Dorian, I repeated scanning the man from head to toe. I felt anger rush through me as I saw them holding hands.
"Your majesty," he muttered, bowing slightly. Immediately returned his gaze to Melody as if he was afraid that she might disappear.
There was something about the way he looked at her. He was definitely in love with her. This silly alpha is in love with my mate.
"I see," I replied, still looking intently at their hands. "So, you are Dorian?"
I kept my feet moving until I was closer to them, giving me a closer look at the man's face. Indeed, he has nice features. He was handsome.
"I've heard a lot about you," I clenched my fist as my eyes again darted to his hand. Dorian now had his hand on Melody's waist.
"I hope they are all good things?" He smiled.
Good things?
All he has done in the past few minutes since his arrival was piss me off and he's asking if I've heard good things about him.
No. I haven't heard but seen him do bad things. And he chose to mess with my...
Wait. I shouldn't be so worked up.
I rejected Melody and she moved on. It's only natural that she did, but why does it hurt so much?
Is it because I have just discovered that I have kids with her? Or is it because I have feelings for her?
No. It can only be the former. I can't be in love with Melody.
It's a good thing that she has moved on and Dorian seems to be a good person and he loves her too. That is all that matters. Now I can live happily with Miranda.
"Dorian, let's go and meet Uncle Malcolm!" Aaron called out happily, pulling the man towards the throne room.
"Yes, come on in." I moved ahead of them so that I wouldn't have to see Dorian's hand roaming Melody's body.
I don't know what Jay might do.
"There's a celebration going on?" He asked as we got closer to the banquet hall.
"Yes, Uncle Malcolm and Uncle Malfoy killed the bad man and his Army!" Aaron relayed.
"Rouges. It's the rogue king and his army," Giovanni corrected.
He seemed to be the wisest of the two kids. However, his frosty demeanour is a force to be reckoned with. Also, he doesn't seem to like me.
I wonder why he seems to dislike me so much.
"A war happened here?" He asked again.
"Yes, but...."
"Is everyone okay? I mean your family and the others."
If he cared so much, why wasn't he here to join the war?
"Everyone is fine, that's why there's a celebration going on."
We arrived inside the banquet hall and everything suddenly went quiet. Everyone stared at us as we arrived and murmurs were heard from all around the hall.
One look from me, and everything resumed to how it was. The music played and everyone continued with the party.
"Melody, where did you go?" Malfoy immediately met Melody, taking her from Dorian.
I heard him growl as she left his arms. He stared at Malfoy as if he would attack him for taking his treasure.
"Dorian, this is my younger brother, Malfoy." Melody introduced him and Malfoy shook the man's hand immediately.
"Wow Dorian, it's so nice to finally meet you." Malfoy sounded happy to be meeting him.
"I'm happy to finally see you too, Malfoy. Melody's told me a lot about you." Dorian gave Malfoy a side hug as they shook hands again.
I was supposed to return to my seat. As king, I was supposed to be on the throne watching my people celebrate our victory. But here I am standing among the crowd like a lost chick in search of her mother.
I watched helplessly as Melody chatted away with Dorian and Malfoy at one corner of the hall. The kids would often chime into the conversation every now and then.
I didn't hear all they were saying, but I could tell that they were talking about their time together. Sofia and Malcolm soon joined the group.
I tried to go a little closer and managed to get a seat a few feet away from them. I sat with my back turned to them so that they wouldn't notice me.
Malcolm was also happy to meet Dorian. He wouldn't stop toasting them. I wonder what's so special about the man who has made all of them like him so much in such a short time. Even Sofia was buttering up to him.
I can't believe that she is my sister. How could she be sitting in the enemy's camp?
They chatted away and I had to hide amongst the crowd to listen to what they were saying.
I sat there for heaven knows how long before I finally gathered myself and left the place. It's a good thing that I was still good at disguise. Otherwise, everyone in the hall would be standing before me with a long list of questions.
Even my parents would want to know why I left my throne to go sit amongst the crowd. What would I say to them then?
I just can't believe that I'm doing all this.
"Who is that with Melody?" My mother asked as soon as I sat back down.
I wonder why she chose to ask me about Melody. Does she know something?
"Who?" I pretended.
"That man."
I followed Mother's gaze to the dance floor and Melody was there dancing with Dorian.
What the hell!
I have only just left there and they are already dancing?
"I don't know," I replied, trying not to give myself out.
"They look good together, don't you think?" I clenched my fist, totally forgetting that I had a glass in my hand.
The glass shattered, sending the contents of the glass splattering on me.
"Are you alright?" Mother asked as the maids immediately started cleaning the stain on my robe.
I didn't realize that I hadn't answered her question until my mother took my clenched fist and squeezed it.
"Is something going on between you and Melody?"
