Melody
"Your entire family is here, why don't we get married here?"
Though I know that my wedding with Dorian was given, I never expected him to ask the wedding venue to be moved.
Agreed that my entire family is over here, I don't know if I want my wedding to happen here, because even though I spent most of my life here, this place also holds so many painful memories.
"Have our wedding over here?" I repeated with dismay.
Having my wedding here in the Shadow pack was a desire I couldn't dare to harbour.
"You promised me, Mel, you can't change your mind."
Listening to Dorian's fear-filled voice snatched me out of my thoughts. I raised my head and met his gaze. His eyes were hopeful and pleading as he looked at me.
Did he think that I was about to decline the proposal?
I shook my head and cupped his cheek.
"I am not about to change my mind."
He opened his mouth and closed it like a fish, his eyes widening in surprise.
"Really?"
"Trust me, Dorian, I won't call off this wedding," I ascertained.
Our eyes locked and we both stared into each other's eyes as if we could read our inner thoughts.
"I love you, Mel," He kissed my forehead.
I know that it isn't right to let my fears get in the way of my life. I should live my life happily, but I just can't help the strange feeling of fear in me.
"I want to spend the rest of my life with you," Dorian continued.
"Me too."
I honestly do want to spend the rest of my life with Dorian. I want to be with him, but a tiny part of me keeps objecting.
Dorian kissed my lips and pulled me by the waist. His hand caught my chin as he kissed me.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and returned the kiss with fervour. His hand went under my dress, squeezing my back.
I let out a moan as he brushed his canine through my neck. He licked my neck and slowly loosened my zipper.
The cloth fell off my shoulder as he laid my back slowly on the grass.
"You're beautiful, Mel," He kissed my navel and his hand fumbled with my waist as he tried to open the zipper of my trousers.
Placing gentle kisses on my body from my neck down to my navel. His touch sent a sizzling sensation through me.
I bit on my lower lip to stop myself from making a sound. Dorian stared at my half-nude body, watching with so much adoration as if he was seeing something special.
His wandering eyes landed on my neck and he licked his lips, letting out a low growl.
"I want to make you mine, Mel. I can't wait."
Dorian's words made butterflies dance in my belly.
"Take me, Dorian, I'm all yours."
His eyes searched mine as if in search of any sign of uncertainty. If only I could show him that I want him as much as he does me.
"Are you sure?" He asked again.
I took my hair off my shoulder and posed so that he could see my shoulder blade. Dorian locked our gazes for a while, then his hand grabbed my waist as he pulled me close.
He kissed me, this time roughly. He rolled atop me. Kissing every part of my body. His teeth elongated as he kissed my neck.
This is it. I am finally getting marked.
As a teenager, I have always dreamed of getting marked by my mate. I wondered what it felt like, but all hope of getting marked died the day I was rejected by Derek.
Not in my wildest did I ever imagine that I would find anyone to love me as much as Dorian does. I would never have imagined that a wolfless girl like myself would find a strong, caring, and sweet alpha like Dorian.
Who would have thought that I'd still be getting marked after all?
I'm sure that Dorian's mark on me will keep Derek away. I will be able to prove to him that I do not care about him or whatever he does, I am over him.
He thinks I'm still hoping to be with him. Well, he can go to hell. Who cares about a prideful, cruel, and egoistic man like him when I have a sweet, caring, and humble man like Dorian?
"Do it, Dorian. I want to bear your mark."
My voice was strong with determination. I know without a doubt that I want to be with Dorian.
I closed my eyes as I felt a light sting on my neck.
I have read in some books that placing the mark gives both pain and pleasure. I waited to experience that pain and pleasure, but nothing happened.
Did Dorian change his mind?
Did Dorian finally realize that I wasn't good for him?
Did he finally see that I am unfit to be his Luna?
I opened my eyes slowly, my heart filled with fear as insecurities crept in. However, instead of the heartbreak I expected, I was met with surprise.
The sight before me left me stunned as well as pissed.
Derek had Dorian by the neck and pinned down, while Dorian's teeth were deep in Derek's arm.
I jumped and stood up immediately.
"Derek?" I repeated as if to be sure that it was indeed the king.
I mean what was he doing out here in the garden far away from his chamber at this hour?
Derek's gaze travelled from my head down to my toes, checking out my dishevelled state.
He growled and dug his paws into Dorian's ribs.
"Cover yourself, Mel," Dorian's voice was calm and fearless as if he wasn't being held by the neck.
Thanks to Dorian, I was reminded that I was half-naked.
Oh my!
I am standing half-naked in front of Derek. What could be more embarrassing than this?
"Go inside." Derek's voice was commanding. His eyes blazed and his killing intent was obvious, but what I couldn't think of was the reason why he was so angry.
"Didn't you hear me?"
I looked around in search of who he was talking to, but there was no one there except me.
Is he asking me to leave?
"F*ck it, Melody! I said to go inside!"
