Dorian!
I watched as they ran towards the gate to meet the man. They were extremely happy. What surprised me was how they were able to tell that it was him.
I guess they can smell him. Or maybe they were so close that they could recognize him anywhere.
"Dorian?" Melody also turned.
Her lips became round as she gasped, leaving her mouth open as she stared at the gate.
Her eyes were immediately laced with tears as she saw the man. She placed her hand on her chest and covered her mouth with the other.
"Are you okay?" I asked, but she didn't seem to be listening. She was slowly moving towards the gate.
I followed her, much to my surprise.
I mean, I should leave, right?
I wouldn't want to witness their reunion, would I?
However, I couldn't stop my feet from moving. I followed Melody.
"Dorian," She kept repeating the name.
'Mate,' Jay called out in my head. He was enraged and wanted to jump out.
I've always known that Jay was possessive of Melody, I just didn't expect him to be so angry upon seeing her reaction to another man.
"Dorian!!" Both kids screamed excitedly.
"Let him in," I called out to the guards.
I wanted to see who this Dorian is and why Melody is so into him. What does he have that made her so enthralled by him?
"Wow Dorian, you're here!" Aaron jumped into the man's open arms. Even the frosty kid, Giovanni, was smiling upon seeing Dorian.
They both went into his arms and he scooped them up with a smile. He kissed their heads and they giggled.
"I had to come, I missed you." He replied, his eyes fixed on Melody as he set the kids down.
I stood rooted to the spot and watched as she moved towards him slowly.
"Mel," he whispered, and she ran into his arms.
"Dorian," She called happily.
He lifted her up into the air and twirled her around. She giggled and tears ran down her cheek. I wonder how she could cry and giggle at the same time.
I never got to see this side of her.
"I missed you so much, Mel," he said, and before she could say something in response, he kissed her.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and responded to his kiss.
"I almost went insane without you." He placed his forehead against hers and stared at her lips. "You're injured...."
He was about to ask about the scratch on her face, but Melody kissed him.
How could they kiss each other in the presence of the kids? Was she so horny that she couldn't wait to jump on him?
I clenched my fist until I could smell and feel blood drop from me. The nerve of Melody to kiss that man while I was standing there!
"I missed you so much, Dorian. So, so much." Melody replied with tears.
"Don't cry now, I'm here." He rubbed her back and she placed her head on his chest.
"How...How come you're here?"
She seemed to just realize that he was really standing there.
"I told you I'd come steal you away, didn't I?" He hugged her again, this time squeezing her body into his arms. "I missed you too much, my love."
"I missed you too," She wrapped her arms around his back.
I was getting irritated with the reunion going on before me. I mean, what the hell?
"Dorian, I want a hug too." Aaron jumped and opened his arms, asking to be hugged.
Dorian stepped away and took the kids into a hug. He distributed a head kiss to all three of them.
"We were planning to go home tomorrow," Giovanni announced.
"Really, honey?" He looked at Melody.
"Yes, we were planning on leaving here tomorrow," She replied.
"No problem, we'll still leave tomorrow." He got closer to Melody's ear. I didn't hear what he said, but she smiled. "Let me meet your family today, alright?"
"Sure," She intertwined their hands and he kissed them.
They moved to go back inside the palace, but Giovanni refused to go back in.
"What's wrong?" Dorian squatted. "Why have you stopped?"
"I don't want to go back there." He shook his head in refusal.
"Why not?" Dorian asked, looking from one to the other.
"No one loves Momma over here." He hissed. "And that princess hurt her."
"What? You're hurt?" Dorian took Melody's hand and checked her body. He noticed the bruises and he clenched his fist. "Who did this to you?"
"It's alright, Dorian, I'm fine." She took his clenched fist and kissed it.
"But...."
"Don't worry Dorian, we already showed her never to hurt momma," Aaron stated proudly.
"Did you....."
"Yes, Giovanni did." Aaron replied.
"Good, Gio," he patted the boy's head. "I knew you both could take care of her."
"That's okay, guys," Melody clapped. "Let's just go inside to meet mother."
Melody's voice snapped me out of my thoughts, making me realize that I had been a spectacle to the reunion happening here.
I watched as Dorian followed them inside. The man has got quite a physique. He was tall and handsome, with long hair. He was well built and strong.
It's no wonder Melody has fallen hopelessly in love with him.
My head and heart ached seeing them all together. That should have been my place. They are my family. I should be the one they love and respect so much.
Melody was my mate. She still is. Why should she be with this Dorian when I'm still alive?
"Melody," I couldn't stop myself from calling out.
I wanted to make my presence known. I mean, did I just blend with the background? How did I suddenly become invisible to them? Did they forget that I was standing there? Or did she choose to ignore me so she could fall into her alpha's arms? Or she probably wanted to show me how much in love she was with her fiance.
"Your majesty?" She turned around, looking surprised. I think she totally forgot that I was there.
"Who do we have here?" I pretended not to know who the man with her was, making sure to settle my gaze on their intertwined hands.
"Your majesty, this is Dorian, Alpha of Dark Flame pack and....."
Before she could complete the introduction, Giovanni took it from her, making it obvious that he wanted to spite me. He locked our gazes as he said,
"Momma's fiance."
