Alpha's Redemption: A Second Chance Mate

Chapter 34: A Letter From The Abductor

Ch. 34 / 70 Jan 22, 2025

Darian's POV

My soldiers and I were just some meters away from Ciara's pack when we started hearing the grunts and howls of werewolves. Without hesitating, we immediately jumped down from our horses and started running towards the pack, and just as expected, the pack was under attack by rogues. Without hesitation, we immediately shifted into our wolf forms and dashed towards the rogues.

It was really a tough confrontation that lasted up to thirty minutes before we were able to subdue the rogues, ripping off their heads one after the other.

As we were still looking around to see if there was anyone else remaining alive, she had a loud shriek from Ciara's chamber, and without hesitating, I dashed into her, fearing that something bad hadn't happened to her. She has been very helpful to me, and I won't forgive myself if something bad ever happens to her.

Once we ran inside the chamber, we saw her sitting beside the wall, supported by Jared, her son. She was bleeding from the stomach, and from the view of things, it was as if she were the main target of the rogues; there were more than twenty rogues lying lifelessly in her chamber.

Seeing that only she and her son fought against such a large number of rogues, I couldn't help but admire her bravery.

"Are you okay, Ciara?" I asked her while squatting down beside her, and she nodded weakly.

"So, how did the meeting with your brother go?" She asked me with a failing tone.

"We will discuss that later; let's take you to the healer," I said to her before helping her up, and with the support of Jared, we led her to the healer.

It took up to two hours before she came out of the healer's chamber, grinning ear to ear as if nothing had happened to her.

Once she came out, her two sons ran and hugged her tightly. If there is one thing I still don't understand, it's why she hasn't proclaimed one of her sons as the next Alpha since she is already growing old, or maybe she thought that none of them was ready to become the new Alpha.

After speaking with her sons, she approached me where I was standing alongside my soldiers.

"How are you feeling, Ciara?" I asked her when she approached me.

"Fine and energized," she replied with a warm smile. "Thank you for helping my guards fight against the rogues," she said to me with a warm smile.

"Don't mention it, Ciara; I owe you more than that," I said to her, and she nodded.

"But how come your wounds took so long before healing?" I asked her with an inquisitive tone, and immediately she sighed heavily.

"The healer told me that the claws of the rogues were coated in wolfsbane," she said to me.

"What!" I exclaimed in surprise. "How come they weren't affected by it?" I asked her in surprise.

"I don't have any idea, and trust me, I'm not surprised; I have seen many things in this our supernatural world to the extent that none of them surprises me anymore; instead, I consider every strange thing I encounter a new discovery," she said to me, and I nodded.

"By the way, the rogues brought a message for you," she said to me before handing me an envelope covered with blood.

"The rogues were planning to kill me after handing me the message, but unfortunately for them, this she-wolf right here still has many years ahead of her," she said to me while tapping her chest, and immediately I shook my head in disbelief.

Without hesitating, I opened the envelope and brought out the letter that was inside. Normally, I would have already known who sent the message through the seal, but unfortunately, the seal was covered with blood.

Once I brought out the letter that was still intact due to the envelope, I read it silently for some minutes, and after reading it, I squeezed the paper angrily and threw it away.

"What does it say, Darian?" Ciara asked me as I was fuming in anger.

"Those lunatics want me to wage war against the supreme Alphas in order to regain my pack and give them back their territories that are under my control; if not, they will send me the dead corpses of my mate and my pup," I said to Ciara, my voice filled with anger.

"And who are these lunatics you are talking about?" She asked me.

"Alpha Benson and Alpha Ethan, the Alpha of Bloodmoon Pack and the Alpha of Red Moon Pack," I said to her, my voice filled with anger.

"Ok, that isn't good news. I thought we were dealing with one pack here, but it seems like it's two; and what about your brother? Did he agree to help you?" She asked me with an inquisitive look.

"No," I replied while avoiding her gaze.

"Ok, second bad news for the day, do you know any pack that can offer you assistance?" She asked me while expecting me to say yes, at least.

"No," I replied once again, and immediately she shook her head in disbelief.

"And how are you planning to go and save your mate with only twenty men?" Ciara asked me with an inquisitive look.

"I don't think we are only twenty," I said to Ciara, who furrowed her brows at me.

"And how many are you, then?" Ciara asked me with an inquisitive look.

"If we add your soldiers to mine, I think we will be up to a hundred at least," I said to Ciara, and immediately she shook her head in disbelief.

"And here I was thinking that you had a solution only for you to be blabbering rubbish as usual," she said to me before turning to one of the soldiers.

"Go get the horses. I'm taking this dummy somewhere," she said to one of her soldiers, who nodded and started walking out.

"Ciara, did you just call me a dummy?" I asked her, and immediately she turned her gaze towards me and rolled her eyes at me before sighing loudly.
