Alpha's Redemption: A Second Chance Mate

Chapter 69: Long Story (Final Chapter)

Ch. 69 / 70 Jan 22, 2025

Darian's Point of View

"Is that all you got?" Mason, the third member of the Supreme Alphas, asked me after slamming me on the wall.

Actually, after I had vanished, I had appeared inside the palace, and luckily, when I appeared, no soldier was there. Without hesitating, I mind linked with Richard and asked him to go and help my soldiers out, and with the way the whole palace was quiet, I could already tell that Luciana had sent almost all the soldiers in the palace to Ciara's pack.

After discussing with Richard, I decided to look for where Luciana's spell book was; at least with that, I could weaken her and fight against her.

I was about to begin my search when I heard a growl behind me. Turning around, I was met by the burning eyes of Mason, one of the supreme Alphas. Before I could even react, he dashed towards me, giving me a punch that sent me crashing some distance away.

Standing up, I coughed twice before cleaning the blood from my mouth.

"That was really a nice strike," I said to him before turning towards him, and at the same time, I noticed the red cross marked on his forehead.

"What's that on your forehead? Is it the new symbol of the Wolfenwood Pack?" I asked him after getting up.

"You are about to find out," he said to me before shifting into his wolf form, and without hesitating, I immediately shifted into my Lycan form and growled angrily, and immediately he growled at me in return before dashing towards me. Without hesitating, I dashed towards him, clashing myself against him, but to my greatest surprise, I was the one sent flying in the air; it was as if I had clashed myself against a bull. In no time, I crashed myself against the wall, and immediately it was divided into two.

"What's wrong Wolfy Lycan, this wasn't what you were expecting, right?" He asked me as I was struggling to get up.

Without allowing me to get to my feet, he dashed towards me, but before he could reach where I was, I quickly rose up and blocked his strike, and without hesitating, I landed a heavy punch directly on his face. But to my greatest surprise, he didn't even flinch a little bit; it was as if my strike didn't have any effects on him; he didn't even get any single injury on his face. Before I could even think of throwing another punch, his forehead landed on mine, and immediately I lost balance. It was as if I was being struck with a hammer. The next thing I remembered was lying on the ground while Mason was busy beating the hell out of me.

"You killed my brother, and now I'm going to pay you back the favor," he said to me before lifting me from the ground and giving me a punch that sent me crashing some meters away.

"I thought you were immortal; after witnessing you being put to death, you still had the guts to come back here. Don't worry; this time around, I will specially bury you myself in order to make sure you never come back," he said to me before bursting into a round of laughter.

As I was trying to get up, he rushed towards me and gave me a kick, and immediately the door I was leaning on broke open, and I fell into the room.

Once I opened my eyes, I saw Luciana sitting in a circle that she had drawn on the ground with many other figures, and before her was a book hanging in the air.

Meanwhile, Luciana kept on mumbling some words with her two eyes closed.

As I was still struggling to get up, I shifted back into my human form due to the several injuries that had been afflicted on me.

"It's time to join my brother wherever he is," Mason said to me while approaching me, his claws already protruding out.

Once he approached me and was about to grab my neck, everywhere suddenly went dark. With that, Luciana's painful groan filled the whole room, and after some seconds, the light in the room was restored, but Luciana was lying lifelessly on the ground, blood gushing out of her neck. Meanwhile her head was lying some distance away from her body, and in front of Luciana's dead body was Ciara, who was grinning ear to ear.

At the same time the light was restored, Mason's head suddenly exploded, his blood splashing all over my face.

"And here I was thinking that you were going to do a clean job; I didn't even know that you were planning to get yourself killed again," Ciara said to me before walking to where I was.

"What just happened?" I asked her in the midst of pain.

"It's a long story," she said to me with a wicked smirk.

"Why did his head suddenly explode?" I asked her with a confused tone.

"His head exploded because I ended the fortification ritual that was going on, and the same thing that happened to him is going to happen to everyone who was being fortified through Luciana's fortification ritual," she explained to me, and immediately I understood why my strikes weren't having any effects on Mason. That was because Luciana was fortifying him through the ritual she was performing.

"Is she really dead?" I asked Ciara, and she nodded.

"No need to worry about her duplicating herself; she couldn't have performed the ritual with her clown body, so she's dead," Ciara said to me, and immediately I heaved a sigh of relief.

Taking hold of my hand, Ciara absorbed my pains until my wounds healed up.

"Thank you," I said to her, and at the same time, Richard's mind linked with me.

"Hey, are you okay?" He asked me.

"Yes, of course; what about you?" I asked him.

"I'm okay too; by the way, what did you do over? The heads of all the rival soldiers suddenly exploded, including those of Benson," he said to me.

"Well, it's a long story," I said to him in reply.
