Fire Wolf Series

Chapter 57

Ch. 57 / 150 Sep 27, 2024

My snappish has increased. I stared at all the faces. I went back to the academy. Most relieving thing, I was in his villa in the room he assigned me, "Why am I here?" I asked myself. I wasn't in the mood for more lies.

His Alpha-friends, Headmaster Donovan, and my family had occupied the space. Their gazes were on me. Silver and Mom were sitting close to me on the mattress but they weren't trying to touch me.

Elizabeth was holding my hand and she smiled down at me, "You need rest."

"I can't stay out of the academy for a long time. Why?" I asked.

"It happened because the portal was destroyed?" Alessandro asked Donovan.

"They aren't completely destroyed." He replied. His expression stiffened.

I squeezed Elizabeth's hand. Her sad gaze turned to me, "Your wolf is cursed, Em." She whispered.

"That's why you can't shift, can't feel her." Mom said.

"But I've felt her around Dastien." I retorted, pushing myself back.

"Because, he's your mate. He can protect you better than anyone." All heads turned to the door. I recognized the voice before looking at him.

"Mr. Morris," I smiled and pushed myself up. Elizabeth stopped me. He gestured with his hand to stay where I was.

"What happened to the portal?" I asked.

"Someone destroyed them." He replied.

"Can Dastien do it?" Edward asked.

"No one knows." Mr. Morris said and turned his face to me, "Vampire King will contact you. You won't fear him. You're our only hope." He said.

"I don't understand. Clues are written in the books. Anyone can reach them," I said.

"They're just fantasy books for people. The clues appear only for those who need them." Elizabeth said.

"It's not only werewolves who have faced attacks these days. Vampire, witches, faes, and many creatures have endured the attacks from dark creatures." Mr Wolfe said.

"Is someone trying to kill us all, replace us?" Silver asked.

"It seemed, Miss." Mr. Wolfe said.

I tugged on Elizabeth's arm, "Are Mr. Morris and Edward related?" I asked under my breath.

She nodded her head, "Mr. Morris is his uncle." She smiled at him.

Mr. Morris cleared his throat, "We'll keep finding a way to break the curse." He said to all.

"Dastien said, it's unbreakable. We can only cure it if..." Alessandro looked at me.

So, they've talked about it before with him.

"Yes, it is. We have to find a cure to suppress it until she finds a way to the Dark Realm." Mr. Morris said.

"She's safe in the academy?" Mom asked, looking at the elder shifters.

Mr. Wolfe nodded, "He can protect her. Only here." He met my gaze.

"Will it kill me? The curse?" I asked, looking at him.

"Yes," Mr. Morris said, sighing.

My body felt tired. I rested my head back against the pillow, "She needs rest," Lance said.

I wasn't scared of dying. I would die one day but I wished to spend more time with him, and wish to know him more.

Everyone nodded and began to leave the room, "We should appoint some guards on duty." I heard Charles before crossing the threshold.

I blinked my heavy eyes when mom kissed my head. She muttered something I couldn't understand. I forced a smile before nodding off.

I was feeling far better when I woke up. I pushed on my feet and walked out of the house. I took a deep breath and strode toward the portal. There was Lava. Could it be part of the Dark Realm? I had to go through it and watch myself.

I let out another breath I was holding. It hadn't changed a bit after I saw it last time but it looked worse. I could feel the heat. I wasn't sure of crossing the portal. It was looking like the mouth of death more than any portal.

My pace was slow and confused as I extended my feet toward it. I was certain my fingers would burn. I picked a small dry branch. I propelled it at the portal and waited.

It didn't return. I extended my feet. The heat increased with every single step. I should see what was on the other side of it. I advanced my hand forward.

"Are you f***** crazy?" A crude voice pulled me away.

My eyebrows climbed up in surprise. Edward was looking at me with a hard expression, stabbing me with his icy gaze.

"Leave my hand," I yanked his hand away, I stared at him, "What the heck is your problem, man?" I snapped.

He thinned his lips, "If you have a death wish, die somewhere else." He retorted.

"Why don't you leave me alone. So I can start what you stopped with your irritating presence." I snapped again.

His gaze flashed amber. I glared back. He couldn't tell me what to do or not.

"Don't compel me to force you to your room." He growled

"F*** off!" I turned to the portal again.

He clasped my arm and yanked me away from the portal. I squealed and kicked him. It landed near his foot. He glared at me, "Leave me, you beast!" I bellowed.

His clasp tightened and he yanked me away from the portal. My heart began to thud. I shrieked when a fisted hand landed on his jaw.

He dodged it easily, pulling his head back. His rare eyes glared at him. Edward left my hand and advanced at him to hit him. Alessandro and Daniel were already on their way.

Silver was behind Alessandro. Elizabeth gasped when she glanced at my wrist, her big green eyes turned gaping at her mate, Edward.

"I wanted to go through the portal. My fault." I hurried away from them. I didn't want them to think that he had hurt me.

I didn't stop running until I reached the door. I slammed the door behind me, "Burt! Burt!" Dastien wasn't around but he had promised me Burt would always help me when I wanted him.

"Queen," He bowed his head.

I hated both things, "Don't let anyone in. No one. Until it's related to King." I told him.

He bowed his head. It was a relief. What was his problem if I wanted to discover the world of the second side? Crude! How could he be her mate? She's a sweet and caring chick. He's the opposite, crude and a beast.

I stared down at my wrist. Now I understand. Why was Elizabeth looking so shocked? His grip gave me bruises.

I scrubbed up my arm but it got bright green. I frowned and left hope. My soul craved the arid. A desolation place to preserve the peace within me, I got through crude talking and his harsh behaviour toward me. This wouldn't have happened or he hadn't dared to if he weren't left alone me here. He could have asked me to go with him. I would have done anything without any questions. There's a lot of truth in the adage, I followed the one. Self-care was also important.

I thought of cooking something for myself. I changed into night clothes. The fire in the hearth was dead. I didn't use that part of the house. It reminded me of him and it hurt that made my tears unstoppable.

No one knocked on the front door and no one walked in. I rarely used my phone as I knew he wouldn't call me. I grabbed the apron.

"Emersyn," A soft and seductive voice came from behind me. I jumped and stifled a frightened cry. My body seized with fear when I stared at red eyes. I was horrified by his presence. I averted my gaze away recalling my friends' words.

He stayed at the doorstep of the kitchen. He was so handsome with an oval face, pale white skin, square jaw, red lips, and red eyes.

"Vampire," I managed to say around the sudden lump in my throat and the fear I felt. My gaze turned to him again.

He smiled and leaned against the wall, standing like he was posing for a picture. He flashed his charming smile, lifting the one side of his lips, his eyes didn't turn away from me.

"You wanted to see me, Queen." He said with his charming smile. I clenched the counter. There was a strange kind of attraction. I kept my gaze away. He could hypnotize me.

"Cold King!" I asked, squealing, "How did you get in?"

"Demon allowed me, " He smirked, only his lips moving.

I didn't notice he was tall like Dastien, "Please, have a seat. Would you like to have some tea or coffee?" I asked. They drank blood. I didn't have that in store. I gulped.

He laughed. His eyes changed colour from red to golden yellow, "Blood," He said, staring at my neck.

I took a step back. Though he was far away. My hands began to shake, "I don't have that." I stuttered.

A sharp squeal jumped from my throat when he moved toward me with impossible speed. My back hit the counter, "Why should I help you?" He asked,

I stared deep into his eyes. I looked away immediately, "What do you want?" I asked.

I saw him through the corners of my eyes. He was looking at me continuously, without blinking his eyes. His jaw twisted, "Come to my place, Blue Mountains." He said.

"It's still not clear, what do you want? I really need your help. I'm not good at conversation. I should ask someone to talk to you. They could explain danger and the attacks by the demons, dark creatures better than me." I was determined he wouldn't kill me.

"Hm," he moved a step back. I exhaled. "You can bring someone." a small smile curved his full mouth.

"Vampires attacked me once. I know what they can do." I gulped at the bad memory.

He remained quiet for a while. My heart was beating in my ears. I tried to steady my fast breathing, "I'm sorry but I can't accept your offer," I said politely, "I'm cursed." I admitted. I couldn't stay out more if I had a death wish.

"Yes, you're," he flashed a dazzling grin at me. Though, I didn't find anything amusing in my curse.

I felt completely vulnerable, bared to him, He had a rare kind of charm. He attracted people toward him against their wishes. No one could tear gaze away from him against his charm.
