Alpha's Redemption: A Second Chance Mate

Chapter 37: He's Here

Ch. 37 / 70 Jan 22, 2025

Elena's POV

It has been three days since I have been locked up in this room. They only allow me to come out in the morning and in the evening to take my birth and also bathe my baby, and afterwards they will take me back to the room. That's where I will stay till the end of the evening, when I will be allowed to come out and take my bath again and also clean my baby up.

Staying in the room remembers me nothing else than the moments I had stayed in Alpha Darian's palace locked up from morning to dawn. The only difference is that the room in which I was occupying Alpha Darian's palace had everything inside, including the bathroom and toilet, and I had no baby back then. It was only Tricksy and I against the world, but here it's Richard and I against the world. Tricksy had decided to ghost me since then, leaving me all to myself.

Sometimes when I'm bored, I try talking to Richard, even though I know he can't reply. At least I know deep down that he can hear what I'm saying, and he too wishes to sympathize with me, but the time for that hasn't arrived yet. Looking at him lying in my bosom, I can't help but smile to myself. He's the only reason why I'm still standing firmly despite everything that I'm going through. How I wish Tricksy would find it in her heart to forgive me. I really miss her.

"I'm not angry with you, Ana," Tricksy said to me after mind-linking with me, and immediately I smiled to myself.

"But next time, if I ask you to do something, do it; if not, I will ghost you for a whole month," she said to me.

"Yes, your highness," I replied jokingly, and immediately she smiled at me too.

"So tell me, do you have any idea of how we are going to get out of here?" She asked me through the link.

"To be sincere, Tricksy, I don't have any clue; as I'm talking to you right now, there are two guards guarding the entrance, in case we try making any bad moves," I said to Tricksy, and she sighed heavily.

"What about if we create a scene that will distract the guards, and then we will use the opportunity to escape?" Tricksy suggested it to me.

"That's a good idea, Tricksy, but I have a baby with me; I'm not ready to take the same risk I took back then in the Wolfeenwood Pack; I won't forgive myself if anything happens to Richard," I said to her through the link.

"Guess we have to wait patiently for mate to come and rescue us," she said to me with a dejected tone.

"You are right, but do you think that he's going to come?" I asked her through the link.

"Yes, of course. If he had come all the way from our pack to Richard's pack, not minding the dangers of the thick forest, I don't think that there's anything that will stop him from coming here too," she said to me through the link.

"I hope so, Tricksy," I said to her in response.

"Tell me, Elena, if a mate comes and rescues us and afterwards asks for your forgiveness, will you forgive him?" She asked me, and immediately I heaved heavily before lying on the bed flatly with Richard lying on my stomach.

"To be sincere, Tricksy, I don't know what to say to you; after everything he did to me in the past, I still don't know if I'm ever going to find it in my heart to forgive him or not," I said to Tricksy before laying Richard on the bed because he had already dozed off.

"Tell me, Tricksy, if you were in my shoes, what would you have done?" I asked Tricksy, who was still silent after the reply I gave her.

"I will forgive him," she said to me immediately.

"That's easy for you to say; after all, you weren't the one who he mistreated back then," I said to Tricksy while feigning to be angry.

"Come on, Elena, for how long are you going to stay angry at him? Remember what Alpha Benson told you earlier—that he has lost his pack, and I'm sure that someone else took over his pack while he was out there looking for us. As long as I know Alpha Darian, no one could have been able to take over his pack if he was around," Tricksy said to me, and I sighed heavily without replying.

"Ok, let's make a deal, Elena. If Alpha Darian comes here to save us instead of finding a way to save his pack, you will forgive him, but if he doesn't, you are free to remain angry at him forever," Tricksy said to me, and I furrowed my brows as if she were standing right in front of me.

"Ok, I accept your deal," I said to Tricksy after some seconds of silence.

"Yes!" she exclaimed happily. I know that I'm going to win," she said to me confidently, and immediately I chuckled softly without replying.

Afterwards, I lay motionlessly on the bed while waiting to be carried away soon by the calmness of the night.

I was slowly drifting to sleep when I started hearing the sounds of wolves howling angrily, accompanied by the sounds of objects landing on the rooftop.

As the sound was getting louder, my baby, who was sleeping peacefully, jerked up and started crying. Without hesitating, I carried him and started trying to calm him down. Meanwhile, the howling of the werewolves kept on getting louder every second.

As I was still trying to calm my baby down, the door suddenly burst open, and immediately Alpha Benson walked in, fuming in anger. He was holding a bag that I couldn't figure out what was inside.

"I knew it," he said to me. "I knew that your mate was surely going to come in order to play the tough Alpha as usual, but this time around I'm going to make him regret ever coming," he said to me before digging his hand into the bag and bringing out something that looked like powder, and with that, he started pouring it all around the room till the door post. After pouring it, he glared at me angrily before walking out and locking the door from outside.

Once he left, I clutched Richard to my chest before bending down to touch the powder, but my hand couldn't pass through; it was as if there was a barrier in front of me. I didn't think twice before remembering that it was the same powder that was used in caging Richard the day I was abducted. On seeing it, it dawned on me that we had been caged in the room with no way out.
