Chapter 18

Ch. 18 / 150 Sep 27, 2024

I woke up with the chirping of the birds out of the window. Lazily, I pushed myself up. But the rooms seemed empty. Silver hadn't returned yet. I didn't have my phone with me. I was getting used to it.

I want to stay alone but it'll scratch the wound more.

A knock on the door made my head jerk at the door. I glanced out of the window. It was dark. Swiftly, my eyes drifted to the clock. Four o'clock.

Another tap on the door made my head turn to it.

"Go away," I shouted and hoped he would go away.

The door clicked. My eyes widened. The door opened, emerging the most powerful man. I bolted on my feet, "Get out of my room." I said with a raged breath.

He smirked, "Training time," He said and spun.

"I'm not training with you. Now leave me alone," I shouted.

He was on my face in a flash, "Wear something warm," He gritted.

I was hurt. He hurt me today. If I couldn't ask him in my excitement. He should come to me. But he ignored me.

"I'm not going." I declared. I had decided. F**k off feelings!

He glared at me. I wouldn't cower this time. He yanked me closer, and I could feel all the hard lines of his body. I was not getting out of here without obeying his will. I wasn't in the mood to obey him. I didn't belong to his world.

"You broke what you told me to do. Now don't expect anything." I said in annoyance.

His growl was low and furious. I could bet. He felt the shiver of my body. He smirked. It frustrated me. Leaning his face closer, he pressed his lips on mine. My eyes dilated. Heat pulsed through my body. My cheeks flamed, "Compensation," he muttered.

My breath came out harsh and even, "It's not enough," I blurted. That's not me. He brings out the naughty side of me. I shut my eyes in embarrassment.

"You can't take more, baby." He whispered. His eyes were a pool of mystery.

Baby! It's better than girl.

I pushed on his shoulders. I didn't notice my feet were in the air. I landed softly, "Why did you break your words?" My words come out aggravatedly.

His gaze was blazing, but he shook his head, "Wear something warm. I'm waiting." He said.

No way to escape it. I nodded and scooted toward the closet. Everything in my life changed when I stepped into this academy and met him.

I washed my face with cold water.

Putting on some warm clothes, I rushed out of the room. He was wearing sweatpants and a black tee shirt. He didn't seem bothered about the cold. He was looking calm, arms folded. Hottie!

He straightened at my sight, "Why are you ignoring everything,'' I asked, stopping a few feet away from him.

The brush of his lips settled strong feelings inside me. But I couldn't put myself in the same situation every time.

His hand landed on my back. He tugged me forward, "Something urgent came. I should leave a message."

He wasn't going to apologise. I shook my head.

I want to mention ' don't do it next time' . I am not expecting anything from him. Self-love is essential too.

I walked with him. Instead of heading to the gym, he led me toward the cafeteria, "Why are we here?" I asked. We walked over to the door.

A bulky woman from the kitchen, I watched her daily in the kitchen. I had mostly seen her serving food. She placed the tray on the table.

"Thank you, Samantha." He said to her,

The woman smiled and returned to the kitchen after a bow of her head.

He pulled the chair out and motioned with his eyes. In disbelief, I sat down.

"What are you doing?" I asked, looking at him.

He pulled the chair next to me, it screeched against the floor, breaking the silence, "You're hungry."

"I'm not hungry," I said,

It took hours to come to this statement that he wouldn't come. He was just mocking me. Now. While staring at him, I could feel his power. He placed the plate between us and held out the second spoon for me. I wasn't paying attention to what was laying on our plate.

Did he just offer me to share food with him? Why? It could be another prank. But he told me that it was urgent.

His eyes were warm on me. I couldn't stay refractory. I took it from him. A tiny half-smirk etched on his lips.

"Dastien, I need to know. You weren't concerned about me. You and I need to talk."

"After breakfast," He said, dismissing the topic.

I didn't push him further and started to eat. I was watching him all the time. The atmosphere felt warm to me.

I stayed near the window. He didn't give me any task or twenty rounds to run around the building. He was calm and doing his workout with his friends.

'What's running in his mind? Another prank.'

"Emma," A smiling face hurried inside the gym hall. She was at my side in less than a second with a speed humans could never gain.

A smile broke on my lips. I got on my feet and hugged her tightly, "Silver,"

"I'm sorry. I had to go without informing you. But Granny was really serious. I hope you got my message," Her gaze cut through the boys.

I chuckled and nodded, "Your Grandma?"

Silver rolled her eyes, "She tricked us again. She wanted to spend time with the entire family."

Alessandro cleared his throat. She walked over to him, only her heels clicked against the floor.

'They're mated. What are we?' I asked myself, looking at Dastien. He was looking at me. My heart squeezed tightly, and my hands started to sweat as I wrung them together.

"I heard you went on a date," Elizabeth said, stopping at my side.

I smiled, "You're back?"

She giggled and took me in a quick hug, "I am glad you remember me," She laughed, a beautiful tinkling sound

He turned, his eyes running across my features. He didn't give any human gesture. He strode toward the door, grabbing a towel that was resting on his thigh.

"I'll be back," I told Elizabeth.

She giggled, looked at him and nodded. I hurried behind him, "Dastien,"

He spun, his expression was all innocent and powerful. He set his forest green eyes on me.

I need to know. What's happening to me? Why do I don't act myself around him? He made me feel things, I haven't experienced before. It confused me more.

I opened my mouth to ask and shut it immediately. I swallowed hard. He leaned down closer and ran his thumb on my jawline, "Stop thinking too much, mou amour," The low voice vibrated through me, settling deep down me.

"Am I under a spell?" I muttered, lost in his gaze.

His eyebrows drew together, he shook his head, "Go to your room, you have classes." He took a long step back.

"You have to tell us a lot of things," Silver came to my side.

I couldn't ignore, when Dastien's jaw clenched. With a final look at my face, he strode away. I glanced at him until he disappeared.

Elizabeth grasped my hand, "No," I walked toward the stair, opposite of his direction.

"What? We're friends,' Silver scurried behind me.

" No," I shook my head, "You didn't tell me his name,"

"Because, you don't trust me," She said, a little sadly. She folded her arms with a frown.

I don't want to bring up what she did to me, "Do you trust me?" I sighed.

"Yes," She said, without missing a beat.

Now, I'm feeling guilty. Another sigh left my body, "Everything is so confusing," Few words made my shoulders sag in relief.

"You can trust us," Elizabeth said, climbing up the stairs with Silver.

They enclosed me between them, climbing the stairs.

"Dastien and me?" I was surprised that I spoke 'us' as together. Were we? Would we ever? "I'm not obsessed with him. I can't rein in my feelings. They just flow around him." I turned my neck, "I wasn't interested before. I mean. I like boys but my family is my priority. When he's around I forget the world."

I have spoken more than required. I ruined our friendship. They don't want a lunatic person.

"You're not weirding us out? Relax. Take a nap. Your eyes are swollen." Silver thinned her lips. She didn't say but she comprehended.

"You're going to embrace your destiny. Stop fighting it," Our heads turned to Elizabeth.

I gasped. Elizabeth's eyes were wide open, staring straight without blinking. It wasn't dark green anymore.

"Oh gosh! Betty! We have to take her to your room." Silver rushed to the other side of her.

Why my room? But I didn't ask. It'd be rude.

I held Elizabeth's arm and pulled her with me upstairs.

"What's happening to her? We should take her to the doctors." I panicked.

"No, keep walking. I'll explain." Silver shook her head.

Silver made her sit on the bed' edge and shook her strongly by shoulders, "Betty,''

I wasn't expecting her to respond so soon. Elizabeth blinked her eyes and looked at Silver. Bending, I looked in her eyes. I let out the air. They were green once again, " Did I do something?" Her voice was full of terror.

Silver sighed in relief and sat next to her, "You predicted something. I couldn't decipher." She placed her head over her shoulder.

"Did you hear?" Elizabeth asked, her eyes were still big in shock.

Silver looked at me, her expression was concerned, "Something about destiny. Embrace your destiny"

"Predict? What's happening, girls?" After a lot of days, I felt like myself.

"You have to keep it a secret." Elizabeth said.

I nodded. I wouldn't break my words at any cost, "She can predict the future." I was astounded and perplexed, "Have you predicted anything that turned into reality,"

"I was expecting a shocked face,'' Elizabeth smiled.

I shrugged my shoulders. I was good at hiding. I have seen human shifting, vampires. Prediction doesn't seem shocking to me.

" She predicted that I and Alessandra would be together." Silver blushed.

"Really?" Now shock must have flickered through my voice.

Silver giggled. I didn't need more answers. He's her mate. I don't understand the mating system properly, but it's the strongest bond, according to the books. Holy book of shadow shifters!

"Can't we ask her for a prediction? I just remember her words." I mocked. The more I think about the prediction, the more it will disturb me. It'd be better not to think about it.

Elizabeth gave a look, 'You just can't torture me," Her smile was betraying her hard expression.

I don't know. What fruition will her prediction bring in my life?

"Yeah! We can try that Emma." Silver turned to Elizabeth, "Should I tickle you?"

I jumped next to them, "Sounds crazy. My sister tickled me sometimes."

'They looked at me but I couldn't say more. '
