Alpha's Redemption: A Second Chance Mate

Chapter 63: Seeking Justice For My Father

Ch. 63 / 70 Jan 22, 2025

Adrian's Point of View

"Hey bro, mom was worried about you yesterday; where did you go again?" Justin asked me while walking into the training center.

"I went to see Alpha Benson in order to confirm what Mummy said," I said to him.

"Seriously? Are you planning to give Mom a heart attack or what? The last time you left without informing anybody, you almost got yourself killed, and yesterday you still left again without telling anybody, and the worst part of it is that you went to see the same person who was responsible for Dad's death," he said to me, and I sighed heavily.

"I'm sorry, bro. I should have at least informed you before leaving; if I didn't inform Mum, it's because I knew that she would never allow me to go," I said to him.

"Well, you are right about it, but please, from now on, avoid doing things that will get Mum worried; she is already going through a lot," he said to me, and I nodded.

By the way, what did you find out?" He asked me.

"Mum was right; Alpha Benson was the one who dragged Dad into his mess, and as if that wasn't enough for him, he tried dragging me too into it, and when I confronted him yesterday, he denied it. Unluckily for him, I listened to his heartbeat when he was talking," I said to Justin, who sighed heavily.

"Hope he didn't try to hurt you when you told him that you knew the truth." Justin asked me, and I scoffed at his question.

"He dared not; it was the contrary; you could have been there to witness the fright written all over his face when I informed him that I had discovered the truth, and to get him more frightened, I informed him that I was going to help Alpha Darian destroy his pack," I said to Justin, and immediately he furrowed his brows at me.

"You aren't going to do that, right?" Justin asked me with an inquisitive look.

"Of course I'm going to do it; he killed our father, and trust me, he's not getting away with it; I'm going to make him pay." I said this to Justin.

"You are right, bro, he has to pay for what he did. Normally, issues like this are supposed to be solved by the supreme Alphas, but unfortunately, the supreme Alphas are also accomplices in it," he said to me.

"You are right, and that's why we have to take issues into our own hands," I said to him.

"But how are we going to do it? Should we wage war against his pack?" Justin asked me.

"Well, that was my first thought, but you know well that Mom will never agree to that," I said to him.

"That's true, so what do you suggest we do then?" Justin asked me.

"Alpha Darian is planning to wage war against his pack, and I'm thinking about offering him military support," I said to Justin, who nodded in agreement.

"That's a good idea, but I doubt that Alpha Darian will accept your proposal. Mind you, he was never on good terms with Dad; he might think that we are planning something against him," Justin said to me.

"Well, that might be true, but there's no harm in trying. If he eventually refuses, just as you said, then so be it; at least he will still do the work for us, and aside from that, I want his Pack and ours to be on good terms," I said to Justin.

"Well, you are the new Alpha, and you are already acting like one, and believe me, I will always support every good decision you take on behalf of our pack," he said to me before tapping me on the shoulder.

"I'm so happy to hear that, Bro.; your support means a lot to me," I said to him, and he smiled at me in return.

"Do you have any idea where Mum is? I need to go and see her; I'm sure that she's already mad at me," I said to Justin.

"She's probably in her chamber as usual," Justin said to me.

"OK, bro, let me go and check on her, I said to him before walking away and heading towards my mother's room.

Once I arrived in front of her room, I placed a knock on her door and waited for her reply, but after some minutes, I got no reply.

Sighing heavily, I knocked again, but still I got no reply. Placing my ear on the door, I tried to sense if someone was inside the room, but immediately I placed my ear on the door. I heard the voice of someone sobbing from inside. Without hesitating, I quickly opened the door, only to find my mother wiping away the tears on her face. Once she saw me, she immediately hid something behind her, but unknown to her, I had already seen it.

"Hey Mum, are you okay?" I asked her before rushing to where she was.

"Yes Adrian, I'm okay, I was just thinking about something. By the way, why didn't you knock before coming in?" she asked me while hiding her face from me.

"I knocked more than three times, but you didn't reply. What's wrong? Why were you crying?" I asked her.

"Everything is okay; I was just thinking of something," she said to me in reply.

"Mum, you were looking at Dad's picture when I came in; you don't need to lie to me," I said to her, and she nodded. At the same time, tears started streaming down her cheeks again.

"I really miss your father; I miss him so much. I tried stopping him from joining Alpha Benson, but he didn't listen. Maybe if I had tried harder, he would still be alive," she said to me while sobbing bitterly. Without hesitating, I hugged her tightly, allowing her to pour her tears on my shoulder.

"What happened to Dad isn't your fault; he could have refused, but he made the choice to join him, so please stop blaming yourself," I said to her while hugging her.

"Adrian, promise me that you aren't going to do the same thing your father did," she said to me after calming down a little bit.

"Of course, Mum, I would never do such a thing, I promise," I said to her reassuringly, and immediately she smiled at me before hugging me, only if she knew that I was planning to do worse than what my father is doing by collaborating with Alpha Darian to destroy Alpha Benson and his pack.
