Alpha's Redemption: A Second Chance Mate

Chapter 36: Support Found

Ch. 36 / 70 Jan 22, 2025

Darian's POV

"So, if I understand well, they took your pack and two of your rival Alphas abducted your mate, and now they want you to take your pack back and give them back their territories?" Dexter Ciara's younger brother asked me, and I nodded.

"To be sincere, Alpha Darian, your case is really complicated, but what I still don't understand is how your mate and pup were abducted right under your watch," he said to me, and immediately I bent my head in shame. I didn't really know how I was going to explain to him that she wasn't abducted under my watch, that she ran away from my castle because of me, and that was how they got the opportunity to abduct her.

"Just as I said earlier, Dexter, that's a long story," Ciara said to Dexter, sparing me from getting humiliated.

Dexter, noticing that Ciara didn't want me to talk about it, nodded in agreement.

"Ok, if I may ask, how may I help you?" Dexter asked me, and immediately I looked at Ciara, who signaled for me to speak up.

"Actually, I need to go and save my mate as soon as possible, but I don't have enough soldiers with me; the Supreme Alphas assigned only twenty soldiers to me, and I can't fight against a pack that has thousands of soldiers with only twenty soldiers," I said to him while praying deep down that he accepts to assign some of his soldiers to me.

When I made my request known to him, he remained silent for some minutes, staring at me as if he were searching for something in my eyeballs, and after what seemed like forever, he finally spoke up.

"Do you know why I don't like you, Alpha Darian?" He asked me, and immediately I shook my head negatively.

"Five years ago, when Crimson Moon Pack was under attack by rogues, you were among the Alphas that Alpha Adrian, my sister's mate, had asked for assistance from, but you refused to assist us just because Crimson Moon Pack rebelled against the supreme Alphas," he said to me, but I remained silent, knowing well that he was saying the truth.

"Alpha Adrian sacrificed his life for us; he and his soldiers fought against the rogues alone while we were busy getting everyone out of the pack. If you had assisted us back then, the rogues wouldn't have overpowered the Alpha and his soldiers, and maybe the Crimson Moon Pack will still exist today. I knew that one day everyone would go through what the Crimson Moon Pack went through; everyone would soon discover who the supreme Alphas are, and happily you have them. The worst part of it is that you can't save your own mate and pup because of them," he said to me, but I remained silent.

"I'm not that heartless, Alpha Darian; I will assign some of my soldiers to you, but only two hundred, and that will also be under a condition," he said to me.

"What is your condition?" I asked him inquisitively, wishing that he didn't ask for something beyond my power.

"If my soldiers assist you in rescuing your mate and your pup, you will have to give us some of your territories to occupy. Is that okay with you?" He asked me with an inquisitive look.

"That's okay with me," I replied brusquely, and immediately he furrowed his brows at me. Possibly he was thinking that I was going to hesitate before accepting, but if he knows that I long for nothing else than finding my mate and pup, even if he had requested half of my pack, I would have given it to him as long as he's ready to assign some of his soldiers to me.

"To be sincere, Alpha Darian, you have really changed, because the Alpha Darian I had known would have never given up even a single territory of his pack for any reason, but I'm someone who has trust issues; even Ciara is aware of it," he said to me while smiling at Ciara, who has been silent all these years.

Standing up, Dexter went to one of the lockers in the chamber, took a piece of paper and an ink container with a writing stick, and sat down and started writing on the paper.

After writing, he pushed the paper towards me with the writing stick.

"This is the evidence of our agreement; read it and sign it, and afterwards give it to my sister to sign too. I left a space there too; it's the witness part," he said to me.

Without even going through whatever he wrote on the paper, I signed it and passed it to Ciara, who took her time and read everything written on the piece of paper before signing it.

After signing it, she gave it back to me, and I handed it back to Dexter, who smiled before signing too.

Afterwards, he asked us to follow him to his training center, where he allowed me to choose two hundred of the best soldiers among his soldiers.

"So, when are you attacking?" Ciara asked me as we were heading back to her pack, accompanied by the two hundred men.

"Tomorrow night, I want to take them by surprise. Are you coming?" I asked her.

"No, Darian, I don't engage in warfare anymore," she said to me, and I nodded.

"Thank you for everything." I said to her, and she smiled lightly.

"Don't thank me yet, Darian; save your mate first before thanking me," she said to me, and I nodded.

"By the way, I know that you don't like anything having a connection with black magic, but trust me, you will need it, especially how to break through the invisible cage. Do you mind if I teach you that?" She asked me.

"I will really appreciate that," I said to her, my voice filled with gratitude.

"Are you sure? Because you will be breaking the rules of werewolves."She said this to me while smiling.

"Everyone breaks the rules, Ciara, even those who make it," I said to her, reminding her of what she had told me earlier.

With that, she smiled at me before speeding off.
