Pregnant and Rejected: His Wolfless Mate

Chapter 48

Ch. 48 / 111 Apr 02, 2026

Derek

No. I can't let Melody leave.

I won't let her leave.

She belongs only to me. She bears my mark. She should only stay by my side. I will not let her be taken away from me.

I tried to stop Dorian from taking her away as she requested, but I was attacked by my kids.

I can't believe that my sons will attack me just to keep me away from their mother. I knew that they would go to any length to keep her safe, but I never imagined that they'd go as far as attacking me.

I thought they would honour me as the king, but I was mistaken. The love they have for their mother overrides every other feeling in their heart. They put Melody first before anything else.

Even after they discovered that I was their father, it changed nothing. In fact, it fueled their rage. Their hatred towards me heightened.

I know that I have hurt Melody in so many ways for so many years, but seeing my sons standing against me like I was their enemy, shattered my heart.

They were high on alert and their moves were skilful, direct and precise. Their speed was amazing and their strength and agility were superb.

No one would believe that they are just five years old.

I was busy defending myself through their attack, but it was becoming an impossible task as Giovanni's blows became aggressive.

He was out to get me and didn't look like he would stop unless he did.

What in the goddess' name is he doing?

How is he so strong?

I was finding it quite hard to hold my stance as he came at me in full force. I see a much more aggressive version of myself in him.

I wanted to scare him off with some moves of mine, but he gave no room for that to happen. He was attacking to kill.

Before I could realize what was happening, I felt something sharp cut through my belly. I looked down to see Gio's paws deeply plunged into me.

I moved to grab him but he was off in an instant ready to launch another attack as he screamed out words, pointing out the reason behind each attack.

It's embarrassing to say, but I was finding it hard to keep up with my five-year-old son. Gio is a force to be reckoned with. He moved like a whirlwind and he was so enraged that the colour of his eyes was totally different from what I'd come to know them to be.

They were glowing differently, and his growl was thicker this time. His attacks were fierce and his blows were deadly.

Each blow dealt to me felt like it was delivered from a dozen wolves.

How is that even possible?

I spat out blood as his hand came in contact with my face, dealing an extraordinary blow to it.

As if that wasn't enough, I noticed him send a signal to Aaron and they both came at me. Solely, Giovanni was deadly. I don't need to be told how ghastly their joint attack would be.

Donovan must have noticed my difficulty, he immediately came to my rescue, but I couldn't let him hurt my kids.

Even though it was embarrassing to have gotten whipped by a five-year-old. I felt proud of my sons.

After today's experience, I can imagine what Miranda must have gone through. If they could be such a strong opponent against me, despite my strength, then beating Miranda would have been a piece of cake.

Everyone present was too stunned to speak. I bet they are as surprised as I am to see how strong these two are.

Are they really human? I wondered.

I mean, they are so tiny, yet they deal such ferocious blows. I still cannot believe it.

I was lost in thought and didn't realize that they were coming at me, probably to deal me the final blow, but they were immediately stopped by Dorian.

It's obvious how much they respect and obey the man. I wish I could be in his place right now.

He has everything I want.

Melody was neatly tucked in his arms and my sons were both standing on his side.

What? Does he think he's done me a favour by stopping them?

What a fool!

I didn't realize how badly I'd been hurt until I tried to move to stop Dorian from leaving. The pain in my belly was so much that I could barely move.

"Stop right there!" Donovan yelled.

Trust Donovan to understand my silence. He knows my unsaid words even before I utter them.

"You cannot take Melody away while she bears the Alpha king's mark," Donovan declared.

"Really?" Dorian scoffed but didn't turn. He had his back to us all, but I could feel his anger. Even though he was doing well to keep it inside, I could still smell his fury.

"Let her go!" Donovan ordered.

No one from the Wayne family spoke. They were probably conflicted or bound by their vows to me as king.

Malcolm was distraught, but still chose to be quiet and every time Malfoy tried to act, he got stopped by the Viscount who chose to be a spectacle to all that was happening just like Miranda and her father. The viscountess was in tears and looked like she would collapse at any given time. She was as pale as paper.

"And what?" Dorian finally turned, his eyes and words, spitting venom. "I let her go and then what?"

"She gets to be with her rightful mate." Donovan shrugged mindlessly.

"Is that so?" Dorian looked at Melody as if asking if that was what she wanted.

She shook her head in refusal and Dorian resumed moving. The pups followed on either side, creating the image of a perfect family.

"You heard the lady," he said without care.

"Do not go any further, otherwise we might..."

Dorian turned abruptly and let out a low growl. "Do not threaten me otherwise...."
