Entangled with the Billionaire

Chapter 66

Ch. 66 / 101 Jan 12, 2026

While Colt had his bath, Mia went to the bar area in search of wine. She settled for a bottle of red wine and placed it in the ice bucket to get chilled.

Soon enough, Colton appeared in some random sweatpants and a fitted T-shirt. Mia served the food while Colton poured them some wine. They dug in and made conversations in between the delicious meal.

"I know today was a crazy day for the two of us but may I know how you feel?" Mia said.

Colton finished chewing before he spoke. "There's no better way ending today than being with the person I love most in the world." He placed his hand on top of Mia's own that was on the table.

"I'm so happy that you've moved in with me. I wasn't able to sleep last night I guess because of the vacation, I got used to you being beside me."

Mia chuckled. "Same here! I spent most of my night tossing around the bed."

"Hailey said I should thank you for the gift. She would still thank you herself though."

Colton nodded. "Since this is your home too, she's free to come by anytime she wants to."

"Yeah, thank God there's a hospital close by."

"What do you mean?" Colt arched his brow.

"Nothing serious. Hailey can be quite dramatic. I won't be surprised if she passed out by just being in your home. She never fails to ask me how I stay calm being beside you. Let's just say she hasn't fully processed the fact that Colton Royal is dating her best friend.

Colton smiled. "But she didn't freak out when she saw me."

"Not on the outside but definitely on the inside. She has been more than a friend to me. I love her so much."

Colton nodded in agreement. "I'm glad you have her in your life. I think she and Sammie will get along. You should introduce them to each other. You all can also plan a girls' day or night out. What do you think?" Colton asked.

"Sammie said something about having a girls' time the last time we saw each other. We will plan towards it and of course, I'll invite Hailey."

For the first time that evening, Mia took a sip of her wine. She took a look at the drink in the cup in a weird way. She took another sip and scrunched up her face.

"What is it?" Colton asked, upon seeing her reaction.

"The wine tastes bad," she said in distaste, putting the cup back on the table.

"You sure?" Colt arched his brow. "It tastes fine to me." He said, reaching for his glass cup to take another sip of wine even though he had taken a couple of sips before.

"There's nothing wrong with the drink, Babes," Colton said to her. The brand of red wine they were having was his favorite and one of the best brands around. Also, Colton wasn't one to store already expired or almost expired items in his home.

"That's strange. Maybe it's my taste bud." She said, digging into her grilled chicken.

"How does it taste in your mouth?" Colton asked.

"Sour, very bitter."

Colt reached for Mia's glass cup and drank from it. "There's nothing wrong with this drink, babes. It's probably your taste bud. You want me to get you another wine?"

Mia shook her head immediately. "I'll just have water, instead. I'm afraid the other wine will taste the same and I'll end up wasting it."

"You don't want a fruit wine?" He asked because the one they were drinking was alcoholic."

Mia shook her head, "I'll pass."

Colton sighed. "He rose to his feet, went into the kitchen, and came back almost immediately with a chilled glass of apple juice."

He placed it before Mia.

She chuckled, "you didn't have to. But thank you."

Colton nodded, taking his seat. He watched as Mia brought the apple juice to her lips and took a sip.

"Tastes good?"

Mia nodded, taking more sips. "I guess my immune system is not in line with alcohol tonight!"

"Does that happen to you often?" Colt couldn't help but ask.

Mia shook her head. "This is the first time. I'm shocked too but I'm sure it's nothing."

Colton didn't look convinced but he tried not to think too much about it.

The duo hardly made any conversation again until they were done with their food. They both cleared the table and Colton assisted Mia with the dishes.

"You've been quiet since you brought me that juice. What is it? You don't like the food?" Mia asked, looking into Colton's beautiful eyes. He was resting his back against the kitchen counter while she was in front of him.

"Babe, this is one of the best homemade foods I've ever had. It was really delicious." He cupped her face in his hands." I'm just worried about you!"

Mia frowned. "Why?"

"I'm afraid I've stressed you so much and the change in your taste buds is a sign that you will get sick soon."

Mia smiled. She tiptoed and placed a quick kiss on Colton's lips. "You worry too much. It's nothing I promise. I feel as good as new. If you don't know, I'm someone that hardly falls sick. I'm sure tonight's event with the wine was something random."

"If you say so! I hate hospitals and the last thing I want is for you to be there."

Mia chuckled. "I hate hospitals too. But it warms my heart to know you care deeply about me. Thank you, sweets." She wrapped her arms around his waist.

"No need to thank me. I wish you knew how much you mean to me, Mia. Because of that, I think it's normal for me to be worried about every little thing."

"I know and I'm blessed to have you in my life."

Colton leaned closer to Mia and placed a long kiss on her forehead.

"Did you by any chance get to see the guest room?" Colt asked.

Mia shook her head.

"Remember I told you that my family sent gifts to you, for your birthday."

Mia nodded. "They are in the guest room. Including the gifts from Sammie and Theo. You want to go see them?"

Mia smiled. "I honestly don't know how to feel."

Colton arched a confused brow.

"I mean, I'm not used to being showered with this much love and attention. Everything feels so surreal. It's crazy how much my life has changed. From feeling like a shitty individual to being attached to the most handsome man in the world."

Colton blushed. "I feel really uncomfortable when people address me as the most handsome man or sexiest man."

Mia laughed. "Why?"

"I don't know. Maybe because I see myself as a regular guy and that makes me feel like people are exaggerating about my looks. Sometimes, I even think Caleb is more handsome and yet he doesn't even top the list."

With a smile on Mia's face, She caressed Colton's cheek. "People aren't exaggerating, Colt. Why do you think Hailey never fails to ask me how I stay sane being around you? Your brother is good-looking but not as sexy as you are. I'm sure Caleb knows that, too."

"Do you know what Hailey calls me when she wants to tease me? 'The wife of the sexy greek god'"

"Wife?" Colton said with a smile plastered on his face.

Mia blushed. "The point is, she calls you a Greek god and I agree with her on that. My Man is perfect and I'm so proud of it."

"I also have the most beautiful woman in the world to myself. I'm beyond blessed." He hugged Mia, placing a long kiss on her forehead.
