Melody
'What the hell.'
Dorian muttered in amazement.
I opened my eyes to look, wondering what he saw to sound so amazed, but I was stunned by what I saw.
I looked around for my figure. I was lost.
I couldn't find myself anymore. In my place was a tall big white wolf.
I gasped as I saw the figure.
Is this me?
I tried to speak, but it came out as a whimper.
'You aren't human now, Mel,' I heard Dorian's voice in my head. 'When you're in this form, you communicate telepathically.'
'I can communicate telepathically now?'
'Of course,' Dorian replied in my head. 'Look inside you, Mel. You'll find all the answers you need.'
I closed my eyes and search for answers just like Dorian said, breathing the air and listening to the strange sound coming from inside me.
What is going on inside me? I asked no one in particular.
'I'm finally free. I should announce my presence.'
That's odd.
Why is there a feminine voice when it's just me and Dorian here?
I didn't speak and Dorian didn't look like he did too.
So, who is this person?
'That will be me,' the voice spoke again, replying to my every question.
Who are you? I asked aloud.
'I'm Joanne. Your wolf.'
I have a wolf now? I asked the obvious.
I mean, I still can't wrap my head around the fact that I have a wolf standing in my place. Now, there's a voice in my head claiming that she's my wolf. Like I really own a wolf now.
I'm one of those shifters.
I can shapeshift now just like my brothers.
I have a wolf now! I exclaimed.
'Yes, you do. And I will be your companion forever.' Joanne spoke again.
Oh my. This feels so good.
I don't only have a wolf. I have a companion. A friend who is willing to be with me forever.
'It's nice to meet you, Joanne.' I replied telepathically.
'The pleasure is all mine, Melody.'
Wow. She knows my name.
'I'm a part of you, Mel. I know everything about you.'
'Oh.' I muttered, but before I could speak further. I heard Dorian's voice.
"Wow!" He exclaimed as he ran his hand through my body. "You're beautiful!"
Even though Dorian always sings to me every time about how beautiful I look, this sounded exaggerated.
The look on his face was like he was seeing something extraordinary.
'What's wrong?' I asked.
Dorian didn't respond but went on touching my body. He circled me and kept singing words of praise on every part he touched.
"I've always known that you were special, but this is outstanding."
Dorian won't stop. He seemed to have found something amazing in this white wolf in my place.
Did he just say special?
Special and I do not work together.
'Special? Really?' I repeated unbelievably.
'You are special, Mel,' Joanne was quick to speak again. 'And I'm going to help you and everyone else see that.'
I was touched by her words. It feels so nice to have someone else speak nicely to me apart from Dorian.
'Thank you, Joanne.' I managed to say.
'Always.' she giggled.
"Your wolf is just as beautiful as you." Dorian's comment got me giggling even as a wolf.
He placed his head on my body and hugged me.
'Mate.' Joanne cried.
I gasped in surprise. So Dorian is indeed my mate.
He rubbed his face against my fur and made me feel ticklish.
'I love you, Mel,' He kissed my body.
Even though I haven't deciphered what my feelings are for Dorian. I know for sure that I feel attached to him and want him as a part of my life.
'I want to meet him.'
Joanne muttered in my head. I knew she was talking about Dorian's wolf.
'Why don't you shift?' I suggested and Dorian's eyes lit up and he nodded enthusiastically.
"I've always wanted to run with you in my wolf form." he immediately took off his clothes and dumped them under the tree.
He was happy to be shifting. He didn't care that he was stripping before me.
Within the twinkle of an eye, Dorian was gone and in his place was a big grey wolf. Tall and huge with dazzling furs.
'Wow!' Joanne exclaimed and I couldn't help but agree.
I've seen Dorian's wolf before but right now he looked so different and cute. However, I don't understand if this was from my point of view or Joanne's.
Something was different about how I saw Dorian now.
'Mate,' both wolves cried and rubbed heads against each other.
I felt happy like I've never felt before.
'Let's celebrate.' Dorian took the lead and ran forward, leaving me to run after him.
The moon shone brightly from up above. It was a full moon. I raised my head and noticed a river up ahead.
Without waiting for Dorian, I went straight to the river to see the beautiful wolf that Dorian was describing. I wanted to see myself as a wolf.
I looked in the river to see my image reflect from the river, with the moonlight shining brightly up above. I saw the most beautiful creature reflecting in the river.
Standing as me is a huge snowy white wolf with a crown-like object sitting right at the front.
'Is that a real crown?' I asked and Dorian seemed to have noticed what I was talking about.
He stepped backwards and took a good look at me, but I couldn't understand what the look on his face meant.
I find it awkward and somewhat unbelievable. Like do I have a tiara sitting on my head in my Wolfie self for real? Dorian's gaze on me was serious and obvious as he stepped closer to me.
He raised his paw to touch me and I involuntarily brought down my head so his hand could touch me.
I was about to ask what was wrong, but Dorian's excited voice rang in my ears as he screamed, 'Wow Mel, you have a crown!'
