Darian's POV
"Hello Darian, It's been a while; did you miss me?" She asked me, jolting me back to reality. When I tried opening my mouth to speak, the words refused to come out.
Since I became the Alpha of this pack, I have fought against many strange creatures, but not against someone who was beheaded right in front of me and whose dead body was buried right in front of me. Her presence was already sending cold shivers down my spine, and if I didn't gather myself together, I might shift back into my human form, and that was the last thing I wanted. I had to be in my form, precisely the Lycan form, in order to face anything that was about to happen.
"Come on, Darian, why are you staring at me like someone who has seen a ghost?" She asked me with a cunning smile hovering over her face.
"Seriously, did she just ask me why I'm staring at her like a ghost? Isn't she a ghost?" I asked myself inwardly.
"I know you will be wondering how I'm still alive, Darian, but the truth is that you already know the answer," she said to me, and I furrowed my brows at her, wondering what she meant by I already know the answer.
"If you recall well, the day your father executed me, I promised him that I was going to come, and here I am," she said to me confidently.
"And how is that even possible? I saw your head being chopped off right in front of me," I said to her, and she chuckled mockingly at me.
"Come on, Darian, don't tell me that you too believe that witches can easily be gotten rid of; actually, that was what your dumb father thought, but he didn't know that we witches have the ability to duplicate ourselves, and that was exactly what I did, Darian; I duplicated myself, and your father executed the fake version of me while the original version was still alive, and just as I promised, I'm back," she said to me, and I nodded.
"Ok, and if I may ask, what do you want?" I asked her with an inquisitive look.
"Come on, Darian, stop playing dumb with me; you already know what I want," she said to me.
"You mean my pack?" I asked her, and she chuckled softly.
"Well, I won't call it your pack because it's already mine. Do you know how long I had to wait, Darian? Do you know how long it took me to plan everything and put everything into action, to gather all those who would be helpful to me to rule over the supreme Alphas who helped me in putting everything into action, and after all these years, taking over the same pack that your father said that I would never rule?" she said to me, and I nodded.
"I must admit that you really waited for a very long time, Luciana. I mean, you waited for over twenty-three years just to rule a pack, but the main issue here is that I'm the one ruling the pack, not my father. If you wanted this pack that badly, you should have claimed it right after my father's death. Not when I had ruled the pack for years, you just appear from nowhere and start trying to take over. It doesn't work like that, Luciana," I said to her, and she chuckled drily.
"Well, I'm sorry, Darian, but that's how it's going to work, unless there's something you can do about it," she said to me.
"Yes, Luciana, I can fight for what rightfully belongs to me," I said to her, and she pouted her mouth as if she were pitying me.
"Poor Darian, always thinking like his father, why don't you come and show me how you are going to fight for what rightfully belongs to you?" she said to me with a daring tone.
"As you wish, Milady," I said to her before bringing out my long, sharp claws and howling angrily at her. I dashed towards her; I was still in mid-air when she stretched out her hand and said something that I couldn't hear, and immediately I froze at the spot, unable to move. I kept on hanging in the air.
"Filthy werewolves," she muttered before she started speaking silently once again. Only her lips were moving, but I couldn't hear what she was saying, and in a flash of light, I immediately shifted back into my human form, and I couldn't feel my wolf anymore; it was as if she disconnected me from my wolf.
"What did you do to my wolf?" I thundered angrily at her while trying to move, but I couldn't.
"From my knowledge, the power of every werewolf is there, or am I wrong?" She asked the two supreme Alphas who were standing behind her, and they shook their heads negatively.
"So all I did was separate you from your wolf, so tell me, how are you going to fight for what rightfully belongs to you?" She asked me with a mockery tone before bursting into a round of laughter alongside the supreme Alphas that were behind her.
"Damn you, Luciana, damn you. I hope that you perish in hell." I cursed her angrily, and she chuckled drily once again.
"You see Darian, right from the beginning I have already known that you were going to be a very big threat and believe me, I'm not going to do the same mistake that I did with your father, not now that I'm so close to taking over your pack," she said to me before stretching out her hands towards me and immediately she started speaking silently once again, as she was speaking silently, my blood started heating up, and she continued the heat kept on getting intense, it was as if everything in me was boiling and I was going to explode in no time and due to the heat I kept on coughing out blood anytime I tried to speak, and despite my painful groans she kept on saying whatever she was saying, it didn't take long before my vision started failing me, and just as they say, all the whole good moments you spent during your lifetime come playing in your head like a flashback when you are about to die, that was exactly what was happening to me, the flashback I was seeing was the brief moments I spent with Elena, all the surprise kisses I gave her and aside from that nothing else.
Despite the fact that I was about to die, deep down I still felt happy. At least I saw her beautiful face for the last time before dying. I saved her and my pup from the custody of my rival Alphas, and she's also in good hands because, as far as I know, Ciara would do everything in her power to protect her and my pup from any danger. Feeling happy and satisfied, I slowly closed my eyes and gave up my ghost.
