Darian's POV
"Hello, Alpha Darian, so you finally made it to the last level?" Alpha Benson asked me with a wicked smirk.
"And what happened to your fur and eyes, Alpha Darian? Don't tell me that the supreme Alphas took away your Alpha abilities too, because the eyes of an Alpha are supposed to be glowing red, not yellow, or whatever it's glowing over there," he said to me from where he was standing.
"I didn't come here to discuss the color of my fur or my eyes; I came here because of my mate, and I will advise you to hand her over to me peacefully," I said to them, and immediately they glanced at each other before bursting into a round of laughter.
"Did I just hear you say peacefully?" Alpha Benson asked me with a mocking tone. "Since when did you start promoting peace, Alpha Darian? If not the Darian that I had known doesn't like peace, all he likes is war, and that is what we are giving you, and we are going to give you more of it, and for your information, we made our request very clear that if you want to take your mate peacefully as you stated, you have to give us back our territories," Alpha Benson said to me, his voice raising in anger.
"Well, if you want your territories that badly, why don't you go and claim them from the supreme Alphas because they are the ones ruling over your territories, not me?" I said to him.
"Why should we go and claim it from the supreme Alphas while you were the ones who took it from us?" Alpha Ethan asked me with an inquisitive look.
"We don't need to shed blood over this; there has been a lot of bloodshed today. You guys can simply hand me over to my mate, and we will all go our separate ways as if nothing ever happened," I said to them, and immediately they both stared at each other for some minutes as if they were discussing through a mind link. Afterwards, they turned their gazes towards me, and Alpha Benson shook his head negatively.
"We know you well, Alpha Darian; you are only playing the submissive one here because your mate is under our custody. We thought that you were going to inform us that you have recovered your pack and you are ready to give us back our territories, but since that isn't the case, we will have to take our leave with your mate and son, who is the heir to the throne that has been taken away from you. Just let us know when you recover your pack," Alpha Benson said to me with a wicked smirk.
Without hesitating, I immediately started running to where they were, knowing that Alpha Benson would soon vanish with her and that I would have to start looking for them once again.
I was still some distance away from them when my face slammed against a barrier, and immediately I realized that was the reason why Alpha Benson and Ethan were speaking confidently, because according to them, I would never be able to walk through the barrier.
"What is the issue? Alpha Darian, what is stopping you from coming to save your mate?" Alpha Benson asked me with a mockery tone while placing his hands on Elena's shoulder.
"Please save me, Alpha Darian," Elena cried out to me while pushing Alpha Benson's hand away from her shoulder.
"Stop wasting your time; there's nothing he can do to help you," Alpha Benson said to Elena while holding her shoulder tightly. Immediately, he turned around and saw me passing through the barrier. He gasped in fear, but before he could try to vanish, Elena forcefully pulled her shoulders away from him, and he vanished with the other two soldiers holding his left hand. But to my greatest surprise, Alpha Ethan was still standing there, possibly finding it difficult to vanish like Alpha Benson. I couldn't explain what was wrong with him, but as I was approaching, he kept on trembling in fear.
Without hesitating, I pulled off the ring from my finger and rushed towards him. It was too bad that his magic was no longer functioning because he was the one going to suffer the consequences of the crime he had committed with Alpha Benson.
Shifting into my wolf form, I immediately grabbed him by the neck and slammed him on the wall before looking at my fur and realizing that it was golden. I was surprised that I was able to shift into my Lycan form without even being angry.
"So, Alpha Ethan, you were asking me why the color of my fur had changed, right? Didn't you notice that my claws had grown longer too?" I asked him with a cunning smile while showing him my claws.
When he saw how long and thick my claws were, he started dragging himself backwards while I kept approaching him while grinning ear to ear.
"You see, Alpha Ethan, this is the problem with black magic; it can betray you at anytime. Now look at yourself; your friend has left you behind, and now you are going to pay for the crime the both of you committed," I said to him while approaching him.
"Please don't kill me, Alpha Darian; I never wanted to do this; it was all Alpha Benson's idea," he begged me while dragging himself backwards.
"Ooh, it was his idea, but you helped him do it," I said to him before jumping on him.
"Please!!!!" He kept on screaming as I dug my claws into his chest and pulled out his heart.
"In your next world, don't you dare lay your filthy hands on my mate," I said to his dead body before throwing the heart away.
With that, I used my palm that was covered in blood and closed his eyes, which were wide open even though he was no longer breathing.
Feeling satisfied, I turned my gaze towards Elena, who was sitting on the ground, her back leaning against the wall. I could clearly see the fright written all over her face; possibly she was thinking that I was going to hurt her as usual.
Shifting back into my human form, I walked to where she was sitting and sat beside her.
"Are you okay?" I asked her, and she nodded while avoiding my gaze.
With that, a silent atmosphere engulfed the whole area; only the sound of our heartbeat could be heard.
"Thank you," she said to me, breaking the silence, and I nodded without looking at her.
After a while, I turned around only to see her staring at me. Once our gazes met, she immediately turned her face away.
Stretching out my hand, I held her chin and turned her face towards mine, and without asking for her permission, I placed a soft kiss on her lips.
