Damn!
Melody threw me out. Like hell she did.
She sent me flying out of the room without touching me. How in hell’s name was she able to do that?
No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get the sight out of my head. I was insulted in front of everyone. Even the guards. However, I couldn’t stay mad at her.
As much as I would love to yell and scream at her or worse have her hanged for daring to do that to me, I just couldn’t. I couldn’t do it because she’s Melody. The woman I’ve loved all my life. The mother of my pups. My mate.
But, still the scenario kept repeating itself in my head.
I mean how? Just how was she able to do that?
As if to answer my question, she did it again. She attacked the viscount.
Even though the viscount deserved what was sent his way. He earned it for always insulting and ridiculing Melody at every chance he gets.
Sometimes I wonder if he is really her father.
However, it went overboard when she stuck a rag in his mouth.
Was that necessary?
I mean, even though the viscount over steps and insults her, she shouldn’t have done that to him. He is her father after all.
Which confirms my doubt about this new Melody.
The Melody I know won’t hurt anyone no matter what they did to her, but this one is savage. She doesn't give a damn.
She doesn't even care if it’s her father. I used to think that her savage version was meant only for me, but after seeing her deal with her father, I’m certain that I’m not the only one she hates.
Still, I can't sit back and watch her get punished.
I can't let her get stoned to death.
Even though I’m as surprised as everyone else over her newly found powers, I can't let her suffer. I love her too much to let her get punished.
The Viscount wants Melody punished according to the law of Mallory that prohibits witchcraft. I expected her to fall to her knees and beg for her life like any wise person would, but she stunned me yet again by denouncing her father.
“I am no daughter of Maximus Wayne!” she yelled loud enough for even a dead man to hear.
The shock on the viscount’s face was visible. He stared at Melody like he didn’t recognize her anymore.
“That’s the best decision you’ve ever made.” Viscount Maximus sneered.
“Melody dear, do not say that,” The viscountess went to Melody.
“it’s okay mother,” Melody smiled. "We can all breathe now.”
She smiled as she spoke as if she just made the best decision of her life.
“But…..” The viscountess was about to speak further but Melody hugged her. “I’ll be fine, mother. This is for the best.”
“What are you all waiting for?” Viscount Maximus screamed. “Get that witch!”
Seeing how anxious the Viscount is to catch his daughter got me wondering if he has always been this cold and why I didn’t notice it before.
“I won’t let you hurt my momma,” My iceberg jumped straight in front of his mother. He was immediately joined by his brother who stood on the other side of Melody.
Those two never cease to amaze me at how much they are willing to give just to protect their loved ones.
I fall in love with Melody over and over every time I see how she raised our pups.
They are always willing to lay down their lives for her.
“Father, you can't possibly have Melody subjected to such cruelty,” Malfoy spoke in his sister’s defence. “You made that mistake once before and now we all see that it wasn’t her fault.”
Malfoy glared at me as he spoke. It's obvious that he hates me.
“I do not have a witch for a child!” the viscount yelled.
“And I definitely do not have a devil for a father!” Melody spoke back.
Now that’s huge.
Melody just called her father a devil.
Like, is this really Melody?
Though, I’ve noticed the difference between the former stuttering Melody to the confident one who arrived at the pack weeks ago. But now she’s bold and that’s very much unlike her.
“Malfoy is right, father. You cannot subject Melody to a cruel judgement without listening to her.”
“There will be no debate about this!”
Since no one was ready to carry out the order, Maximus decided to do the deed on his own. He launched an attack, but Aaron got hit instead.
The boy let out a loud cry as the sharp paw scratched his face. However, this didn’t stop him from fighting back. Giovanni rushed to his brother’s defense and my little iceberg didn’t fail as he was able to dodge the Viscoun’t attacks.
Even though Viscount was too strong an opponent for him. He still put up a strong fight.
Viscount Maximus was blinded with rage. He didn’t care if they were just kids. He attacked them like they were his enemy.
He threw a punch at Giovanni and managed to catch him off guard as the boy was checking out his wounded brother.
Giovanni growled and left his mother’s side, heading straight to attack the viscount.
He is stubborn just like I am.
The Viscount kicked the boy and earned an angry growl from my parents and me. However, my strong icicle dodged the kick and threw one of his own which sent the Viscount moving backward.
“Stop it, Maximus!” father warned.
I mean this has gone too far. How can he dare to attack these bunch of kids? And they aren’t just any kids. They are my kids. The future rulers of the kingdom.
Aaron was wounded. He was bleeding and it doesn’t look good.
Dorian growled and dashed forward to attack the viscount. He was brutal with his attack. He went to the viscount with the intent to kill. Viscount has gone blind with rage. He fought like he was on the battle ground.
Some strange men appeared from nowhere and joined the fight to stop the Viscount’s guards from hurting Melody and the pups. Her brothers were also on high alert while Sophia joined Melody.
“Stop!” melody screamed, garnering everyone’s attention.
She looked fierce and fearless as she moved away from the kids and Dorian and headed toward her father.
“You have a problem with me, right?” She scoffed and looked back at Aaron. “Why don’t you take it out on me.”
“Melody don’t!” Malfoy tried to stop her from challenging her father, but the look on Melody was cold and determined.
I’ve never seen her look so furious before.
Dorian was about to speak too, but she sent a smile his way and he paused. They both seem to be having telepathic communication and next I saw…..
Wait. What the hell!
