"Stay away from my momma!"
I looked down to see the two human barriers standing before me.
"Melody, please listen to me."
"Stay away!" Giovanni stormed forward.
"You can't attack him, Gio. Honey, he's your father."
My mother stepped forward to hold him.
"He is not my father!" He roared. "I don't want him!"
"Don't say that, Honey. He's your father regardless of whatever he must have done in the past." Mother rubbed his hair to calm him down.
"I do not want a father like him!" He shouted, his claws long and his blue eyes twinkling like a diamond.
His fury sent a cold wave through the air. It makes me feel cold.
I can't believe that he wields such power.
However, the matter at hand needs to be settled before I can figure out more about my pups and how special they are.
"Melody, I didn't mean to do that." I went further to explain but she wasn't listening.
"Do not say her name!" Gio screamed, his voice sending thundering waves through the room.
"Do not speak to her!" Aaron also yelled. His eyes blazing wildly.
They were willing to fight me off just to keep me away from Melody.
I do know that I've wronged Melody, willfully and unintentionally. However, seeing my pups standing up against me broke my heart so much that I could barely stand. My feet lost their balance, but Donovan was right there to hold me still without calling attention to us.
"Please take me away, Dorian. I want to leave."
Melody finally spoke. Her voice shook and her whole body trembled. She looked like she had lost her vitality and spirit. Her face had turned pale and white from shock.
I do not blame her for being so surprised. Fate has indeed played a cruel game on us.
I mean why did it have to be her?
Why did I get drugged that night?
Why did Melody have to be the lady from that night?
Why?
I treated her poorly for most of our life and she ended up being the one I crave all the time.
She ended up being the mother of my pups.
"I don't want to be here, Dorian, please take me away," She cried, grabbing tightly to Dorian's clothes like she would melt in him.
"No Melody, you can't leave."
I rushed forward to grab her, but Malfoy also jumped in to stop me. "Give her a break, please." He raised both his hands in the air to stop me from going further.
Though he sounded polite, I knew he was far from it. He would attack and hurt me if he could.
I'm aware of how protective the Wayne brothers are of their sister and I know how much they care for her. So, I understand how difficult this must be for them. Especially when they have taken a vow to protect the one person they spent years searching for.
"Break?" I scoffed. "How can I give her a break when she's planning on leaving?"
My feet were trembling. It was the first time I would experience cold feet ever.
Melody has become so precious to me that I do not want to lose her ever.
"How does it matter to you if she leaves or not?" Sophia barked.
My sister was mad at me. So mad that she couldn't hide her fury.
"You rejected her?" That sounded like a question.
As if to reply to her question, she dashed towards me and screamed, "How dare you reject her?!"
Sophia didn't give a damn if I was King or not. All she saw at the moment was a foolish and selfish king.
"You rejected her and raped her!" She spat.
"No." I tried to explain. "I didn't know it was her. I didn't see the lady's face."
"Because you were too busy cooling off your fucking hormones!" Sophia was fuming so much that I knew that if she had a gun right now, she wouldn't hesitate to blow my nonexistent brains off.
"I would never do that to Melody." I raised my voice so everyone could hear. "Had I known it was her, I wouldn't have done it. I wouldn't have done it with anyone at all if I could help it."
I have always known that Sophia cares more about Melody than anyone else in the world.
"But you did." She hissed. "You rejected Melody and chose Miranda! You fucking chose Miranda after breaking my Melody!"
Sophia had tears streaming down her face as she spoke.
"Why did you do that?" She slapped my chest. "Why did you ruin her so much? What did she ever do to you?!"
Sophia was so emotional. She couldn't hold back her tears and I couldn't stop myself from imagining all the terrible things that Melody had to go through after what happened that night.
"She was banished because you raped her! She had to live away from her loved ones just because of you!"
"Calm down, Sophia," Malcolm whispered to her ear as he brought her to his arms.
"Don't ask me to calm down, Mal. Hit him instead!" She pushed Malcolm towards me. "Hit the animal who made your sister suffer! Hit him."
"Calm down," Malcolm spoke softly to Sophia. His fist was so tightly clenched that they were turning white from lack of blood.
"Derek, did you really do all these?" Father asked as if he wasn't present when the entire scene unfolded.
"Father, I ... "
"You have disappointed me," he hissed. "You have disappointed the entire kingdom."
I shook my head and sighed. This was never what I wanted. I never want to disappoint my father.
"I want to rectify my mistake, father. I want to right my wrongs to Melody."
Sophia jumped out of Malcolm's arms and came straight at me.
"Right, your wrong you say? How do you intend to do that?" She pointed at the twins and hissed. "Can you undo them? Can you return Melody's innocence?"
"I cannot undo the kids, but I can take responsibility for them," I replied.
"And how do you plan to do that?" Sophia crossed her arms across her chest and waited for my response as if she already knew what I was about to say.
"I want to marry Melody."
