Pregnant and Rejected: His Wolfless Mate

Chapter 63

Ch. 63 / 111 Apr 02, 2026

Derek

What the hell!

Was that a glow I see in Melody’s eyes?

How did she do that? Is this one of her witchcraft powers?

Only werewolves have such glow in their eyes. How does she have one?

“You’re challenging me?” Viscount scoffed. “Don’t you think so highly of yourself?” he laughed. “Just because you’ve got a measly power. You think you’re a match for me?”

“I don’t think I am. I know I am the perfect match for you.”

Melody’s boldness left me floored.

Did she just say to the viscount’s face that she is the perfect match for him?Q

No. Hell no, she didn’t.

What was she thinking?

Even the strong wolves in Mallory wouldn’t dare to challenge the Viscount, but my naive little mate just did.

And what I find fascinating is the glistening of her eyes. She was fearless and even though I could feel a little of her emotion, she managed to keep her rage hidden.

“Since you so badly want to die, I see no reason why I shouldn’t fulfil your wish,” The Viscount shrugged. “Besides, I’ve always wanted to send you back to the stinking hell you came from and what better way to do that if not now?”

I have never had this evil side of the viscount and now that I have, I can’t help but shiver from inside.

I have never seen a father so eager to kill his child before. Not even when the child is horrible.

“I won’t attack you, But if you come at me, I won’t back down,” Melody sent him a warning.

However, the amount of confidence she exudes made me temporarily believe that she’s got witchcraft.

I didn’t realize when my parents left until I looked in their direction and found them missing from where they stood before.

They probably got pissed by the viscount’s actions. First he attacked little kids in a fit of rage just because he wanted to capture their mother all in the name of duty when in reality, it was his hatred for Melody.

Like, who in their right minds would want to watch a father kill his child?

As much as father would have told the viscount off on his actions, he probably couldn’t do it because the viscount is his childhood best friend. Besides, it’s their family matter and should be settled in the walls of their homes.

Had the viscount not chosen to use my fall as a reason to unleash his hatred for Melody, then It probably wouldn’t have come to this.

However, it might be easy for my father to walk away, I can’t. because the woman in question is my mate and the kids are my valued pups. How can I let them come to any harm and I will only let the viscount get away with hurting my son this one time.

If this happens again, I will make him pay for sure.

Melody stood akimbo, patiently waiting for her father’s attack, but it never came.

I almost gave up, thinking the Viscount wouldn’t hurt his daughter when I heard him speak again.

“You’re going to die anyway for practicing witchcraft, I shouldn’t dirty my hand,” The Viscount smirked.

He definitely has a trick up his sleeves.

But I would really like to know why he loathes Melody so much.

Viscount left the room and Melody also left with Dorian and the pups. Every attempt I made at stopping her proved abortive. She didn’t listen to me. She held Aaron who was now fully healed while Dorian held Giovanni.

I watched them and I couldn’t say a word. Everything that happened earlier was unexpected, but still, it all happened because of me.

If I hadn’t gone to Melody’s room, then all these could probably have been avoided.

Crestfallen, I went back to my chamber to get some rest, but couldn’t. So, I went to my study to bury myself with work.

I’m sure that hatred for me in Melody’s heart must have grown a tad bigger. And my pups, I’m sure they loathe me now.

“You will do no such thing!” I heard my father yell.

What is happening?

I followed the voice and found him in the outer-house. With him was the viscount and father seemed angry. He is probably reprimanding him for his actions earlier.

“She can’t go?” I heard my father say.

I didn’t understand what they were saying but I knew that they were discussing Melody.

“She broke the law and…..”

“You have no choice but to let her stay.” Father ordered. “Remember she is the mother of my grand kids,” father said no more and the viscount bowed before leaving.

It’s the first time I’ve seen them disagree.

Vexed for being reprimanded by his best friend and insulted by his daughter, the viscount marched back to his room. I followed him to see what he was up to and I wasn’t surprised to see him head for Dorian’s room since that’s where Melody is at the moment.

“We’ll, be leaving tomorrow,” Melody spoke before Maximus could say why he was there. ”You don’t have to worry. We’ll be out of your face by morning.”

“That’s why I’m here,” Maximus voice was void of emotion. “You can’t leave.”

Melody’s scoffed. “Why not?”

Dorian was quiet. I didn’t hear him talk.

“You have two options,” he began. “Stay back here and be the king’s wife and mother to your pups or attempt to leave and spend the rest of your days in the dungeon.”

Melody laughed sinisterly. “Sorry to disappoint you, father, but no amount of threat can stop our departure.”

Wrong move. I muttered as I listened to Melody’s responses.

The Viscount was extending a hand of peace. I wonder why she won’t just take it.

I don’t know why the viscount has decided to have a change of heart. He wasn’t spewing venom or hurling insults. He was ready to compromise and I couldn’t help but wonder why he’s got a sudden change of heart.

Was it because of our agreement? Or was it because of my father?

Maximus cleared his throat and whispered, “Don’t test me Melody, or the result will be disastrous.”
