Alpha's Redemption: A Second Chance Mate

Chapter 31: In Need Of Assistance

Ch. 31 / 70 Jan 22, 2025

Darian's POV

"Can you believe that Elena was never mated to that jerk?" I asked Ciara before punching the wall angrily, and immediately it made a hole.

"Darian! You punch my wall like that again, and I'm going to break your head," Ciara thundered angrily, her eyes boring into me with an icy glare.

"I'm sorry, Ciara, but how can my very own twin brother do that to me? He himself said that he could have marked my mate if his pack wasn't attacked, and the worst part of it is that I don't even know which of my rival Alphas took her," I said to Ciara, my voice raising in anger.

"Hope you killed him." Ciara asked me after some minutes of silence.

"Of course, how do you expect me to kill my twin brother?" I asked her while raising my hands in frustration.

"Then shut up and sit down." Ciara commanded me, and without uttering any other word, I drew the wooden chair and sat down.

Standing up, she took the cup of water that was on the table and handed it to me.

"I'm not thirsty," I said to her, and immediately she glared angrily at me. Without hesitating, I collected the cup of water from her and gulped it down.

"Thank you," I said to her while returning the cup, and without replying, she collected the cup from me and returned it to the table before taking a seat opposite me.

"Do you mind telling me everything that happened out there?" She asked me, and I nodded and started telling her everything, including how Richard was locked up in an invisible cage, something that I had never seen before.

"Wait," she said to me once I made mention of the invisible cage.

"You mean the cage was invisible, but it became visible when he punched it?" She asked me, and I nodded positively.

"Do you know anything about it?" I asked her, because from the look on her face, it was as if she had seen it before.

"Maybe," she said to me while standing up from the chair where she was sitting.

With that, she approached a cupboard that was in the chamber and brought out a brown powder.

"Come forward," she said to me, and I stood up and approached her.

"What is that?" I asked her while looking at the powder she was pouring into her hand.

"You will see," she said to me while taking some steps backward, and with that, she threw the powder up in such a way that it poured on me. With that, I furrowed my brows at her while wondering what she was doing.

"Now come forward," she said to me, and without hesitating, I started approaching her, but I was blocked by an invisible barrier after taking some steps.

Stretching out my hand, I touched the barrier, but I couldn't see it, and I couldn't walk past it.

"What the hell?" I asked her, recognizing that I had been imprisoned just like Richard back in his palace.

"Get me out of here," I said to Ciara while pushing the invisible barrier, but she stood there looking at me expressionlessly.

"Ciara!" I screamed at her in anger, and immediately she smiled.

"Actually, there is no way out; you have to break it just the same way you did back there," she said to me while grinning ear to ear.

"Ciara!" I screamed her name once again before punching the cage angrily, and immediately the chamber shook violently.

"Calm down, Wolfy Lycan; don't ruin my chamber for me, please," she said to me sarcastically before bending down and blowing away some of the powder that surrounded me.

"It's okay, I have broken the portal," she said to me, and immediately I stretched out my hand. I couldn't feel the barrier anymore.

"What on earth was that?" I asked her after stepping away from the place where I was standing.

"It's a secret weapon invented by the witches; they made use of it when the war between werewolves, vampires, and witches was still going on. Witches believed that they were the only ones who deserved to live while werewolves and vampires deserved to be exterminated, so during the great war between the three creatures, witches used the invisible cage to protect themselves and to also imprison werewolves and vampires, doing to them whatever that pleased them. Mind you, it's only the person that created it that can break it; the prisoner can't break it," she said to me before returning the powder to the cupboard.

"If the powder was a tool designed by witches, then how come the people who abducted Elena have it, including you too?" I asked her with an inquisitive look.

"If anyone has it, that means only two things: either the person is a witch or a wizard, or the person knows one," she said to me, and immediately I furrowed my brows at her.

"Don't look at me like that; just as I told you before, everyone breaks the rules, and if I have a witch in my pack, that's none of your business," she said to me, and I heaved heavily before returning to the chair where I was sitting down.

"The use of black magic by Werewolves has started becoming alarming—first the supreme Alphas, then my rival Alphas that took my mate, and now you," I said to her, but she ignored me as if I wasn't even talking to her, and she rolled her eyes at me like a teenage girl.

"You can't conclude that someone is evil just because he uses black magic; you can only say that if the person uses it for a bad purpose, and trust me, I use it for a good purpose," she said to me, but I remained silent.

"Do you have any clue as to which of your rival Alphas took your mate?" She asked me, and I shook my head negatively.

"I don't, but I'm suspecting one person," I said to her.

"And who is it?" she asked me with an inquisitive tone.

"Alpha Benson, the Alpha of the Bluemoon Pack," I said to her.

"Why haven't you gone after him?" She asked me.

"Because I'm not sure yet and I don't have enough soldiers to go after him," I said to her, my voice raising in anger.

"I have an idea," she said to me.

"And what is it?" I asked her with an urgent tone.

"You should go and ask your brother for help," she said to me, and immediately I turned my gaze towards her, my eyes boring into her with an icy glare.

"Never," I said to her before turning my gaze away.
