Pregnant and Rejected: His Wolfless Mate

Chapter 61

Ch. 61 / 111 Apr 02, 2026

Melody

"It's Melody!"

I gasped in shock as I saw my father hanging in the corner in such a state.

As much as I hate the man, he is still my father. I just cannot bear to insult or hurt him.

"Melody?" Queen Rosanne exclaimed and everyone looked at me.

I didn't want them to find out this way.

Malcolm helped our father get off the wall. After all, he is still our father no matter how much we disagree.

"Are you okay, Father?" They asked in unison.

Malfoy took out the satin from his mouth. It looked like it was a rag.

Father frowned deeply and sent a glare my way.

"Do you practice witchcraft?" He asked in a not-so-low voice.

I didn't reply and kept my gaze fixed on my pups who were staring at me.

I couldn't fathom what the look on their faces. Was it a look of admiration or was it fear?

I don't want my pups to fear me.

They mean everything to me.

"Grab her!" Father screamed for the guards.

My eyes widened in shock as he gave the order. My father wants me arrested.

Does that even make sense?

"Don't!" Derek screamed.

The guards halted. They looked from one to the other wondering whose order to carry out.

"Grab her!" Father has his soldiers to deploy so he gave the order to them instead.

"Father!" Malcolm screamed, but my father was enraged.

He couldn't tolerate the insult.

Father's honour has always been his priority and I just insulted him by throwing him off like that.

"Stay out of this!" His tone was harsh and full of authority.

Malcolm cowered and bowed in submission. He couldn't go against his Alpha.

"Don't touch her," Dorian activated his defence mode. He moved me behind him and send a message through telepathy.

'Stay calm.'

His voice in my head gave me peace and tranquillity.

I couldn't help but smile amidst all the troubles.

"Get out of the way!" Father screamed and signalled his guards to attack Dorian.

I had temporarily forgotten the presence of my guardian angels until they stepped forward and moved to fend off the coming guards.

"You're not about to hurt our daughter and grandkids, right Maximus?" My mother sounded broken.

Her eyes were laced with tears and full of regrets. She was probably blaming herself for calling me back here.

"I will not let this slide!"

Father was blinded by rage.

He was out for blood and it's none other than mine. He didn't care if he was acting up while the king and his family were present and they also didn't speak up.

I guess they also want to find out how I did that. Miranda had a happy smile dancing on her face.

She's always wanted to see me fall and right now, her wish is about to be fulfilled.

"Give her to me and walk out alive," Father offered Dorian one more chance to walk away.

"Give her away?" Dorian scoffed. "No way!"

Dorian was pissed. He was scowling as he spoke. I could feel the heat of his rage.

Oh, goddess. This doesn't look good.

"Halt!" King Arthur finally spoke.

Father wasn't happy to have been interrupted by King Arthur, but he had no choice but to comply. Father turned and bowed slightly.

"Pardon me, your highness."

"Why don't you let her speak instead of going for her," the king gave me a chance to explain myself, but I really do have nothing to say.

No one could believe that I could throw a man as huge as my father straight at the wall and have him pinned there with a rag stuck at his throat.

If they didn't witness Derek's fall, they all saw my father's clearly. There's no denying it this time because I am the common factor between those attacks.

How do I explain that these two men are the villains in my life? They've made my life hell that just throwing isn't enough payback for their sins.

"Melody, did you do that?" King Arthur asked.

All eyes turned to me. They all wanted to know if it was true. Even Malfoy stared at me with disbelief.

'Speak up!' Joanne yelled in my head. 'Own up to your deeds. No one can hurt you now.'

Such a daring wolf I've got.

Chin raised. Shoulders balanced and head held high, I curtsied to the former King.

"Did you really do that?" he repeated.

I smiled and nodded positively. I was filled with some strange energy and power. I felt refined.

"Yes Majesty," I concurred.

"What?"

Murmurs spread across the room.

"How?" He asked.

"The goddess' blessing," I shrugged.

"Lies!" Father roared. "It's witchcraft!"

Now my father thinks I'm a witch.

Formerly, he'd say that I'm useless and Wolfless and now that I have powers it's witchcraft. What exactly does he want?

"According to the rules of Mallory kingdom, witchcraft is forbidden and prohibited. Whoever practises witchcraft will be subjected to death by stone or spend their entire life in the dungeon."

Father took his time to read out the kingdom's rule.

I just can't believe that he wants me stoned to death. Is he really my father?

I have never met a cruel father like mine. Since he is so determined to have me killed, I'd like to see him try.

From this moment, every bond I share with Maximus is automatically broken.

'That's like a good girl,' Joanne commended. 'Now, show them what you've got.'

Such a narcissist.

I rolled my eyes at Joanne's dramatic lines.

"Your father is right, Melody," the king sighed. "You leave me no choice but to have you captured and investigated."

"Father?"

Hearing King Arthur call Maximum my father got me pissed to the bones.

Is he my father or my foe?

At the thought of all he's done, my body trembled and my eyes went dark. I could see everything in a strange colour and a strange force coursed through me as I screamed my disclaims.

"I am no daughter of Maximus Wayne!"
