"Elena's POV
"I couldn't believe my eyes when Richard rushed inside the chamber and pounced on the strange werewolf who was trying to break into the invisible cage that Ciara had used in protecting my baby and me. It was really thoughtful of Ciara to protect inside the cage because if she hadn't, I couldn't imagine what the strange werewolf would have done to me and my baby.
Some minutes after Richard had left with the strange werewolf, he returned accompanied by Ciara, who immediately rushed towards me and freed me from the cage. Once I came out, I immediately hugged her tightly. I didn't even know how to thank her for saving my life and that of my baby; saying thank you wasn't enough to thank her for everything she has been doing for me.
When we disengaged from the hug, my gaze met that of Richard, and despite the fact that I was angry with him, I approached him and thanked him for coming to my aid, and he nodded without replying.
"Ciara can I ask you a question you a question?" I asked her, and she nodded.
"Do you know Richard too?" I asked her, and she smiled at me.
"I knew Richard even before Darian, only that when I met him for the first time, he was just a teenager who trusted no one, and in addition to that, I didn't even know that he was from a royal family because of how he concealed his identity. He stayed with me for only a week before disappearing without letting me know, and the next thing that I heard was that he had become the new Alpha of Moonlight territory despite his young age, and afterwards I also discovered that he's Darian's twin brother," Ciara said to me, and I nodded.
"And the people who attacked us, who are they?" I asked Ciara once again.
"It's the new Alpha of the Red Moon Pack; he said that your mate killed his father during the war he had waged in order to rescue you, and he came to avenge his father's death, and knowing how strong your mate was, he brought his vampire friend along," Ciara explained to me once again.
"I'm very grateful to you and Richard for saving my life and that of my baby," I said to the both of them, and they nodded.
"By the way, where is Darian?" Richard asked us with an inquisitive look.
"He went to recover his pack alone since you had refused to help him," Ciara said to Richard, who widened his eyes in surprise.
"Come on, Ciara, how could you have allowed him to embark on such a murderous mission alone? No wonder I have been having the feeling that something bad was going to happen to him," Richard said to Ciara, who ached her brows at Richard.
"You mean you had the feeling that something bad was about to happen to him?" Ciara asked Richard, and he nodded positively.
"Wow, wonderful. That means that your twin bond has formed again," Ciara said to Richard, who frowned at her.
"Isn't it obvious? What were you expecting when you are always sending him to come and hunt me with his deadly requests?" Richard asked Ciara, who was busy grinning from ear to ear.
"Hello, aren't we supposed to be discussing how to rescue Darian instead of some kind of twin bond?" I asked both of them, and they nodded.
"I think she's right; do you have any plans?" Ciara asked Richard with an inquisitive look.
Darian's POV
It took my soldiers and me an hour to arrive at Wolfenwood Pack. We would have arrived earlier if we had shifted into our wolf forms, but if we had shifted into our wolf form, we would have arrived at the pack all tired while we needed our full energy because of what awaited us in Wolfeenwood Pack. Also, if the supreme Alphas had the power to prevent me from mind-linking with my soldiers, surely they also had the power to make my soldiers forget that I'm their Alpha and to turn them against me, further complicating the task for me.
On getting to the palace, I asked my soldiers to create a diversion by attacking the soldiers in the palace. Meanwhile, I took some of my soldiers and followed one of the secret passages that led into the palace. I wanted to meet the Supreme Alphas face-to-face this time around without the intervention of any soldiers. After my coronation, I personally supervised the renovation of the palace, so I knew all the secret passages and tunnels leading in and outside the palace; there were some that even my Beta knew nothing about.
While the soldiers that I had brought along were busy fighting against the soldiers in the palace, I carried three soldiers with me, followed through one of the secret passages, and started making my way towards the interior of the palace.
We were still walking through the secret passage when we suddenly started hearing heavy footsteps coming in our direction. I didn't need to think twice before knowing that it was the Supreme Alphas; they had probably sensed my presence and decided to come and meet me instead.
I could clearly see the fright written all over the faces of the three soldiers that were with me as their footsteps kept on shaking the whole area, and in no time they were standing just meters away from me, their red eyes glowing and a wicked grin plastered over their faces.
Meanwhile, the soldiers that were with me on seeing the beast standing in front of us immediately took their heels, leaving only me behind. It was a good thing that I wasn't counting on any of them to fight with me; if not, they would have disappointed me.
"And see who decided to pay us a surprise visit?" the voices of the supreme sounded in unison before they burst into a round of laughter.
"I won't actually call this a surprise visit because it's a dead visit," I said to them before bringing out a powder and puffing it in the whole area.
