My thoughts swirled in a tornado. I pressed my palm over my forehead. Elizabeth touched my arm. Immediately, I pulled myself away from her.
I just can't let her do this. She'll drain. The door ping opened of the elevator. I stormed in.
"Let me help you," Elizabeth said, walking in.
Silver held me by my shoulder to balance me.
"No, I'll be fine, just a little sleep that's all I need," I said, closing my eyes, supporting my body with the wall of the elevator, waiting for it to reach our floor.
"Sure?" Silver asked.
I nodded. Sometimes, I felt strange as another sound in my head, telling me constantly things I didn't know, that part loved Dastien. It dinged open. I shuffled out toward my door.
They left me alone as I demanded. I couldn't sleep, not just because of the pain. Their mocking words were still taunting me. I couldn't keep track of time.
The soft rap on the door pulled me out of my thinking zone. With a puzzled expression, I walked over to the door. I stared at it waiting for another knock. It came exactly.
Instead of opening, I rapped back.
"Open the door," I jumped, hearing his voice. I was smiling but also nervous about him knowing my mischievous demeanour. He must have found it. Why would he come at this time of night!
"Boys aren't allowed in the girl dormitory," I spoke back softly. I didn't want anyone to know, didn't want Silver and Elizabeth to come when he was standing out of my door.
Another knock, "Just open the door," His demand was holding authority. I couldn't turn it down.
Sighing, I curled my hand around the doorknob and I twisted it. His impassive face came into view. Unbelievable, his presence made my pain disappear. I tried to move my fingers, and it didn't feel pain anymore.
"Hi, it's too late to talk about anything," I muttered.
He shook his head and pushed open the door. A soft squeal erupted from my throat when he scooped me up. I was so taken back. He was so warm, it felt so comfortable being near to him. I wanted to curl my arms around his neck and pressed my face in the crook of his neck.
"Put me down, please," I couldn't move my hands at my side.
"Not happening," He said and began his pace. His strides were as he was running. His hands were fastened around me, securing me.
"You're fast," My hands shot around his neck.
He flashed a dazzling smile down at me. I felt as if he wanted to say a lot of things but he held himself. Having no choice, I let him carry me. We were on the cobblestone path. The fog was surrounding us. He fastened his arms pulling me closer to his warm body. I wasn't sensing the chill in the air.
"I should let you put on some warm clothes," He said.
I hid my face in the crook of his neck. He smelled so delicious, his body heat radiating off of him. Foreign desires bubbled inside me.
'Think something else,' I told myself, 'His mate is going to throttle me seeing so close to what belongs to her.'
It was so quiet around. His feet weren't even making any noise. My gaze drifted up. He was so attractive. My cheeks flamed when his forest green eyes landed on me.
"Are you taking me to Mr Wolfe's house?" I asked in panic. I wasn't hoping he would take me there.
He moved forward, leaving the row of white mansions. My jaw slackened when I looked at the villas in front of me. I darted my gaze. The view was mesmerising. It was seven.
"What's this place?"
"7A" he replied walking to the first villa.
My gaze rested on the pool. It was extra foggy and chilly around it. I shivered and snuggled closer for more comfort.
"SevenA?" I asked.
"Hm, home of seven Alphas." He said rubbing his palm against my back.
"Are you Alpha?" I know, it's stupid. But I need to know.
The door was already opened. He walked in and kicked the door behind us. He laughed, shaking his head, "What do you think, mon amour," his smile was doing something to me. My stomach did a flip.
"I'm the one who's asking you," I said.
He sighed, placing me down on the couch. it felt soft under me. The warmth from the hearth hit me immediately. He drifted away showing his v-shaped back, "Wait," I looked around the room, his house was beautiful, it looked like a scene from the magazine, dark red velour carpets, polished wooden floor, glasses walls, expensive and ancient furniture.
He returned with a black blanket and covered me with it, "Are you cold?" I shook my head, looking into his forest green eyes. His eyes reminded me of vast manicured grassland, so prosperous, so calm.
"Home of Alphas?" I asked, forcing my gaze down. I offered him a half blanket. He shook his head with a soft smile, "Yea! Werewolves don't feel cold." I turned my gaze to the burning fire, "Was this already planned?" I giggled, which wasn't my intention. His mate would tear me apart. It saddened me.
He sighed, averting his gaze from my face to the burning fire. It reminded me of the fire in his eyes that mostly came out when he was angry.
"Seven Alphas," He paused, sitting down on the second couch set down close to where I was sitting, "You have already met five members." He said.
"You and Alessandro for sure. I don't remember meeting the rest." I shrugged my shoulders. He was looking more gorgeous under the glow and the light of the burning fire, highlighting his features.
A slight nod, "Daniel, Drake, Carlos, Jasper, Edward."
"I haven't met Edward," I said.
" He'll be here soon." He paused, "Hot chocolate?" He asked.
A wave of nostalgia hit me. I swallowed the emotions down and nodded. My gaze found him looking at me. He's regal and so attractive. A different feeling washed over me. He felt more attractive with my feelings swirling inside me.
He cleared his throat, smirking, catching me looking at him.
"Yeah! Of course. Hot chocolate." The thought of him making me hot chocolate sent a warm feeling through me. I even began to imagine him making it in the kitchen with a smile. My gaze was glued to his handsome face. He hadn't taken his eyes off of me. I shouldn't let my hope rise. It would hurt me in the end when his mate was waiting for him. I wanted to look back and grinned stupidly but it wasn't ideal at all. I looked away, feeling shy and unsure - what to do.
"Yeah, I'll be back. You can entertain yourself until. " He gestured at his cellphone.
It made a full smile appear on my lips, "Can I make a call to my family?" I asked.
He nodded and headed to the kitchen.
He hasn't shown me around his house. Maybe next time he doesn't care.
I tried her number but it went on voice mail. So, I left a message.
Dastien returned with two cups. His brows pulled together when he saw his phone on the coffee table.
"She's in her class, I guess. It may be night here but not in London."
He extended his hand with a cup, "You can ask her to leave a message or you can give her time to make a call at a suitable time."
"I'm not allowed to keep my phone." I grabbed the cup and curled my both hands around the cup.
"You can use mine whenever you want. " He said, eyes only on me.
I nodded, "Where's your mate? Ain't you going to introduce me?" I squeezed my eyes shut and scolded myself inwardly for bringing his mate between us.
His lips thinned but he didn't reply and grabbed the book from the coffee table. I tried to read the letters but I gave up when I couldn't make it.
Why is he so quiet?
Looking at the fire I sipped from the hot chocolate. My eyes couldn't stay on the fire no matter how hard I tried, they ran to him.
Ain't he going to talk now? His mate must be around. I have a crush on him. We can't run away from the truth.
I slid the empty cup to the table. I should be active but my eyes were feeling heavy. He hadn't touched his cup.
"Dastien," My voice was so slow but his werewolf ears couldn't ignore it.
He dropped the book immediately when he looked at me, "The bedroom is upstairs," He said.
Your mate would murder me. But I held myself from saying it, "Silver and Elizabeth must be looking for me. What would I say to them? I have no answer. I shouldn't stay here." I said. He didn't tell me. Why did he bring me here? He was reading his foreign language book calmly. So strange!
"Sure, " He got on his feet.
"Why did you bring me here? You haven't shown me around your house." I complained.
"Merde!" He looked irritated with my questions, '' Emma," He ran his hand through his hair, "We'll talk tomorrow. You need to rest now," He scooped me up again, the blanket was still wrapped around me.
"Is this even allowed?" I asked.
He smiled but didn't say anything as he strode toward the floor. My body was warm, his closeness made me feel warm, safe and secure. I closed my eyes.
Before fully nodding off, I felt his lips pressing on my forehead. I giggled softly.
It can't be true.
