After what I've done, it was so hard to be around Alpha Arkane, the more I see him the more I felt so bad about what I did. I would try to avoid him by lending a hand to anyone who needed my help, but it never worked. It only made me notice him even more.
He and some of his men were building his new home, and the sound they created as they worked was hard to get anyone's attention. I wished I haven't burned down his first home, he wouldn't be wasting his time now.
I walked to the river wanting to be alone. It wasn't easy seeing him knowing what had happened to him was my fault. Alpha Arkane has been so good to me, he didn't deserve it.
My head lowered sadly playing in the river with a small piece of stick. After a few minutes, I heard someone approaching me. I got up immediately seeing it was Alpha Arkane.
"Alpha Arkane," I called surprisingly.
Before he could say anything I apologize for what had happened to him.
He smiled and I felt pain emerge inside of my heart.
"Why are you apologizing for something that's not your fault," he told me.
My head lowered ashamed knowing it truly was my fault.
"If anyone should apologize it should be me?" my head quickly raised hearing what he had said.
"Salem, I should have told you about her, knowing how you feel about me. You must have been going through a lot when she was here."
Alpha Arkane reached for my hand holding my hands within his.
"After what happened yesterday, I feel I deserve it."
"No, you don't," I responded shaking my head.
"I do Salem. I feel that I should have let you know that she was my one true mate and that there can never be us for my heart belongs to her."
I pulled my hands away from him.
"I'm sorry Salem," he again apologized.
I began to cry, rain soon came pouring down. I managed to stop it.
"I didn't mean to hurt you," Alpha Arkane again apologized.
"I need to be alone, please," my back turned away from his.
As he walked away I spun around and watched him as he did.
Jane was watching us from behind a tree, she ran to hug me as the alpha left.
"I told you, you need to let him go, I just hope you do now," she said.
I nodded and held her tightly.
After the talk with the alpha he had distanced himself from me, he didn't even look at me whenever he passes me. I understand he was just giving me time to get over what had happened. I was hurt he'll never be mine, still, I feel bad about what I'd allowed to happen to him. I've decided to not let him know about it; it would be better that way.
"Salem," Jane called me into the health area.
"Do you think I should allow Madison to know I'm her daughter now or I give her a week rather than a day to process what had happened to their land?"
Jane stared at me eager to know. Before I could say anything she stopped me.
"I can't wait anymore Salem, make a portal we need to go now."
Jane held my hand and I created a portal without thinking if I should have created it. We were soon on top of a small hill not too far from the Dark Blood Pack home.
"You can go," I told Jane not wanting to follow her.
I didn't want to see Madison or the alpha.
"Salem, please come," Jane begged me. I can't do this without you."
Jane remained to plead with me until I finally decide to go. As we head to Madison I realized she needed my help to find Madison's home. I stopped as I showed where Madison dwelled.
"Go, I'll wait for you outside," I told her.
"Salem, I need to be close to you when I let her know, what if I say something foolish, or what if she doesn't believe me," Jane overthink nervously.
I decided to just go along with her, after all, I wasn't going to stay here for too long.
We went up to the porch, Jane knocked on the door. I backed away as I heard footsteps from the inside heading to the door.
Madison was so frightened when she saw me of course.
"What are you doing here?" she asked curiously.
"Jane, tell her," I instructed. I couldn't stand to look the she-wolf in the eyes who took my baby from me.
"I'm your stolen daughter, Madison."
Madison's mouth dropped open in surprise.
The door close behind her as she immediately exits the house.
"Let me see your birthmark," she got closer to Jane.
Jane showed her on her back. Madison hugged Jane tightly in her arms in tears, Jane cried with her as well.
"The wolf who sold me, told me who my father was," said Jane in tears, that's how I knew you were my mother.
"Deucalion!" Madison shouted.
I heard a heavy footstep coming downstairs, I walked from the house and stood beside a tall tree. I didn't want to be close to him.
I wanted to hide but I was so happy for Jane, I watched from the side of the tree. Alpha Deucalion spotted me as he smiled happily for Madison, he just kept looking at me. I hide behind the tree.
"Salem and I are sisters," I heard Jane.
"Rain," I heard Madison called refusing to not use my true name.
I didn't answer.
She kept calling and soon I heard her approaching me.
"I'll be waiting for you," I told Jane running off into the hoods, back to the hill where the portal had taken us. I sat eagerly waiting on her to return.
My hands quickly went to my neck feeling a sharp pain, I felt something strange as I did. I groan as I pulled it out from my neck, it was a strange pointed object. I tried to get up but I fell to the ground feeling weak.
The entire place began to get blurry and I saw a foggy image of a large brown shoe coming towards me.
"I'll make sure you're no longer a threat to us," I heard a raspy male voice.
My eyes closed passing out.
