Alpha's Redemption: A Second Chance Mate

Chapter 66: Our Happiness

Ch. 66 / 70 Jan 22, 2025

Darian's Point Of View

After Adrian's departure, I spent over two more hours in Richard's pack before taking my leave.

Actually, I was already missing Elena and Richard, and I needed to see them in order to be at ease. Also, for the past few days, I have been occupied with finding a means to recover my pack, and I haven't been spending enough time with them.

Sighing heavily, I kicked the horse in order for it to increase its speed. In less than ten minutes, I was already back at the pack.

Once I arrived, one of my soldiers came and took the horse to the stable while I started heading towards my chamber, but as I was walking in, I saw Elena standing outside alone while backing me.

Smiling to myself, I slowly approached her and hugged her from behind, and immediately she gasped in fear.

"Hi, my angel, how are you?" I asked her before kissing her on the neck.

"Come on, Darian, you scared me," she said to me as I was hugging her.

"Sorry, my angel, I couldn't withhold myself when I saw you; that's why I hugged you like that in order to feel your warm embrace," I said to her before kissing her again on the neck, and immediately she giggled.

"You should actually stop doing that; it's tingling me," she said to me while shifting her head so that I could stop kissing her on the neck.

"I never knew I had such an effect on you; by the way, where is Richard?" I asked her.

"He's asleep; it seems like you didn't have much to do in Richard's Pack today because you came earlier than usual," she said to me.

Actually, I came back because of you. I was missing you and Richard, and I decided to come back and see you guys," I said to her, and immediately she turned around and looked at me with furrowed brows.

"Liar," she said to me with a pouted mouth.

"What makes you think that I'm lying? It's because of you guys that I came back," I said to her before removing the strands of hair on her face.

"I still don't believe," she said to me, and immediately I sighed before wrapping my hand around her waist and pulling her closer.

"What are you doing?" She asked me with furrowed brows. Without answering her question, I placed a soft kiss on her lips, and immediately she started blushing like a little teenage girl who just got her first kiss.

"So do you believe me now?" I asked her with a warm smile.

"Not completely, just a little bit," she said to me, and immediately I poked her nose jokingly.

"Just admit that you want me to kiss you again," I said to her, and immediately she rolled her eyes at me.

"Why would I say that? After all, it's not true," she said to me with a pouted mouth, and immediately I nodded in agreement and tried pulling away, but immediately she held the collar of my shirt and pulled me closer, and before I could understand what was going on, she claimed my lips in a passionate kiss.

"I thought you said you didn't want the kiss." I asked her after disengaging from the kiss.

"I don't remember saying that," she said to me before rolling her eyes at me.

"Unbelievable," I muttered to myself in a low tone.

"Do you mind going on a walk with me?" I asked her.

"No, I don't mind," she said to me, and with that, I held her hand and we started walking away from the pack.

"Have you finally found a means to recover your pack?" she asked me as we were walking away.

"Not yet, but I'm still on it, and believe me, it won't be long before I find a way," I said to her, and immediately her facial expression changed.

"Hey, is everything okay?" I asked her once I noticed her sad facial expression.

"Yes, everything is okay; it's just that I remembered what happened the last time you went to Wolfenwood Pack," she said to me with a sad tone.

"Come on, my angel, that's never going to happen again. I will never do anything that will shatter your heart in that manner again," I said to her before pulling her closer and hugging her.

"Are you sure?" She asked me before pulling away to look me in the eyes.

"Yes, of course; I'm never going to do that again, I promise," I said to her reassuringly.

"By the way, follow me; I want to show you something," I said to her.

"What is it?" she asked me.

"Just follow me; you will see it when we get there," I said to her before holding her hand and walking away with her. After walking for some minutes, we arrived in front of a little garden I had built beside a stream of water.

"Wow, you did this?" she asked me, and I nodded.

"To be sincere, I never knew you were this creative," she said to me with a warm smile.

"Well, you have just witnessed it; this is where I usually come to cool off my head. From now on, you can come whenever you want," I said to her before kissing her on the forehead.

"Do you want to make a wish?" I asked her after some minutes of silence.

"Yes, but I don't have a coin," she said to me.

"Well, I have got your back," I said to her before bringing out a coin and handing it to her.

With that, she mumbled some words before throwing them into the stream of water.

"What did you wish for?" I asked her after she threw the coin into the stream of water.

"I wished for the happiness we are experiencing right now to keep on abounding day after day, even though it means that we will live in the forest," she said to me, and I smiled at her.

"Thanks for wishing for that, and believe me, I will do everything on my part for this happiness of ours to keep on abounding," I said to her before pulling closer and allowing her to rest her head on my chest.
