"Mom, Dad, Mia is here to see me. I'll talk to you guys later."
Colton rose to his feet after saying goodbye to his parents. Chad opened the door for Mia and she literally ran to hug Colt. She instantly buried her face in his chest and started sobbing.
Colton hugged her tightly and placed a long kiss on her forehead.
"She told me she was going to cut off my balls if I don't bring her to you so here we are!" Chad smiled sweetly at the duo.
Colton nodded. His eyes were filled with gratitude.
"Let's go have some wine, Chad. I've got a few things to discuss with you anyways!" Caleb said as he approached Chad. They helped themselves out of Colton's office, giving the duo their privacy.
"It's okay, love. You know how much I hate seeing tears in your eyes." He said, gently patting her back.
Mia eventually looked up and Colt didn't hesitate to wipe her tears away with his thumb. "I'm sorry!" She sniffed.
"Babe, you have nothing to be sorry for." He cupped her face in his hands. "I'm the one who should be apologizing."
"But all of this is happening because of me. Because you choose me. I know Natasha is evil but I didn't think she would do something this terrible."
Colton shook his head. "None of this is your fault, Babe. I will choose you over anything and everything. Natty acted stupid with the intention of destroying us but she's the one who ended up destroying herself."
Colton softly caressed Mia's cheek. "She's going to be behind bars for good this time around so she's not going to bother us anymore."
Mia nodded. "I'm sorry about yesterday. I didn't mean to offend you." She whispered.
"Heyyyy, You did nothing wrong. I was the one who freaked out and left in anger. I'm sorry."
"I love it when you care for me, Colt. I really do. Even my exes weren't as possessive as you are. You make me feel very special and I love that I'm the most special person in your life."
"I agree that then, I didn't mind going broke for Christoph. But that situation is different from ours. Then I was stupid, desperate for love and wasting my energy and resources on some douchebag who isn't worth it."
"I know you want to spoil me with all that you have and I do appreciate it. I'm not used to this glamorous life but I promise you that I'm adjusting. Fine, I'll accept the credit card if you want me to. I just don't want us to fight anymore." She said,
"I'm sorry for everything. I should have been more understanding. The truth is, I'm not used to people saying NO to me. My exes were always in the habit of asking me for things. I provided them with everything they ever asked of me and I was starting to think I wasn't doing enough for you. I've never loved anyone the way I love you which means you deserve better and greater things. I overreacted and I'm sorry."
"Please let's not fight anymore. You stormed out without a proper goodbye, no hug, no kisses, I hardly got any sleep last night and I woke up being very cranky because I didn't hear from you."
"I know couples are bound to have some sort of arguments but please promise me that you will not walk out on me anymore. You will wait and we will discuss whatever issue we have."
Colton nodded. "I promise, my love." He cupped her face in his hands and took her lips in his. The kiss was soft and passionate.
"I missed you..."Colton mumbled in between kisses. "I didn't have a good sleep either."
"I missed you more." Mia pulled away from the kiss and softly caressed his cheek. "I don't like it when you're mad at me. I wanted to reach out to you first but my ego wouldn't let me."
Colton chuckled. "I should be more understanding and I apologize for that. I also apologize for not telling you about Christoph. I didn't mean to keep it away from you. We just never talked about him."
Mia smiled. "So you've been stalking me way before you told your parents that I was your girl and that I was pregnant with your baby?"
Colton blushed. "I was angry that you left that night without saying goodbye. And as a public figure, I just wanted to be sure that you weren't sent by one of my competitors to destroy me so I had Chad investigate you. You didn't tell me your surname but I recovered it from the restaurant booking details."
"Going over your information. I found nothing suspicious but I discovered that Christoph put you through a lot of bullshit so I wanted to deal with him. I had Chad and his guys get a hold of him so I could talk with him one on one. Turned out he doesn't regret all he put you through. Trust me, Mia, he said a lot of nasty stuff about you that you wouldn't even want to hear. Apparently, he has a history of using and extorting women. We also found other dirty things on him to charge him to court. He won't be out until after a very long time."
With her arms wrapped around his neck, Mia tiptoed and kissed her man. "That's one of the sweetest and bravest things anyone has ever done for me. You fought for me without me knowing, you give me reasons to love you more as each day goes by and the way you talked passionately about me in front of the whole world....." She sighed. "I love you so much, Colton. I have no idea what I did to deserve you."
"I'm the one who's so fucking lucky to have you in my life. I love you more, babes!" He kissed her. "I almost mentioned your name."
Mia laughed. "I know."
"I had no idea if you were ready for me to introduce you to the world as my woman. Are you?"
Mia blushed, not knowing if she was truly ready.
"It's fine, Love. We will probably make an official announcement whenever you're ready."
"Thanks for understanding." She whispered.
"Anything for you, Babe. My family now knows the truth about our relationship. They are happy for us and we have their blessings."
"Really? Your mom?"
Colt chuckled. "Why are you always tense whenever you hear my mom's name?"
"Our first encounter wasn't the best."
Colt smiled. "I know and my mom is sorry about that. She now understands why you looked clueless and confused when she confronted you."
"There's nothing to worry about. Victoria Royal is one of the nicest people you will ever come across."
Mia nodded.
"So, how did you meet Chad? I don't remember officially introducing you both" Colton arched a brow, with a small smile playing on his lips.
"I was beyond heartbroken when I saw the news on TV. I felt I needed some air so I went out of the office, to the park that was a few minutes walk away. Chad saw me bawling my eyes out where I was seated so he came over to comfort me. I didn't believe he was related to you until he showed me evidence that he worked for you."
Colton pulled Mia into a hug and placed a long kiss on her forehead.
"You've packed all your stuff?" He asked.
She nodded.
"Good. Chad will get someone to go pick them up. There's no way I'm sleeping without you in my arms tonight."
"Any plans for the rest of the day?" He asked.
"I have to go back to work. But I'm free after 5:30 pm."
"Let me take you out for lunch and then, I'll drive you to your office.
