Get out of my class." She shouted, pointing at the door with her index finger.

I rushed out immediately. I forced my anxiety down. I was afraid. She would call me back and punish me. Or worse! She'd ask me to fight.

Damn my friend, they pushed me into the extra class of Professor Megan. They don't have any bad aim but I don't like the fighting section. I'm the investor. My role started after ending the fight.

I picked up my pace, "Emma!" My feet halted when I heard an unfamiliar male's voice.

I spun and saw the boy with blue eyes. He was my opponent in the class. I was asked to punch him by Professor Megan.

I didn't want to put myself in any trouble. I began my pace again, walking away from him.

"Hi," He moved fast. Every werewolf did this without any trouble.

I swallowed, "What do you want?" I asked, stepping back from him. I looked around for a glimpse of my friends. They must be busy in their class.

"I'm Max Anderson. You should punch me. I'm a tough guy." He said with a smirk.

I didn't notice before. He was tall, broad shoulders and handsome. Everyone is handsome in their own ways. But they are different.

"I'm not interested in breaking my hand."

I turned to the cafeteria. I heard him laughing. I did the best thing. Ignored him. They would come here after finishing their class. I sat down pulling the chair out.

"You should at least try. Professor can punish you. I can bet it will be worse than breaking your hand," He sat next to me.

"I'll talk to Alex," I muttered, shifting my gaze away from him to the door.

His smile disappeared and he looked at me. His gaze made me more nervous, "Alex!" He shot his eyebrows up, wrinkling his forehead, "Headmaster?" He asked.

"Yes, please leave me alone," I told him, politely. I wasn't desperate to talk to him. I needed peace to make a plan to get rid of the extra fighting skill class.

"Do you need anything? Are you hungry?" He asked.

"You're just wasting your time. I'm not your kind, " I don't know what to say. It felt awkward but better stay away from a stranger werewolf.

"You smelled confused and scared," he said, bringing his face closer.

My head jerked at him. I pushed myself back. He was using his wolf.

"Is he bothering you?" I heard the rude tone of Silver. She slammed her palm over the table. She must have smelled me confused and scared, too.

"I was taking care of her in your absence," He rose on his feet and took a few steps back.

His move meant no harm.

Silver glared at him. I knew with absolute certainty she was pissed right now.

Max Anderson left immediately. I smiled, sighing.

When I turned, silver was already looking at me, "What's troubling you?" She asked.

I sighed again, "Professor Magan asked me to punch him but I couldn't. Will she punish me now?"

"Stop worrying. I can smell sadness too," She said, leaning in and sitting down.

I was missing him. But she didn't need to know, "Nostalgia, I'm used to seeing my mother and sister every evening, after my job was done."

"You have us," She hugged me.

"I know," I smiled, "Where's Betty?" I asked, turning my gaze back at the door.

"Stuck in the library," she rolled her eyes.

I nodded. I was saved for now. Until professor Megan considers doing something which wouldn't be my choice.

After saying goodbye to Sisily, I grabbed the door handle. I didn't see Mr Wolfe the day I met Alessandro in the office with him. I didn't try to know.

The door opened itself, making me take a few steps back, "Daniel," I said as his smiling face came into view.

That was a miracle. He was smiling. His expression hardened, but he didn't say a word. He stepped back for me to leave.

"Do you stay here?" I asked, confused.

"It's my house," He said, no expression was visible over his face.

"You're Mr Wolfe's son," I asked, a little louder. Perhaps, louder for his werewolf ears.

He raised both his eyebrows. He nodded his head anyway.

This was the end of the talk, I guess. I strolled away from him. My gaze met another set of rare eyes, his left eye was amber and his right eye was grey like mine. He was tall, lean, not slim but I knew he had a strong werewolf body like everyone else. His face was boyish with a clean shaved and black hood covering his head but couldn't hide his, not so short honey-coloured hair. He's gorgeous. He looked at me, just looked at me.

"Emma," His voice was soft.

My eyes turned to Daniel, "Yes?"

"How's Ely doing?" He asked.

"Ell?" I asked. He nodded, "She's a great kid, a fast learner, she loves to draw and hide and seek. You can check her classwork." I said, smiling proudly. Sisily has earned it.

"Hm," He nodded, contemplating deeply, "See you at the gym. Four o'clock," He said.

I softly bit the inner flesh of my lower lip and nodded. I wanted to ask about Dastien. I hadn't seen him after our breakfast. I didn't have his number.

"He's out of town for business," Daniel said.

I don't know. How do they do this? I am thankful tonight.

I nodded with a smile, "Good evening," I whirled and saw him ( rare-eyed ) still looking at me with his rare eyes. I touched my cheek.

Is there something on my face?

Shrugging, I sauntered toward the girl dormitory. My feet halted when I reached the spot where I saw Dastien in his werewolf form. My lips curled up in a huge smile.

Sighing, I walked forward. It was dark and anyone could attack me.

I returned to my room. I ran the shower hot, I wanted to hit my back.

Daniel would send someone to knock on the door at the exact time.

When I opened the door, Silver and Betty were sitting on the mattress, looking down at a fashion magazine and discussing something.

"Hi,"

Silver looked at me with furrowed eyebrows, "What's making you sad?"

I shrugged my shoulders, walking forward.

"Maybe, we can sort it out for you," Elizabeth said.

I'm not going to share my feelings for Dastien.

"I don't wanna learn to fight. I don't wanna punch anyone." I threw myself on the empty side of the bed and covered my face with my hands. There was a beat of silence. I removed my hands, "What?" I asked when I caught their gazes on me.

"That can't be, girl. Fighting is in our blood," Silver said, her tone sweet but her eyes intense. I stared deep in her eyes to wait for them to glow. It happened only when her anger came to the surface.

"Oh! You mean Werewolf?" My lips flattened, "I'm not one of you," I shook my head. I was feeling disappointed.

' I love my human life. I have nothing special in my life that will inspire me to live hundreds of years. I'm not including my family in it.'

They exchanged looks like they were sharing a secret. When they did not speak. I opened my mouth again.

"We did not mean that. Self-defence could help you in many ways," Elizabeth said, breaking her gaze from Silver.

I shook my head, "I have you guys. Don't tell me you'll show me your back when I need you."

Their expressions turned serious, "That's not going to happen," Silver crinkled her lips.

"Stop thinking which won't even happen in your dream," Elizabeth contorted her lips.

Both gave me a pointed look. I beamed at them. No one had ever told me. Ava is too young to talk so wisely.

"Thank you," I felt the sign of crying before tears fell down my cheeks, "Daniel is going to be a tough teacher," I changed the topic. hoping they wouldn't notice but who was I kidding.

"Are you going to cry? I can smell it." Elizabeth drew me in a hug.

I always forget. It was hard to hide emotions from their werewolves' side.

"Do not consider yourself alone ever. We're also your family," Silver softly said.

I nodded, "Thank you,"

"You won't use that stupid word for us, " There was the authority in her voice, but her expression remained cheerful.

I rolled my eyes, copying her style. They laughed and gave me a tight hug, "You won't be alone.'' Silver said.

I hugged them back, " Daniel looks like a crude man, but he just doesn't let any stranger be close to him after his brother's death, " Elizabeth said. Her face fell, eyes saddened.

"Yeah, losing a family member is really difficult to bear," I muttered.

They must have sensed my sadness again. Thankfully, no one asks. I can sleep now before the beginning of a hard day.
